The So So Glos
The So So Glos

About 100 fans of the Brooklyn-based band Japanther rushed the stage during the Rock N' Roll Circus in Damrosch Park at 11:30 p.m., said the event's co-producer, Jessica Resler.

"People were crowd-surfing and jumping on each other. It was like, what the hell just happened?" Resler said.

A teenager who went to see her favorite band with two pals said she was scared to death.

"Oh, my God, it was crazy. I was off my feet for a whole minute. I thought I was going to die in there," said Jessica Schmidt, 18.

"I thought my friend was going to get trampled because he fell and hit his head pretty hard."

The event, which attracted more than 1,000 people, took place in the tent that normally houses the Big Apple Circus, which helped produce the event. -[NY Post]

Mosh pit + Lincoln Center = sensational NY Post article about last night's 'Rock N Roll Circus' show. We previously posted about it, but here's a full set of pictures that includes every band who played (it first got rowdy during the So So Glos set)...

Should have had Patrick Stickle there to lecture them about personal responsibility.

1,000 people? Hahahahahaha. Where were they? In the bathroom practicing their "lines"?

from the vegan archives:

"Didn't The Rolling Stones do this first? So who's biting who - and who bit who first? Who cares? Plus OK Go sucks anyway, Ariel Pink is way better!

hmmm. i wonder what ok go's management would think if it knew that one of the event's promoters --- Vito Fun --- was dissing the headliner he and his girlfriends originally booked???

:) :) :)

omg guys, they could have died

Those quotes are terrible. I was there and anyone who can't handle a pit should not be in the pit. There was plenty of space for people to sit down in a seat and be safe and it sounds like that is what those people should have done.

Most importantly - Fuck that band Voxhaul Bitchcast. Who had sex with them and was guilted into having them play? Maybe some dumbass girls that seemed to be in charge....What a joke. Worst fucking show I have been too

The energy was pure posi. And I'm VERY surprised Jessica Resler was surprised that people got EXCITED. Did she not know or consider what every Japanther show is like/about???

The bands and the fans were subjected to a crop of security guards that can't differentiate between good and bad crowds, and that, i believe, is all there is to say.

Why this even happened with such a shitty lineup is beyond me. I guess for some people FREE is just too hard to resist.

Have you ever dealt with Jessica Resler and her Muffin Cupcake company? Totally fly by night, attention deficit disorder, disorganized kind of like this show last night. Ask anyone involved w/OK GO or any of the other band's publicists and you'll get an earful about what a nightmare this was from the start.

Who on earth would support these clowns (pun intended) with the unlimited $$$ that helped to put this show on???

Posted by Anonymous | January 4, 2011 1:58 PM

Unlimited Money? Bullshit. They got popchips to throw down some bean bags. Get your shit straight
