A Hawk and a Hacksaw

Not surprisingly (since they were down to less than 25, 5 hours ago), all 3-day passes to I'll Be Your Mirror USA, taking place in Asbury Park, NJ from Sept 30 - Oct 2, 2011, are sold out. All tickets to see the October 3rd Jeff Mangum show are gone too, so that means all the Mangum tickets are gone since only 3-day pass holders can get into Mangum's Friday show. If you want to see the rest of Friday, or Saturday (Portishead) or Sunday (Portishead), grab one-day passes on either SeeTickets or Ticketmater before those sell out too (let's see if they all disappear as fast as Coachella's did)

Jeff Mangum is not the only member of Neutral Milk Hotel playing the fest (though he may be the only one singing the band's songs). A Hawk & a Hacksaw (NMH's Jeremy Barnes) is also on the Friday lineup so far. A Hawk and a Hacksaw are releasing a new album, "Cervantine" (pictured above), via their own label L.M. DUPLI-CATION on February 18th. In March they'll tour the west coast before heading to Europe. All of their non-NJATP dates are below...

ATP are just a bunch of sell-outs...

"ATP are just a bunch of sell-outs..."

that makes no sense.

Who cares about 3 day passes? If you buy each day separately, you only spend $10 more. But for those $10, you get to see Portishead twice, unlike those with 3-day passes.

Who cares about some recluse.

ok, enough milking of VU. Why not name their festival after some songs that really matter like Kilslug's "Bringing Back the Dead", I think that is much more relevant for this generation.

I'm sick of hoping Barry Hogan will put a decent amount of metal on the bill.

When is ATP gonna nut up and do a metal only side festival?????

"ATP are just a bunch of sell-outs..."

that makes no sense.

but it sold out...

maybe he doesn't like Metal??

Is Sleep metal ? I think he got them back together...

Why am I even responding to this.. ?

I would have gotten 3 day passes, but that bizzare stipulation of only getting to see one of the two portishead shows is weird.

"Who cares about some recluse."

Bad point

"I would have gotten 3 day passes, but that bizzare stipulation of only getting to see one of the two portishead shows is weird."

good point

You retards are so stupid.

People commenting on ATP when you obviously never been there.

Anyway for you hipsters that can't figure out....NMH reunion is happening on Friday night at ATP NJ.

P.S. Hummus sucks
Edamame is delicious.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2011 6:41 PM

How may three day passes were actually on sale?

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2011 7:00 PM

6:41... Your comment is clearly off-base because your probably not getting the proper nutrition and it is impacting your comprehension.

"..NMH reunion is happening on Friday night at ATP NJ."

I highly doubt that is planned, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if the other guys join Jeff on stage, especially with at least one of them already confirmed in town.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2011 7:29 PM

5:34 you're missing the other guy's point. There is metal at every ATP festival. That dude is saying he wants an ALL METAL festival from the ATP guys. Which is a fucking awesome idea.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2011 7:39 PM

agreed regarding metal. one of the last ATP's in the UK had Urfaust and YOB. It would be great to have some metal at this upcoming NJ one.

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2011 8:04 PM

Jeff should do solo and the entire NMH band should come out for encore and play Untitled

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2011 8:12 PM

How can a three day festival sell out when only part of one day's line up is announced? What is the motivation for ATP to add any bands of importance to the bill now? You may get a pile of shit in the end and Friday isn't all that great as it is. This was very poorly executed and I hope those that have tickets also don't get buyer's remorse. I also agree on the lack of metal although last year did have Sleep and Sunn 0))).

Posted by Anonymous | January 31, 2011 8:21 PM

I have a feeling if you are really motivated to see both portishead shows with a 3 day, you can probably make it happen. Also the sound outside of convention hall is often times better than indoors.

Posted by BLG | January 31, 2011 8:32 PM

@8:21 it's my understanding from what was posted before single tickets outweigh three day passes in terms of numbers, so plenty of motivation for decent acts to sign on. I'm also relying on the quality of past lineups and the artist friendly atmosphere.

Posted by BLG | January 31, 2011 8:42 PM

8:21 ATP has been around for 10 years. These shows sell out before acts are announced based on reputation. They are in this for the long haul.

The reason 2,500 people bought tickets before knowing the lineup is the same reason they'll end up making an awesome lineup. That's all they know how to do.

Go to atpfestival.com and look at every festival they've put on, in the US or overseas. Tell me any of them look like shit just because the tickets sold well.........

question: for Mangum's show at the Paramount, is the Front Balcony the Upper or Lower Balcony?

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2011 12:03 AM

@12:03 Check your row letter against the Paramount seating chart. A-C is loge, D-K is lower balcony, M-R is upper balcony.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2011 8:33 AM

crap, i got N11 and N13... oh vell

Posted by chris g | February 1, 2011 9:04 AM

i think the rush is past. i'd be suprised if the day passes sell out.

that unless they announce some popular acts that appeal to a larger demographic, like AF. Then a whole new socio-economic group enters the foray.

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2011 9:18 AM

Wait... so Front Balcony A10 and A12 is loge? I would seriously die of happiness if this is correct, I've been waiting to get sit in the loge for years now!

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2011 9:26 AM

*to get to sit in the loge

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2011 9:41 AM

Arcade Fire aren't playing this. ATP spent most of their big money on Portishead and Mangum.. no way they could afford A F too.

They will add some cool worthy stuff for sure just don't expect any more really huge names.. its just not possible

Posted by Anonymous | February 1, 2011 9:57 AM

@9:26 yep, I believe you're in the front row of the loge. I'm guessing that, if you're facing the stage, you're towards the left of the theatre.
