Adele sold out already ??
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:04 PM
Ticketmaster needs to reevaluate it's system: 12:00, and all Adele tickets are sold out in all areas? You got to be kidding me. Not sayin' it ain't possible, but it makes me question how things are run there.
Posted by BLG | February 26, 2011 12:05 PM
@12:04 when I put in right at noon I got sold out for the $55, then I tried all areas at 12:01 and got same result. UP is not exactly huge, but really, 12pm ticket sale on a Saturday for a second NYC show? Total BS.
Posted by BLG | February 26, 2011 12:07 PM
adele had a secret unannounced presale on her website a few days ago - that's where all the good tickets went
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:07 PM
Tried for Adele tix at noon and failed. Seriously, it's become impossible to buy a ticket at face value in NYC. I hate scalpers so much.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:07 PM
Mangum tix were a snap today, two in Orch Row T. How it should be.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:08 PM
@1207 If you were a real fan, you would've bought tickets in the presale. As is always the case.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:08 PM
Mangum tix in NJ are a snap because it's unscalpable/will-call only. The Boston show however - with a mail option - sold out instantly.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:09 PM
@12:07 I have resigned to just putting a craiglist notification on my phone and I scoop up tickets from people who are pulling out or have extra tickets for most shows these days. Sucks, but it usually works.
Posted by BLG | February 26, 2011 12:09 PM
ugh, took 2 not so good seats for mangum at exactly 12 because i thought it would sell out fast, then proceeded to pull much better seats for the next 10 minutes. oh well, at least im going.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:12 PM
@12:08 If I were to sign up to every artist's email list just for pre-sale info, my phone would blow up and I would have more label spam than my old Hotmail account. No thanks, I will continue to take my chances.
Posted by BLG | February 26, 2011 12:12 PM
Adele's 'real fans' have already posted hundreds of tickets on stubhub.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:19 PM
was ANYBODY able to pull Adele tickets since they went on general sale 25 minutes ago?
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:27 PM
Looks like Adele's show was pre-sold out...
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:33 PM
Yeah, I was able to get about a dozen. Haven't posted them for sale yet but probably will start at $175/ticket.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 12:37 PM

now adele can buy some more hamburgers
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 1:29 PM
Who seriously listens to Adele? I can't tell if their joking or not.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 1:33 PM
Still Mangum tix available for Loew's .. see how civil things are when there are no scalpers jamming up ticket sites..
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 1:36 PM
there's no fucking accountability from the Source. I'm thinking that Ticketmaster doesn't give a flying fuck about this site/ where we get to whine about how we get shut out/wait...maybe TICKETMASTER DOES have a concern what gets said here / bc as long as the bitching stays HERE/ THEY WON'T GET CALLED ON THEIR SHIT/HOW THEY RUN THEIR BUSINESS/ It sounds like this system of purchasing tickets is old and broken and a new way has to be the norm.Do you think you have NO RIGHT to know how tickets are sold or distributed for popular shows? Well from the actions or (non) actions taken by Ticketmaster so far in regards to the hoopla over the LCD (MSG) show and now Adele/ It sounds like they think you don't/ If you don't know the 'whats so' .. all you're doing is making it up. I don't know whats so.. so thats why I say let TICKETMASTER get accountable and address how tickets can get sold for a massive venue in less than a minute.Getting tickets for a show shouldn't be such a fucked up experience as it is these days..
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 2:48 PM
it has become impossible to get tickets for the big shows. I was at adele site at 12 and did not get the ticket window until 4 min later. Same thing with LCD - screen came on at 6 min after 12. They are using this time to give tickets to professional insiders.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 3:00 PM
2:48, what the fuck are you trying to say? Have you ever heard of a period?
3:00, what the fuck are you talking about? As a "professional insider," I can honestly say you are an idiot. I love how you can just make up a claim and shoot it off as if it were a fact. No, you idiot, Ticketmaster does not hold off your browser while allowing other "insiders" to buy. The simple fact of it all is that you're an idiot and you do not know what you're doing.
Brokers/scalpers/etc are buying and buying hard. You're sitting their with your one browser expecting a good shot, when the reality of it is that you don't have a chance in hell. It's like trying to have a bike race with Lance Armstrong. There are no favorites. You're just stupid and terrible at buying tickets.
Maybe you're right though. I'm sure there's this massive conspiracy between Ticketmaster and "professional insiders" to prevent you from buying your upper balcony pair of Adele tickets.
Right.

"Who seriously listens to Adele? I can't tell if their joking or not."
Man I was thinking the same thing. How pathetic these schmucks crying over Adele. I mean her new record is just so bad. Plus why would you want to see her at United Palace. A perfectly shit venue for singer songwriter type artists. But just to ease your fears losers. There will be so many tickets available on craigslist for face or cheap week/day of show. It will be a fire sale for sure. Not to mention scalping for cheap outside United Palace is so fucking easy. It is the biggest inside joke in the NYC concert scene.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 3:14 PM
what im saying is SOMEONE has to be accountable for what occurs as unworkable. And given that I buy my tickets from my TICKETMASTER. TICKETMASTER IS ACCOUNTABLE.And as a customer I have a concern. And any business worth their salt/or had integrity/ would be interested in a customers concern/and TICKETMASTERS response.... is no response/ you would not be having this fallout if they addressed it responsibly/ I've heard or read nothing in regards to customers concerns /3:11 i accept your 2 cents because you are the source.you're an 'insider'. You're the spokesperson for Ticketmaster. Thanks for listening to us.No,instead you TELL us how it is. you're just as big an asshole.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 3:54 PM
3:14, what the fuck are you talking about?... you're so angry about Adele and the united palace theater... biggest inside joke in the NYC concert scene??... you must not enjoy very many things... do you even like music??
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 4:00 PM
I also was not able to select tickets for Adele until a few minutes after the sale started. My friend was able to select them at noon. The same thing happened when TV On The Radio tickets went on presale. I'm not going to throw away bullshit conspiracy theories, but it's definitely something new Ticketmaster is pulling. Not everyone is able start looking for tickets at the same time for some shows. So much for fair chance.
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 4:00 PM
3:14 back again to reply to fuckwit 4pm. I am not angry at Adele or United Palace and i love music. That is why i speak the truth. Adele's new record is crap. Don't take my word for it. The majority of critic reviews(not that they are really anything) have been bad as well. As for United Palace, yes the place sucks. Unless you are in the first 5 or 6 rows. Even then for artists like Adele the place is even worse. I enjoy music so much that I will not go to a place where the sound is sub par(unless of course it is someone i am dying to see and can't see anywhere else)
But yes getting cheap tickets from scalpers up at UP is easy and experienced concertgoers know it. The location being so remote is a major factor. The times I have gone there to see a high in demand sold out show I have always gotten a ticket outside for at most face value. For Neil Young and Bob Dylan they were practically giving them away.
Got it, idiot?
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 4:26 PM
4:26, you need to get some anger management counseling. (And the UP is not remote, especially if you are familiar with mass transit.)
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 5:21 PM
5:21, you are an idiot

There is one poor soul on BrooklynVegan who is angrier than everyone else, and always posts about the following things...
-How stupid other people are because they do normal things
-How much more elite he is due to his refusal to see anyone at any venue anywhere (always citing a vague sound issue)
-How LCD Soundsystem and Arcade Fire are terrible
-How MSG should be burned to the ground, and anyone who buys tickets to a show there is a "laughable moron"
-Any size venue sucks because it has bad sound.
-How ticket prices always, always, always come down
-Resorts to words like "fuckwit," "loser," "moron," and "schmuck" when dealing with regular people
-Uses "shit" as an adjective
Dear angry guy,
please continue to make BV my #1 stop for humorous internet conversations. thank you!
Posted by Anonymous | February 26, 2011 7:02 PM
^The only thing worse of course would be the pathetic guy who thinks it is one person making all of these comments and somehow they are angry.
Possibly you might take a minute from laughing 7:02 and try to make some sense of the sad conspiracy filled life you lead.
Although I am guessing you don't realize the last laugh is on you.

Actually, Jeff Mangum can only move so much product. Demand's coming down. I mean the guy has about 20,000 fans in this country. It's not the Beatles.
Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2011 12:13 PM
"Who seriously listens to Adele? I can't tell if their joking or not."
Sadly, I think they are serious.
I believe most of Adele's fans are those that rave about anything NME tells them they should like, so that they can tell their friends: "oh, I was into XXX way before you".

anybody with coupon code for regular ticket sale?
Posted by crispin glover | March 4, 2011 12:03 PM
The worst ticket buying process I've ever had. Worse than Ticketmaster in the late 90s. Having the presale password (from yesterday) still work today was just complete BS. I know there had to be a lot of people locked out due to the exclusivity of the password. To get the password, you needed to be a registered user of Elephant Six's forum for some period of time or have posted more than some specific number of posts to get the password. I know why they are trying to get tickets into fans hands, but there are plenty of NMH fans that don't know what E6 is (nor should they really, its only really still alive because of 2/3 bands).
Whatever - got my single by some unreal stroke of luck and by clicking refresh 500 times.
Posted by crispin glover | March 4, 2011 1:55 PM
For real. I couldn't even tell you what Elephant Six is but I got a pair.

It's amazing how you morons miss the point. Ticketmaster is not the problem. It's the promoter of the show (and, as is almost always the case, it's Bowery Presents).
THE PROMOTER decides how many tickets go on sale to the general public, which seats go on sale and also takes a cut of the Ticketmaster "Convenience fee". Ever notice that Live Nation shows carry a higher fee than Bowery Presents? If it was just a TM fee, it'd be flat. Not the case.
I can't believe how blind everyone is to the fact that your beloved "local" promoter, Bowery Presents, is holding back tickets to sell on the secondary market (probably in partnership with said artist). It's not Ticketmaster that's the problem (well, sure, they could do a little better at trying to detect those bots brokers are using). It's the LACK OF FUCKING TRANSPARENCY. If someone said "hey everyone, for the Adele show, we're only releasing 1000 tickets to the public for a 3,100 seat theater" these instant sell-outs would make a lot more sense.
But, I know, feel free to keep blaming Ticketmaster for everything. And, no, I don't work for them and have had plenty of issues with them in the past but let's all at least try to point the finger at the right culprit.
