The Greenhornes will kick off a North American tour in Dallas on 3/20. That tour returns to the NYC-area for two shows: 4/8 @ The Bell House in Brooklyn (no tickets yet), and 4/9 @ Maxwell's in Hoboken (tickets on sale soon). No Manhattan this time around, though their last NYC show was at Bowery Ballroom on 11/30 (with the Ettes).
The Greenhornes, who share members with the Jack Whige bands Dead Weather and The Raconteurs, released an album in November on Jack White's Third Man Records, and recorded a bunch of live video sessions around that time. Five of those videos (Laundromatinee, Rolling Stone, KEXP and more), and all dates below...

Good band and I'm enjoying the new album too.
So does this mean a new White Stripes record is next? Might be hard to record a Raconteurs/Dead Weather album if the Greenhornes are touring.

The Greenhornes were great when they were a five piece band. Now? Fairly generic garage rock.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I just can't bring myself to keep going to Maxwell's. The trek over from the city is too much and then I have to either stand up front with a bunch of asshats who have never went to a show before or only go out once every few months OR I get to stand in back and not see a thing and hear horrible sound. I was just there again last weekend and finally made a vow to just stop going. Most bands play a show in NYC/Brooklyn before or after playing there anyway.
The Bell House is another somewhat annoying trek from the city, but at least that place has a decent sized room and less shitty crowd.
I can't help but love the Greenhornes though. There Is An End is amazingly wonderful and the organ work on their first album is unstoppable. Plus, those guys are just NICE. *hugs*

" the organ work on their first album is unstoppable"
The organist is long gone. He really made the group.

Huh funny I prefer big names in small rooms with great sound. But then again I don’t give a fuck what the person next to me is wearing.

I think they are touring with Mark Watrous on keys? He's damn good, and probably eats less than the original dude.
