"I think oh land might be a magical priestess of disco" - Kirill Savitski

B-Sides: You've gotten comparisons to artists like Lykke Li and it's hard not to draw comparisons to Lady Gaga, with the outfits and your theatrical stage performance. Do you lean one way or the other? Do you see yourself as an indie artist or are you aiming to be a pop star?Oh Land played a one-off headlining show ahead of her tour with OMD (who she is now playing Terminal 5 with instead of Webster Hall in March) at Hiro Ballroom last night (1/26). More pictures from that show are below...Oh Land: What I want to achieve is to have my own space in music and of course I'll get comparisons to other female acts because there are quite many and if you're the newest one you always get comparisons until people try to find out who you really are. I feel like I've tried to make an album that very personal to me, so only I can make it. I think people will realize and place me somewhere themselves where it makes sense. One thing I'll say with the Lady Gaga comparison, I don't ever dress to stand out. I dress to fit in to my own universe. I think of myself more as Alice in Wonderland. She's a pretty normal girl in a fantastic world, everything else around her and the way she sees things is surreal and fantastic and scary and dreamy, but that's through her perception of the world. And that's how I see myself, I don't see myself as this animated character from outer space. I see myself as this girl who just sees everything around me through dream glasses."
