U.S. Royalty
US Royalty

The Wombats were supposed to play a show at Glasslands in Brooklyn on Monday night with U.S. Royalty, but the Wombats have cancelled all January dates including Tuesday night at Mercury Lounge as well.

DC band U.S. Royalty are no longer playing Glasslands either (the whole show is cancelled), but you can catch them for free Tuesday evening at the Apple Store in SoHo ("Join us for a special live performance from U.S. Royalty and hear songs from their debut album, "Mirrors.""). Two U.S. Royalty songs can be sampled above.

Saw these guys as one of the Art Brut openers during their 5 day stint last year at the Merc. PHENOMENAL live band.

Their studio stuff doesn't inspire me as much but you need to see these guys before you judge.

USR was effing awesome at the apple store. There single does not do their full sound and scope justice. Almost reminds me of ambulance ltd but harder rock and less synth sound. Definitely lush live and they played with six guys instead of the four pictured and listed as band members.

I reviewed this thingy for Arena: It's great, but all the demo songs sound like Photek or someone & I have to confess that i struggled to make a tune that didn't either.
