After raging the night before at Union Pool, the Trap Them/Black Anvil/All Pigs Must Die destruction caravan made its way to the tiny basement of Cake Shop on 1/15, adding Psychic Limb as an exclamation point to the beatdown.
The early show kicked off with Psychic Limb a shade before 6PM, who played the entirety of their forthcoming LP Queens before turning it over to the positively fantastic crust-core killers All Pigs Must Die. Black Anvil followed the pair, trotting out a good selection of tunes from their latest LP Triumvirate before Trap Them whipped the anxious-and-circling-pit-dwellers into a frenzy, inciting crowd-surfing and gang vocals alike. Trap Them's incendiary live renditions of songs like "Damage Prose", "The Facts" and "Every Walk A Quarantine" from the band's forthcoming Darker Handcraft prove that these songs don't just kill on LP, but are also highly translatable live too.
More pictures from Cake Shop are below.

And they say there are no good men left in this town. This looks like a great place to find a husband.

What anon said. What a fucking good show. 2011 is shaping up to be a great year for live shows.

Some of them dudes need to get some booty pronto. A little lady love might chill them out.

And some of the sausage-obsessed BV commenters need to get some dick. You boys getting backed up, 3:08 and 3:22? Go to a Grizzly Bear show if you want a fellow cokehead to ram you in the ass.
Singer of Psychic Limb looks like Kevin Baker from All Pigs Must Die. Trap Them singer was bleeding again? 2 nights in a row. I dont think hes the type to purposely bash himself in the head like that joker who sings for Trash Talk.

Hahaha, so true: "I dont think hes the type to purposely bash himself in the head like that joker who sings for Trash Talk." I watched some kid go for the mic and hit his forehead into Ryan's nose and the blood came rushing out again. That poor bastard needs a spa day.

can anyone confirm that the bass player for Trap Them was eating hummus at Mamoun's before the show?
Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2011 3:35 PM
Directive: At least one Sunn t-shirt per band member.

3:22 - exactly what I was thinking.
Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2011 4:22 PM
3:28, 3:35: They call it "tough guy bullshit".
Posted by Anonymous | January 18, 2011 4:56 PM
And when are the indie metal folks going to just tattoo a beard on or tattoo all their favorite bands like Sunn or old hardcore bands that have nothing to do with metal.

These guys are going to be huge!

You know, not every person who plays music is actually an aggressive or emotionally pent-up person. Some people just enjoy it: it feels good, it's fun, and it's cathartic.

Awesome pics - man what a fun looking show

those boys look like they need some sausage
Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2011 1:29 AM
I fucking laugh my ass off every time I see one of these douchebags post something about hummus, sausage-fests or whatever on the metal write-ups. You are sad, pathetic losers if you have time to read about bands/music that you hate. The hipsters are so damn mad that BV covers so much metal! And that is comedy gold.

Ah metal...The WWE of music.
Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2011 10:30 AM
5:38: Haha, nice.
7:38: Agreed.
9:11: It's not even funny, it's mongoloid nonsense by trendy losers who like to amuse themselves to distract themselves from that big void they call a "life".
10:30: Yeah, because ALL metal is the WWE of music. Not just jock-core tomfoolery (which is what you meant to go for).

11:32/12:47: Awwwww. Wittle sensitive boys taking offense there? Good. The truth hurts. Your pansy-ass jabs are laughable.

Douchefest!
Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2011 4:15 PM
Black t-shirts and tattoos, great. Only thing worse to look at nowadays is that sensitive lumberjack look.
Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2011 4:47 PM
Sensitive lumberjack is a pretty funny way to put it. Awful look these people sport. They actually think they look good? I mean, seriously?
Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2011 4:56 PM
They look good pumping my gas in a snowstorm.
Posted by Anonymous | January 19, 2011 6:14 PM
why not post a couple of pictures of trap them drummer ? lame
Posted by dick | January 19, 2011 11:14 PM
Hey Dick, why don't you get in there with your little camera and push through the crowd and take shots of the drummer if you've got such a crush. Homo.
Posted by Anonymous | January 20, 2011 6:50 PM
great time, trap them's drummer wearing a slap shot shirt was the best.
Posted by Anonymous | January 23, 2011 2:34 AM
Psychic Limb may be the best new band. Actually, let's just go ahead and confirm that.
