Eyehategod

The Eyehategod / Misery Index / Magrudergrind / Strong Intention destruction train came into Europa station on Friday night (2/18) bringing along a sold out crowd (and quite a few fresh faces). If you're familiar with Eyehategod live in their last few rounds, then Friday's setlist wasn't much of a surprise except for new matieral like "New Orleans is The New Vietnam". Watch one of the new songs in a video from the Philly show at the end of this post.

Mutilation Rites also opened the show at Europa, and would later join Woe and We Are All Savages (but not Magrudergrind) for a late-night show at The Charleston.

Ugh, Samantha did you even bother to use the shudder? I'm really starting to question your dedication to Sparkle Motion photography...

Strong Intention used to be a NYC kind of hardcore band in 94. Wow, they're still at it.

Sam, you are awesome!

I see a few pictures, but to anyone who went, how was the crowd?

I'm trying to figure out whether it was worth it to stay home and nurse my hangover wound/ulcer.

if you went to the show with Brutal Truth/Nachtmystium last year, then you didn't miss much. Nonetheless shit was relatively wild on Friday.

^ I actually couldn't make it to THAT show either! I'm SOL when it comes to seeing Eyehategod.

It's possible I stand out in those crowds. For one thing I'm clean shaven, have short hair, shower once a day, and put a little cologne on, LOL!

Strong Intention should really hang it up..

Samantha - why do anonymous people keep criticizing your photos? think it's an ex-boyfriend trying to piss you off?

Posted by bartholomew satz | February 21, 2011 4:33 PM

Probably photo snobs.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 4:55 PM

bartholomew - it's a bunch of shitheads with zero talent or ambition

Due to inclement weather conditions, EYEHATEGOD have been forced to cancel their scheduled appearance tonight at Daniel Street in Milford, CT. The band extends their sincerest apologies to all the fans and friends hoping to rock this evening and plan to return soon to make up the date. Misery Index, Thy Will Be Done, Nightbitch and Guerra will perform as scheduled.

^ What, is the snowstorm that bad over there or something?

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 5:31 PM

Strong Intention sucked and what was allthat about dedicating a song to all the skanks in the room? Keep on playing your shitty music gorillas, ugliest band ever. Magrudergrind were pretty awesome.Eyehategod ruled as usual.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 5:45 PM

looks like another sausage festival

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 9:14 PM

not a sausage fest at all. that room was packed with women. It was an awesome show, minus the exception of Strong Intention, and Sam did do a great job yet again.

HAIR CHOICES - DAVID SANDERSON

Posted by Anonymous | February 22, 2011 1:32 AM

yeah i dunno how strong intention gets on these shows. they are meh at best. they had an LP years ago on six weeks records that was so so but really nothing special. mediocre hardcore played by the numbers. im sure plenty of badass bands would have loved to open for EHG.

Sam - I think you captured the best photo of Mike IX I've seen forever.

Posted by Lainad | February 22, 2011 1:06 PM

Samantha always has killer shots.

Did Mike break beer bottles over the crowd? Were people bleeding? I'll never forget the first time I saw EHG...insane.

Oh, and nice Cavity shirt.

One word-rarrrrrrrrrr

"Did Mike break beer bottles over the crowd? Were people bleeding? I'll never forget the first time I saw EHG...insane."

Huh? Can you elaborate? I'm curious about this.
