Interpol

Fans -
New personnel change: Dave Pajo is tagging out, folks.
Dave has decided to step out of the spotlight for a spell, and will no longer be touring with Interpol.
We're all friends. It's just an Out-of-the-hotel, Into-the-home sorta thing.
He's going to be missed to be sure. Aside from being an exceptional musician, Pajo is a wonderful person to be around.
He's sharp as a tack and funny as all get-out.
Anyway, if you saw us perform recently, I'm sure you'll agree - we were lucky to have him.
Dave wanted to speak to you personally, so please see below for a note from the man himself.

And now for the good news:
We have tapped our friend Brad Truax to perform bass duties effective immediately.
Brad is the man. His musical resume includes work with a horde of awesome bands: Home, Soldiers of Fortune, Gang Gang Dance,
The Broke Revue, Animal Collective, Cass McCombs, White Magic...
He's got taste and he's got chops. And that's what we want.

Our next gig, and our first with Truax, will be in Hamburg on March 3rd. So hop on over to Germany and come down say hi.
We look forward to seeing every last one of you in the coming months.
Thanks.

"I would like to announce that I will no longer be performing live with Interpol on their upcoming campaign. I'll be taking a break from touring to focus on family. There are no personal, artistic or health reasons--it's really as simple as that!
I would like to thank Paul, Daniel, Sam, Brandon, everyone in the crew, and all of the Interpol fans for the remarkable support and patronage they have shown me during my time with them. I feel a tremendous amount of love and respect for everyone involved and will genuinely miss them.
I will continue to record and perform music, with bands as well as solo, I just won't be touring as much.
I am truly grateful for the experience and look forward to enjoying Interpol in the future, as a fan and friend.
Walk in light, walk in darkness.

They've lost control again

Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2011 1:31 PM

They didn't see this coming? Pajo has a history of joining bigger acts and quickly jumping ship. (Tortoise and Zwan come to mind). Infact I'm surprised he stayed in Interpol as long as he did. He didn't want to tour?
I mean.. Interpol just released a new record at the time when Pajo joined.. ALL they are going to do is tour! He didn't know that? I'm sure he's a great dude.. but a dude that can't play with others, apparently. Touring constantly when you have loved ones at home is hell. Though, I wonder what really happened. The "family" bit is a little cliche. Especially joining a band that is obvs going to tour heavily.

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...

very odd, especially since he was so enthusiastic at Radio City show, wasn't he the one who said at end of main show 'how about we do a residency here?' odd statement from a man who is just about to leave a band? bummer, he sounded great in Interpol...

1:39 zwan broke up because billy is a dick nothing to do with pajo, dave has a new baby at home so he wants to be there, he joined the band as a touring fill in he knew that, its been a year, truax rules, pajo rules

^^Exactly!

Pajo is a good musician and a nice guy, but this band is becoming a joke. Interpol should considering pulling something together like what New Order did, choose a new name and just start a new band. Touring as Interpol without Carlos D is lame IMO. I thought their shows at RCMH and United were pretty mediocre.
