Chromeo

As you can tell in the above picture, Chromeo's Friday night show at Terminal 5 was in fact sold out. They now continue on tour until 2/19 with both MNDR and The Suzan, who both also opened the NYC show. Then in March Chromeo will head to Austin for SXSW. They play Coachella in April, and Sasquatch in May. All dates and a bunch more pictures from the Terminal 5 show, below...

Holy hummus Batman! I never thought I'd live to see the elusive Albino Smurf!

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 2:20 AM

I've never seen Terminal 5 so packed in all my life. It was like a can of Goya chickpeas in there!

the suzan are horrible... i don't understand why they keep getting gigs

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 12:16 PM

"how did chromeo go from being a curious novelty opening for the unicorns to packing terminal 5?"

I mean, you understand that bands start in a room or a garage, eventually branching out to getting gigs. Within a couple of years they either begin to grow and expand or go nowhere and break up. Personally I don't care for this band, but they clearly grew a fanbase and are expanding their appeal over time. It has in fact happened before, where an opening act at a small venue with seemingly limited appeal years later ends up being a bigger band playing larger venues.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 12:17 PM

anyone know the setlist?

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 12:20 PM

Chromeo are the equivalent of a two man version of Boyz To Men.

Really hard hitters in the "industry".

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 2:25 PM

No one has mentioned how terrible MNDR was. Truly awful stuff, not to mentioned every time she stared into the crowd she bit her lower lip like that retarded character Gilly from SNL.

Chromeo was great.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 3:00 PM

the crowd mug shots give an impression of lame

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 3:53 PM

great pix. how did you get on stage?

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 4:46 PM

Regarding the lame Hall & Oates comparison...do you think anyone will remember, yet alone reference Chromeo in 25 or so years?

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 6:46 PM

"As you can tell, the show sold out?" How can I tell that? You can't tell that from the picture. You can certainly tell that it's very crowded, but you cannot tell that it sold out.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 7:25 PM

The only thing you can tell by the pictures is that there was massive amounts of hummus everywhere.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 7:45 PM

let's ban the word hummus from BrooklynVegan...go!

Posted by Stephen Whitfield | February 10, 2011 9:07 PM

Mr Whitfield, why such a negative sentiment? We are a peaceful bunch that simply has a deep rooted feeling for the mashed up chickpea and like to sing it's praises from time to time.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 11:14 PM

I will always remember Chromeo as the worst band I ever sat through at Coachella (they were sandwiched in between other acts I...and everyone else...wanted to watch). Holy shit they were terrible.

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 12:49 AM

would you look at these fucking hipsters -- and so many "chill bros"

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 2:54 AM
