ticketmaster presale was a bust

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:11 AM

Retarded. I've seen them enough times in smaller venues that I don't feel the need to put up with this shit. Over it

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:11 AM

not only did i not get pit tix, i did not get ANY tix. what a fucking joke. i really hope folks don't buy from scalpers for this, b/c they were/are all over it

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:12 AM

GA sold out immediately.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:13 AM

sold out? "Sorry, no exact matches were found, but other tickets may still be available" to "best available"

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:13 AM

I want to know if people at the mercury lounge were able to get pit tickets.

Posted by anonymous2 | February 9, 2011 10:13 AM

Pulled a few different 300 level option on the online presale. Threw them back. Hoping for something better from the normal on sale.

Posted by Scott | February 9, 2011 10:14 AM

wft?!? ticketmaster cocksuckers.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:14 AM

i got tickets, bitches

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:14 AM

What a CF....got 300's whatever..rather have a guaranteed ticket!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:15 AM

Yea, you concert going folk should know by now Presale does not equal Best tix. Pitchfork got a bunch of random midlevel seats. The normal sale will be fine. Unbunch your skinny jeans.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:15 AM

keep trying. I just got some at 1016 (really)

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:16 AM

There were no pit tickets sold online today. Only to people who went to mercury box office.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:17 AM

yeah 300s here too. sent them back so @10:15 could go.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:17 AM

Wondering if pit tix were even released online

Would be in vogue to only let local fans who stood in freezing temperatures for hours Wednesday morning to have them

Posted by goloxc | February 9, 2011 10:18 AM

is there a merc lounge update

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:19 AM

i just (10:20) pulled 407s...which is pretty shitty. "best available." threw 'em back.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:20 AM

Got a pair of GA but instantly traded them to this dude for his fly Hollister hoodie....sucker got played, this sh!t is warm as hell!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:21 AM

This is fucking bullshit. I went through the whole process and it told me I had GA Pit tickets reserved on Ticketmaster. I paid for the tickets and then in my confirmation email, it has me in section 306. I am positive it had me in the GA Pit. Did this happen to anyone else?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:21 AM

cobralegs

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:22 AM

Pulled up 300 level option at 10:17. Threw it back. Don't wanna see last show ever from last row ever. Not worth $60

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:22 AM

@10:21 - get a screenshot?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:22 AM

this whole presale is bullshiiiit. they just put a super limited number of tickets on sale so it would appear this event would be hard to get into.

there will be a ton available when the regular sale begins.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:23 AM

i like turtles

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:23 AM

I'm hearing that the purpose of the pitchfork presale was to sell as many 300 and 400 level tickets as possible by making it seem like the show would be an instant sell out. Word is that Ryan Schreiber is getting a cut from all ticket sales for seats in the 300 and 400 levels. There had been a concern that LCD would be unable to sell out all of MSG, so this was a scheme to ensure that people would feel the need to buy any ticket they could get.

Pretty lousy. Dude's like a modern day hummus baron.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:23 AM

No, I didn't get a screen shot because I didn't think I would need one. I foolishly believed for a second that I wouldn't be screwed by Ticketmaster, but it looks like I was.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:23 AM

LOL hummus baron!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:24 AM

pulled 8 at 10am in 300 level and threw em back. kill myself

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:24 AM

got a pair in 132, 5 rows back. good seats and great spot for sound. im happy with that. doubt any ga tix were sold.

gonna try to get some ga's on friday, we'll see,

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:25 AM

Hey! Sillyheads! I am still pulling single tickets in the 100's and 200's. Buy em just to get in the door. Security at MSG is very chill, and as long as you don't mind not getting down to the floor you can go pretty much wherever you want!

Posted by Scott | February 9, 2011 10:25 AM

@10:23 Any source? Unsubstantiated? While plausible this would make for a nasty rumor.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:26 AM

No shit sherlock, but it's a dance party - anywhere but the floor sucks balls.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:26 AM

Pulled 2 in sec 342 right at 7:02am - threw thim back... no, no, no.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:27 AM

newsflash: ticketmaster is evil. in other news: scalpers exploit musicians and fans.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:27 AM

Is there anyone who got any tix in a section other than the 300's or 400's?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:28 AM

i saw prince from the 400s and the sound was great and everyone around me was dancing. then again, i saw roger waters from the 400s and it was all parents and kids and no one but myself and friend were dancing. #beingcheapsux

Posted by hummusbro | February 9, 2011 10:28 AM

@10:26 Exactly. Can't dance in a plastic chair.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:28 AM

$61.50 for 341? Pfft

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:28 AM

I was also wondering if this show will sell out. MSG is 20k? Pushin it. Did Pheonix sell out? LCD SS on par with Arcade Fire?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:28 AM

"@10:21 - get a screenshot?"

Yeah, this hoodie is niiiice!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:28 AM

@10:26 Yeah, you're totally right. In a 20,000 capacity venue, all but 4,000 seats or so aren't even worth having.

Posted by Scott | February 9, 2011 10:29 AM

Pre-sales are for N00bs

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:29 AM

So this is all about James Murphy just wanting to have played The Garden. yeeeesh.

would be better if they did a residency at Santos

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:29 AM

I got in 200's

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:30 AM

@10:28

Seat location: section 133, row A, seats 11-12
Total Charge: US $ 123.00

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:30 AM

Second-to-last show to be added the night before (Friday 4/1). I know, I know-- it's april first. But seriously this is happening.

Posted by One who knows | February 9, 2011 10:30 AM

^^^ yup, i got 132

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:31 AM

Mysteriously there were hundreds of tickets available on Stub Hub for $199-$800 right at 10am. Fuck ticketmaster!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:31 AM

Breaking News.... StubHub currently has 257 tickets and growing every minute for sale starting at $105 each... douchebags!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:32 AM

my security words were "hummus baron"

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:32 AM

10:30 -- i doubt it; i really think they're going to have trouble selling this out so quickly. like others have said, they likely put the shittiest tickets on sale during the presale, in very limited amount, so they could find people that would definitely buy them.

once this goes on sale on friday, scalpers will suck up the good tickets, and folks on here will complain, but prices will go way down as the event nears. there's just no way they could sell out two nights at msg.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:32 AM

Do you people even read the other comments before you make yours? Once again THERE WERE NO PIT TICKETS MADE AVAILABLE ONLINE TODAY
Only for people at the Mercury Lounge

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:32 AM

StubHub is the new Ticketmaster!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:33 AM

U GUYS ARE SUCH IDIOTS STOP ITS SCALPERS PRESELLING TICKETS THEY DONT HAVE ANY WAIT TILL DAy of show and get in for $5

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:33 AM

10:21, same shit happened to me, i got 2, one at a time and when i was finished i got sections 131 and 133 instead of GA. I'm bombing lcdsoundsystem.com's email as we speak. Assholes.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:33 AM

@10:31 most of them are likely fake

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:34 AM

29 GA tickets on stubhub. guess these were all people waiting in line?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:35 AM

LCD soundsystem is boring anyway. Y'all are a bunch of tools buying these tickets at that price. Furthermore, Brooklynvegan, can you please never substitute the letter "u" for the word "you" ever again?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:36 AM

I pulled, threw 'em back. Wack. Quack. Stack it back, black. Hit the track with Shaq, jump in the sack, check the Nasdaq, Click-Clack.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:37 AM

The more you read into it, the more obvious that they barely released ANY tickets for this presale. It was sold out 3 minutes in.

Good for those waiting for the general sale, but definitely sucks for the fools who got 300 and 400 section tickets two days before the people who are gonna be able to get GA on Friday morning. Kind of a shitty presale.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:37 AM

every single ga pit ticket on stubhub id being presold nobody has any

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:37 AM

show will def sell out and they will release crappier level 300 seats 1 week before, just like phoenix show

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:38 AM

I heard the GA tickets sold at Mercury Lounge come with a free voucher to get gang-banged by James Murphy and Ryan Schreiber

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:39 AM

I grabbed one in the 300s, bought it just so I could have a ticket then remembered I'm supposed to be getting one for me and one for me gf....d'oh!

But after trying and failing for awhile longer to get another one, I snagged one in the 100s right behind floor seats. Not bad. Wish I could've gotten two there or two on the floor but I'll take what I got I guess.

Posted by Bmarino | February 9, 2011 10:40 AM

Pitchfork honestly can't afford to put on a very large presale, hence the small amount of tickets released through Ticketmaster.com. They probably had to cut into their Pitchfork Festival fund and now you'll all have to settle with Avey Tare headlining instead of a full Animal Collective.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:40 AM

MERC WAS COLD

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:40 AM

@ 10:37 - doesn't matter in the end, those people will be able to sell their tix on craigslist for a premium closer to the show date, guaranteed.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:40 AM

some people waited in line for 6 hours for tickets that will have them on their feet for 4 hours. That seems retardo to me.

I got 122 section seats and look forward to having a seat for dancing breaks.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:41 AM

Dear Scalpers-

The people that are paying to go to LCD Soundsystem are not the people who can afford to buy $250+ tickets, myself included. Hahahaha. Good luck actually selling your tickets you douchebags.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:41 AM

Wow - must be tough living a life where you can get in line @ 3:45 am to save a few bucks. Get a fucking job everyone - it's not that difficult. It's easier to make excuses. Stop relying on mommy & daddy...

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:42 AM

you know what sux i have cut copy tix for that night as well. damn wish i had ones for fri instead

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:42 AM

10:23, please verify.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:43 AM

can't believe stub hub is asking for 400-999 bucks for pit tickets. um not worth it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:44 AM

"I got 122 section seats and look forward to having a seat for dancing breaks."

If you can't stay on your feet for the entire show, you shouldn't be there!!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:44 AM

After perpetrating the 2006 hoax in the previous post, I got 400-level tix. Karma? :)

I'll be back on Friday, and if I get better tickets, I'll be selling my 400s at cost on craigslist.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:44 AM

fyi, i just got Section 126 Row A at 10:45am, after being told "none available" since 10am....

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:45 AM

seriously, don't these people have jobs? who has the luxury to just wait in line 3 hours.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:46 AM

After continuously trying I was able to get another 2 tickets together. This time in the 200s. I'll probably sell the 100 (which I really want) and the 300 so that she and I can sit together.

Just for shits and giggles I'll give Friday morning a try too. I don't really want GA tickets but floor seats or 2 in the 100s would be quite nice.

Posted by Bmarino | February 9, 2011 10:46 AM

Actually, lots of people don't have jobs. So, yeah.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:47 AM

Trust fund hipsters!! Go back to Jersey to your mom's basement!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:47 AM

Just heard directly from the LCD camp that there will be 100 GA tickets available without fees at Other Music on Friday morning

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:48 AM

Just pulled 2 in sec 333 at 10:45am - threw them back!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:49 AM

just got section 9

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:50 AM

there are still singles being pulled. but MSG alone is kind of depressing.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:52 AM

My friends were only in line a couple hours for the Mercury presale and just got their block of GA tickets. A little cold and all that, but they avoided all the bullshit at least.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:53 AM

just got floor seats. not ga though.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:53 AM

Why would anyone actually believe anything on here? I've never taken a single BV comment seriously. I come for the big big laughs.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:53 AM

I just got 2 tickets in the 300's at 10:52. Yes, the Ticketmaster system blows and there is no explanation for how many pre-sale tickets there are...but keep trying to at least get in the door.

Posted by K | February 9, 2011 10:53 AM

my friend got GA pit tix from mercury lounge, but she got there at 6am. I gave up around 10:30 when the line moved from stanton to ludlow

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:53 AM

Kept pulling back floor and then finally decided to buy section 121. Ive been there before and while no floor- they are nice seats. I cant rely on fridays sale after todays debacle.

Posted by Venkman | February 9, 2011 10:54 AM

merc sold out. people in line from 8am-ish on in the freezing cold missed out.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:55 AM

hey, yea so i keep getting offered tickets in the 300 and 400 level now... i keep throwing them back but if anyone wants theyre still there.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:55 AM

should i buy section 9 or wait for ga?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:55 AM

Don't use "best available" ...i just grabbed 2 upper-level tickets by using the "300 section" option.

plan on trying to get better ones when they go on sale and then selling these.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:56 AM

Why are we not talking about the shitty sound at MSG?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:56 AM

Ugh, now I pulled two on the floor in section 12? Wow almost last row... no thanks!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:56 AM

Just pulled 103 at 10:55. Keep trying.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:56 AM

FYI, at 10:50 my friends said they made an announcement to the line at Mercury that there's only 10 tickets left. So if you didnt get tix on the Ticketmaster presale, don't feel bad. At least you didn't wait out in the cold for hours to get stiffed.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:57 AM

was on line at the Mercury @6:40. Fellow managing the line was very cool/Went smooth . A few assholes tried to cut in but our crew sorted them out and sent them to the back of the line.Have GA tickets in hand.. And a few new friends along the way (Thanks Emily) and damn it was cold...

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:58 AM

I remember getting GA tix for GnR at the garden. It was the exact same set up as LCD and it was a piece of cake to get.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 10:59 AM

this whole "we are selling GA ticks at mercury lounge and other music (if the rumors are true)" really blows for people with jobs or who can't get to nyc for that. tickets suck in general. I miss when I used to be able to get floor or Loge seats easily...now getting anything takes an hour of hitting refresh again and again.

Posted by Bmarino | February 9, 2011 11:01 AM

Grabbed floor seats, section 12, at 10:50. If you dream it, you can do it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:02 AM

I had no interest in this show, but seriously, how does Ticketmaster get away with their shit?

The employees/scalpers must pay the right people.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:02 AM

Frozen-toed and ticketless :-(

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:03 AM

Originally pulled section 331 at 10:00:01 am, but I kept on trying and got section 12 at 10:50 :D

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:04 AM

section 125!
whatever i'm just happy i'm going

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:04 AM

damn, would have loved to pull floor seats, i've been doing this since 10 and couldn't pull it off, all you who did are lucky!

Posted by bmarino | February 9, 2011 11:07 AM

Section 12 blows. I'd rather sit in the higher sections that are closer to the stage.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:07 AM

Fuck Ticketmaster. I had class but my sister tried for me and couldn't. FUCK YOU TICKETMASTER. FUCK YOU.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:08 AM

Section 12 is so far away. Sorry, that's a shitty seat.

And why are you dildos getting all up in arms!? There's a regular ONSALE Friday morning for fuck's sake. The SHOW didn't sell out, a small allotment did. Stop acting so entitled.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:08 AM

10:58,

How early did one have to get there to be able to get tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:09 AM

you guys all have to hear "Drunk Girls" at least one more time

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:09 AM

"UPDATE: The presale is now sold out. General tickets will be available on Friday, February 11 at 8 a.m. Eastern time." - Pitchfork

Looks like you whining jobless twats will have to jump on the regular onsale like a normal person

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:10 AM

Got in line around 6:40 and watched someone spill coffee that froze on the sidewalk within minutes. Nabbed two GA tix, at least.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:13 AM

How does going to ticketmaster on Wednesday @ 10am make you jobless, fuckhead?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:13 AM

I got 2 in section 105 at 10:58. Keep trying!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:13 AM

Know this: The only people who got GA tix in the presale waiting in line at the Mercury Lounge for them.

Posted by Kevin Murphy | February 9, 2011 11:14 AM

Who is LCD Soundsytem...is it a new PA design?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:14 AM

er, WAITED

Posted by Kevin Murphy | February 9, 2011 11:15 AM

^^I call BS

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:16 AM

is this Other Music news true? Why does pitchfork announcement say 8AM?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:16 AM

The ticketmaster "convenience charges" are absurd. I wish DFA made their own site to spite ticketmaster for the show.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:17 AM

pull 1 floor section 1 row b ticket and threw it back at 1045

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:18 AM

"pull 1 floor section 1 row b ticket and threw it back at 1045"

LIes. There is no section 1

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:21 AM

presales are for shmos.

ps. i have a GA im willing to sell for ten grand. theres at least one fucking idiot reading these posts who will buy it from me.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:22 AM

Anon 11:13, that coffee ice is what kept me going

Posted by Adam R. | February 9, 2011 11:23 AM

James Murphy we love you, but you're bringing us down.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:23 AM

was stupid and got 400 level tickets. will just try again friday and sell those tickets face value

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:23 AM

thanks to the comments here, I went back to work looking for tickets on ticketmaster at 10:45... around 75-100 ticket searches (for individual tickets.. you can only search for one at a time!) later, i managed to score two tickets in the 103 level, one row away from each other.

the message: don't give up those of you who badly want tickets, the presale is just buggy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:23 AM

I've sat in section 12 before, the reports of them being that far from the stage are much exaggerated

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:24 AM

GA PIT $49.50!!!!! 6:30AM IN FRONT OF MERC MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:25 AM

^^6:30 AM = you are a loser!! And must not have a job. So not really MONEY MONEY MONEY

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:26 AM

"I've sat in section 12 before, the reports of them being that far from the stage are much exaggerated"

Tell that to the me from 10 years ago who sat there for radiohead and felt like i Was watching ants

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:27 AM

Wait, how are people still scalping? Didn't Paterson pass that archaic scalping law that means they can't sell for $2 over face or whatever?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:28 AM

Seriously, there are going to be WAY better tickets on sale Friday morning than were available for this morning's presale. You don't need to buy 2 tickets 3 rows apart like an idiot.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:28 AM

I hope that my 15$ convenient charge means they won't play drunk girls. They can play every song but that one.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:29 AM

Tickets are still available... or ticket, should I say.

Posted by K | February 9, 2011 11:31 AM

In line at 6:30 - to the headphoned man who moved my backpack to avoid the spilled coffee, THANK YOU

Swapped out with my friend midway through to get to work

Put on my tie in a Starbucks bathroom

IF YOU WANT IT BAD ENOUGH YOU FIND A WAY

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:32 AM

6:30AM NEEDS TO GET A NEW HOBBY OR FIGURE OUT HOW TO SELL DRUGS BECAUSE YOU'RE RUINING THIS FOR EVERYONE ELSE

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:34 AM

Got there to wait in line at just before 10... whoops, the line was stretched around the block and pretty much as soon as I got in line a guy came around to say not to waste my time. Glad I didn't, but just got online 15 minutes ago and can't seem to land a ticket on ticketmaster either, but if the the rumors are true it sounds like tomorrow should be fine anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:35 AM

Who's the bonehead that scheduled both presales simultaneously? Should have staggered them by at least 2 hours so everyone who froze their asses off and got shut out at Merc (and there were a lot) could take a shot at PF. Not cool.

Posted by Edward | February 9, 2011 11:37 AM

Thanks to the guy who brought the boom box to the line this morning. None of us got tickets, but it was kinda fun. Fuck it.

Got to Mercury at 6:40, and I was about the 70th person in line. Rumor was that they only had 500 tix. I got GA. (And yes, I have a job. Took the morning off.)

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:41 AM

these 2 tickets are my children, couldn't be more happy with my decision to get there at 630. well worth it, see u in april kids.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:41 AM

Was the first person at the Merc to not get GA tickets. PISSED..It was cold as shit. Got there at 745 am.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:44 AM

Got 2 GA tickets at MEHcury lounge after waiting for 2 and a half hours. I'll be smugly eating a bowl of hummus for the remainder of the day.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:44 AM

@11:44

niggas like hummus?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:49 AM

6:15 - 2 tix. worth it? are you kidding?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:49 AM

got there at 7:10ish and got tickets and made friends in line

YAY

Posted by matt | February 9, 2011 11:53 AM

Got there at 830, walked out ticketless.

Could really use some hummus right now.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:53 AM

Got two tix after getting there at 6am.

Posted by citybug | February 9, 2011 11:59 AM

Went by at 1015am, saw the line and bailed right away.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 11:59 AM

For real 11:53? I live 15 minutes away and was gonna head over around 9, glad I didn't waste my time. Sorry to hear about that though.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:00 PM

got there at 7:45 and didn't get tickets. really fucking bummed. fuck the idiot head counter @ mercury

Posted by laurwn | February 9, 2011 12:00 PM

i just wanna know who that fucking retard in the fur trench coat at the front of the line is.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:02 PM

Mercury already said they didn't know how many tickets they were getting so they couldn't head count and tell people not to waste their time if they weren't getting a ticket.

Meanwhile, check out the diehard(scalpers)s in the front of this shot:

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:04 PM

"Mercury already said they didn't know how many tickets they were getting so they couldn't head count and tell people not to waste their time if they weren't getting a ticket."

why didn't they print them out in advance and take a headcount / wristbands? the ticketmaster machines spit out "cash" deals without any authorization, so merc could've definitely done this, even if they didn't know how many were going to be available.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:08 PM

From Mercury Lounge Twitter: "Apologies to those who waited and didn't get tix. The box office had an unspecified amount of tix to sell. Hopefully you can get them online"

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:11 PM

12:02, it's Richie Tenenbaum, wearing Margot's coat

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:13 PM

Perfect example of hype. I've seen them a bunch of times at Bowery, Music Hall, Webster Hall and never had any problems getting tickets online. I guess people dying to see them now at MSG were sitting at home and watching reality TV when those shows were happening.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:14 PM

Anon 12:04, that old man with the yankee cap on deserves to get the last few miserable years of his pitiful existence beat the fuck out of him with his own cane.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:15 PM

I'd imagine most people in that line have probably already seen them too, 12:14.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:19 PM

emily greene, the line had never really reached pianos and if someone stood over there at some point they did not pay attention. from 8am on the merc person told everyone from mid block and on they stood no chance. and he had repeated that three times at various times.
and no one got tix there after standing for just 2.5 hours.
i'd say the cut off time to show up was 7:30 at the latest, maybe earlier even, so you got your tix around 10:45. do the math.

Posted by me | February 9, 2011 12:20 PM

Fuck this, I'm going to see BOAT at the rock shop suckers

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:20 PM

I got there at 9am, saw the line but would not be shut out. I just walked up and down the line a few times back and forth among the first 150 people or so. Talked to a few people asking dumb questions just to breed some familiarity and then saw my opportunity and cut in line. Idiot hipsters not paying attention thinking I was already there cause they heard my voice and saw me talking.

Got my 2 and hopefully will get 2 more Pit on Friday. Then sell 2 for way over face to same idiot hipsters. Score!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:21 PM

Last show of LCD has the association with Daft Punk's Alive 2007 tour. I missed out on that and am still bitter. This is my way of repaying myself.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:22 PM

Look at ol' 12:21 stirring the pot. That lil' fake story will surely have this place in a tizzy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:24 PM

12:21, I'll buy your floor seats. 70 or less

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:25 PM

12:21, I will offer you $15,000 for both GA tickets. Do you have a hummus recipe you can throw in to the deal though?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:26 PM

I don't see why people are so obsessed with this presale. The place hold 20K+ and there's an onsale friday. Stop the bitching

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:27 PM

Floor Tickets or Meh, That's the bitching.

I suspect LCD is pulling a KISS kind of forever reunion move. No offense to anyone who buys a ticket, I bet it will be awesome. Just, I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or two they have a "reunion" show. LCD Army!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:33 PM

sorry to disappoint guy , but trust me its our final show//

Posted by yep | February 9, 2011 12:43 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:44 PM

7.20am to 10am, outside. some of the best deli coffee (or at least tasted like it). surprising timing wherein a friend showed at the same time i did. and i have the feeling back in my toes. my dad's getting the best birthday present ever.

Posted by 2, GA floor | February 9, 2011 12:46 PM

whoever had the boombox playing LCD the entire time on line... you are a total douche and I'm happy you didn't get in like me

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 12:47 PM

Did everyone dance and play grabass to the music being played on the boombox?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 1:01 PM

I'd rather see Six Finger Satellite

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 1:02 PM

Clearly us students/people w/o morning jobs just dance more/party better than you 9-5ers. See you kids in tha pitt, best be bumpin.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 1:02 PM

Arrived at Merc at 6:55am & got my tickets about 10:20. Feeling fine.
PS - I have a job. This is NYC - who does a nine to five?!

Me too.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 1:13 PM

Clearly not working hard though

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 1:17 PM

12:21 back to respond

Not made up at all and not trying to stir any pot. All true what happened. Cut in the line and got my Pit tickets. Shall I point out all the people in the line near me. The dorky loser with brown hair and blue jacket standing right at the corner by the gelato place. The tall black girl with the headphones on about 3/4 of the way down.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 1:17 PM

By the way I was not the only one who did that. Ask the guys whose asian girl friend and her friend showed up at 9:30 with coffee and jumped on line with them. For those of you who waited halfway down Ludlow and got shut out, you should take your anger out on Bowery Presents who did no line managing and allowed friends to show up and cut in.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 1:20 PM

^ that's very suspicious. Why would he be in line for 3 hours if he knew he was gonna have knee surgery?

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 1:26 PM

got there at 8 and didn't get tix.

seen them 6 times. i'll try friday for floor but if not oh well, i'll buy the final show dvd.

They both are horrible.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 2:25 PM

i had no problem getting a tix as late as 11am online - i think if you buy single tix you don't have much of a problem...go with friends but not the end of the world if you don't sit with them - once it begins, i could care less who is next to me

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 2:30 PM

none of that is true. it's at gristede's in east new york. presale starts at 2am tomorrow. see you there?

Two friends and I got online at 7:15 this morning: dude in front of us gave out handwarmers, my toes went numb anyway, girl behind us bought a Snuggie, and we each got 2 GA tix at about 10:30. Took about an hour to defrost. And yeah, I'm a grad student, so no 9-to-5 for me.

(FYI, the guy who gave out the handwarmers said he heard some scalpers in the nearby convenience store talking about how they had about 20 people in line to buy tickets. Jerk.) Good luck everyone and I hope to boogie with you in the pit on April 2!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 4:00 PM

I can't believe everybody is FREAKING THE FUCK OUT about a 18,000-seat show with a band that, 6 months ago, couldn't fill up the 2000-seat Wellmont Theatre in New Jersey

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 4:01 PM

i remember three dfa shows in the early 2000's. nobody would watch him. absolutely none of my friends could be bothered to leave the bar until the rapture or whoever played.

why did everyone like lcd more as his music got worse?

nobody cares that you will say "but i was there." because you weren't fucking there until you were told to be there. ten years later.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 4:02 PM

12:22 should be bitter, sh*t was dope

peeps are outta their titz. This isnt a phish show, there will be plenty of decent tix friday...guaranteed

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 4:10 PM

i'm totally gonna get tix for face on craigslist the week of the show or get them for below face from a scalper that night on the street. got arcade fire tix week of this summer for below face on cragslist.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 4:36 PM

I heard that James Murphy and his band has sold their guitars and bought turntables

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 4:37 PM

yeah you guys will definitely be getting GA tickets off craigslist for below face value the day of the show - or just buy them from those friendly scalpers that will be hanging outside MSG

oh, you mean you're going to buy 300 level seats at MSG to an LCD Soundsystem concert? because no one wants those tickets and no one is freaking out that they weren't able to buy them today at the presale

the only ticket anyone wants is the GA ticket, which required that you be at mercury lounge this morning. i was [at that place]

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 4:39 PM

4:01, the Wellmont licks taint and nobody wants to go to NJ for shit.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 4:48 PM

The Wellmont is vastly superior to T5.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 5:00 PM

not only is the wellmont way better than T5, but that show was fucking amazing. james said so himself, great crowd, great set. suck it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 5:07 PM

the wellmont show was sold out

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 5:08 PM

Wellmont show was the best show I attended in 2010 (that is if we forget about the abominable Sleigh Bells performance as opener).

The Wellmont is gorgeous and I'm more than happy to take the trip to Montclair to go there....its better than T5 and Roseland combined.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 5:37 PM

i just sold my pair for $1,099.99 on ebay within five hours of listing them. joke's on me since i obviously could have gotten more.

and before you get angry: the buyer sets the market, not the seller.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 5:51 PM

got GA this morning but lost it. must have fell out of my scarf while i was dancing

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 5:54 PM

I am losing my edge to the kids that eat more hummus then me.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 6:09 PM

actually (no, i'm not promoting stubhub here) -- you can see which sections they did and didn't put on sale this morning based on which sections actually have tickets.

http://www.stubhub.com/lcd-soundsystem-tickets/lcd-soundsystem-new-york-4-2-2011-1051789/

thing that sucks is it looks like they did put floor "seats" on sale, so the whole floor won't be GA.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 6:17 PM

"the only ticket anyone wants is the GA ticket, which required that you be at mercury lounge this morning. i was [at that place]"

That was only for today, genius. You think they sold out the whole GA pit today? If you think that then you are even dumber than i thought for waiting out in the cold for 3 hours for this shit show. The bulk of Pit tickets will go on sale Friday. And yes people will still be able to get them week of off craigslist and scalpers for face I am sure. That is how i got them for Arcade Fire at MSG and even White Stripes at MSG. So shut the fuck up you little idiot.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 6:25 PM

obviously, tomahawk, you weren't there.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 6:36 PM

This is making me nervous. I'm gonna go stand in line right now just in case Best Coast announces a farewell show at MSG!

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 6:37 PM

Wait. People seriously think they sold out The Garden in a 15-minute presale this morning? Haha, come on. You're not that stupid. You just can't be.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 6:58 PM

The GA tickets are not gone, people. I got Arcade Fire pit tickets like a week before the show, same with Iron Maiden a few years back and tons of other shows. Won't be that hard to get. Chill.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 7:22 PM

Anyone who is complaining is a bitch. James Murphy has done so much for you, don't talk shit about any part of his farewell show. We have about 20 people flying in from all over the country for this shit. This show may be at MSG, but its not like everyone there will be from NYC.
So quit crying and try again on friday.

Posted by Kyle | February 9, 2011 7:34 PM

"James Murphy has done so much for you" is my favorite line of 2011.

James Murphy installed a new marble counter top for my kitchen last year. It looks great.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 9:23 PM

I forgot my lunch the other day and James Murphy showed up at my office with a brown bagged lunch. He even chewed off the crust for me. Great guy. He really has done so much for me.

Posted by Anonymous | February 9, 2011 9:31 PM

After the BP oil spill James Murphy announced a shitty farewell show at a venue that is also hosting rod fucking stewart four days later and then sold me about 400 floor seats so i could sell them for 200x face value and buy a new fishing boat. WHAT A GUY

Doesn't sound like such a bad deal for you then. What are you complaining about?

Posted by Mila | February 10, 2011 12:04 AM

To the person who brought their dog to wait on line with them for three hours, your poor dog was barking at how cold it was and that constitutes animal cruelty.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 12:42 AM

See that person at the front of the line wrapped in the red blanket & blue blanket? Well that's me, and I got to the Mercury Lounge at 4a.m....which I know sounds ridiculous but anything to get GA tickets to LCD's last show!

Not kidding -- if the 4/2 show sells out fast, a second-to-last show will be added on 4/1. Another band has a "hold" on 4/1 at msg, but there are negotations happening. The other band is another huge NYC band that I won't name here. But they have a new album expected march 22 and want to kick off promotion at msg.

i call bullshit on this added show nonsense

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 12:19 PM

12:07 - so, the Strokes. I believe that they have a hold on that date, but I don't think LCD would do that.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 1:12 PM

do not call @3:34 Pinto is a douche

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 1:31 PM

Why wouldnt they add another show?

This is how they make money. As long as the show is not after the April 2nd show, nobody should be upset. And if it is...fuck you oversensitive idiots. Youve been promised a three hour show @ MSG for a reasonable price. Bite it.

And why would the Strokes play the night before LCD? Seems like a heavy amount of cross over audiance.

Who wants to go to MSG two nights in a row? I would, but I dont necessarily want to.

James Murphy announced on facebook Hercules and Love Affair, Hot Chip, Daft Punk will all make guest appearances along liquid liquid...that's what I am talking about!

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 1:35 PM

James Murphy I love you, but you're giving me Daft Punk?

fuck all hummus writers

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 1:39 PM

7:34PM 'James Murphy has done so much for you'

Agreed, this is my favorite sentence of the year so far.

From now on, whenever I make a choice in life, I first think "What would James Murphy do?"

Congrats to everyone that waited out in the cold to get GA pit tickets - I bet you'll have an incredible time. Anyone else that buys tickets to this show is a sucker; you're (over)paying to be decoration at someone else's party. Losers. Have fun in your prescribed .5 inches of seat space at MSG.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 1:42 PM

these hummus guys have to stop. you're ruining it for the fake pre sale, phony special guest and second night added posters.

also, I did hear that this will be the last lcd "show" forever, but that it doesnt include festivals and international dates. I hear LCD is headlining BONAROO

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 1:43 PM

I agree with 1:33. James Murphy has done so, so very much for you.

Also, thanks for the inadvertent tip off.

What was that, vodka?

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 2:30 PM

Pff, who the fuck wants to go to the "second to last" LCD Soundsystem show?

I WAS (ALMOST) THERE!

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 3:30 PM

i love you all almost as much as i love james murphy. i got caught cutting school trying to get tix for this and james pretended to be my dr. and wrote me a note to get me out of trouble. he gave me his last snickers too. it is true, what a great guy he is.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 3:46 PM

they will add another "pre" show, but it's going to be at my house, myyyy house.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 3:47 PM

Total hype-filled trainwreck.

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 3:50 PM

I don't follow, 3:47.

How many tickets did Mercury Lounge sell?

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 7:12 PM

Did Mercury Lounge profit off this?

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 7:13 PM

Tickets go on sale at 11 am tomorrow?

Posted by Anonymous | February 10, 2011 7:52 PM

How impossible will it be to get GA Pit ticks right at 11:00am

predictions for how fast the whole thing will sell out?

I'm setting the Over/Under 10 minutes

Posted by Aaron | February 11, 2011 9:58 AM

GA tickets are a pipe dream... most of them were sold to people at Mercury Lounge (who in turn have either sold them to scalpers or were scalpers themselves). I'm hoping to just get somewhere close enough to the stage.

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 10:05 AM

Floor and 100 level will sell out immediately. The whole show will take a few weeks.

If you are buying 200+ level seats at MSG, you are fool.

James Murphy to scalpers: NEW YORK I <3 U BUT YR BRINGING ME DOWN

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 10:09 AM

Anyone know the GA ticket limit..4?

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 10:15 AM

i'd rather have 100 level than non-GA floor seats.

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 10:16 AM

Why does the Murph-man get so evangelical about scalping now after all 4 T5 shows + the Webster show were popping up on craigslist?

NYC show culture - it's a jungle out there kids.

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 10:17 AM

"GA tickets are a pipe dream... most of them were sold to people at Mercury Lounge (who in turn have either sold them to scalpers or were scalpers themselves). I'm hoping to just get somewhere close enough to the stage."

you're a dumbass. i'd say there were maybe 20-30 scalpers...the rest of us want to dance for 3 straight hours.

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 10:19 AM

"GA tickets are a pipe dream... most of them were sold to people at Mercury Lounge .."

--> False that 'most of them' were sold at Merc. Pre-sale was clearly very limited, not even everyone in line was able to get one. Yes, it will be luck of the draw if you can get one today but majority will be available..

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 10:25 AM

Posted by Anonymous | February 11, 2011 11:14 AM
