John F O'Donnell and Claudia Cogan hosted their 5th Annual 50 First Jokes night at the 92YTribeca on January 5th, 2011. The show, which might have been more appropriately titled 57 First Jokes, featured 57 New York based comedians telling the very first joke that they'd written in 2011.
Each comic was given approximately 2 minutes to perform and try out his or her new material. The sold-out show, also produced by O'Donnell and Cogan, was split into 3 acts that each featured approximately 20 comics. A set of pictures from the whole night continues below...

Did any comedians make use of the innate comedic value of the chickpea?

I know all black people look alike but I'm pretty sure that's Michael Che and not Kevin Barnett.

Where the fuck are the ugly/normal looking comedians?!?
All these "comedians" look so fucking "cool", it's annoying. I don't want a guy that looks like the reviews editor of Pitchfork telling jokes.
Bill Hicks was not hip!! Just hilarious.

Really kids who go to college at UCB, theres only about five comedians every maybe five years who are worth a shit and are not contrived. There is an overload of kids who think there gonna be comedians in this city. It just seems regurgitation of their favorite SNL person.
Patton's great, so is Todd Berry, and never forget Bil Hicks who did dangerous jokes and taboo subjects before it was acceptable.
