Terminal 5

As previously mentioned, tickets to the four LCD Soundsystem shows at Terminal 5 go on sale Tuesday, but now we also know the exact time, price, openers, and a lot of special rules. LCD says:

basic bullet points to know:

-monday and tuesday, march 28 & 29 will feature liquid liquid.

-wednesday and thursday, march 30 & 31, will feature shit robot live.

-tickets for all four terminal 5 shows (march 28/29/30/31) will go onsale via ticketmaster at 9.00am on tuesday 22nd.

-there is a two ticket per person limit.

-the cost of a ticket is $40.00. ticketmaster charges will be $6.90 plus $2.05 per order handling fee. (that's the best we could get, apparently)

-(as an attempt to avoid the "secondary market") there will be no hard tickets. the only way to get in to terminal 5 on the nights of the shows will be to show i.d. at will call and then immediately enter the venue.

-we're told that ticketmaster will also sweep the online purchases daily and delete any duplications from potential scalper bots. (please come to the venue early on show nights - the line for entry may be long). if the tickets for the shows don't sell out very quickly, we'll stop the duplicate ticket thing and allow people to buy tickets for multiple nights. (just want to make sure all who want to go get a ticket before "multiples", if that makes any sense).

-oh... and we can't do a walk-up ticket buy at the mercury lounge box office this time (w/o ticketmaster fees) because those are only the hard tickets, which can be sold afterwards. (yes, i asked about putting names on the hard tickets.)

-more important: we're as bored of this ticket stuff as you are, so let's just have fun a few last times, and then get some food! 2 more liquid liquid shows! the new york debut of mr. shit robot live, maybe featuring some guests! loudness and lights! fancy stuff!

It's awesome the band is going out of its way to stop scalpers, though unfortunately this is a key statement: "please come to the venue early on show nights - the line for entry may be long.", There's also no mention of a way to give your tickets to someone else if you can't make it that night, and I'm not sure how someone without a credit card in their name can get tickets. Also, as they point out - there's no way to get tickets without fees now. That all said, this is not a new debate, but which way would you prefer?

Liquid Liquid is also opening the MSG show.

lol

You pay fees with every ticket you buy. Once that ticket hits the secondary market you pay the fees three times. Once from ticketmaster, once from the middleman who gets the ticket and sells to the end broker, and once from the online shopping cart on stubhub/ticketsnetwork.

Who doesn't have a bank account? Kids and bums. WHO GIVES A FCK.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:34 PM

3000 people on will call. have fun.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:35 PM

This is going to be a nightmare to get into each night. Everyone on will call? Christ.

Still going to try and find a way into MSG instead of this.

7 1/2 inches???

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:39 PM

All hot ticket shows should be will call only. Kudos to LCD. Arcade fire should have done that on the neon bible tour when it was impossible to get tix in some cities.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:39 PM

Awesome, I just wanted to see Liquid Liquid. Too bad I have to go to Terminal 5 to see them.

Anyone that doesn't have a bank account probably shouldn't be spending fifty bucks to see live music.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:41 PM

I once saw Prince at Terminal 5 (before it was called that) and all tickets were will call. The line wrapped around to halfway down 55th st. Many people got in after Prince started playing. It took close to two hours.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:42 PM

2:29 :>

but terminal 5 does totally suck.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:43 PM

Thanks LCD! 8 inches of hummus coated love!

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:46 PM

Bitch, bitch, whine, moan, but seriously those fees seem a skosh high.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:47 PM

Wow you really are all retarded.

Kudos to LCD Soundsystem. I don't even like their music, but this is something that a band that cares about its fans does. So what if the line will be hell - would you rather stand in a longass line or not go at all? Right. Suck it up. Sure the sound at T5 is crap, it's better than MSG, and a lot more intimate. Try saying "wow, thanks for the effort" instead of pointing out the few 'problems' (will-call only, have to have a credit card, transfer ticket names etc).

Or just pay $x00 to go to the MSG show and perpetuate the legal scalping you complain so much about.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:47 PM

Am I reading this right in that they're saying that there will be a 2 ticket per person limit across all four shows, unless the shows don't sell out?

I was planning to go to as many as I can, but I'm happy as long as I get to one.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:48 PM

For every minute of LCD soundsystem, people going to these shows are going to have to go through 30 minutes of internet restrictions/line waiting. Fuck that.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:50 PM

"would you rather stand in a longass line or not go at all?"

I'd rather not miss the first 20 minutes of the set because will call is a shit show

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:51 PM

So, uh, did the Strokes sell out their date?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 2:54 PM

How about finding out where all the tickets that were supposed to be sold for MSG are currently hiding. Look on StubHub. Suspiciously few tickets available for most of the first section above the floor. Practically none!!! If scalpers have them, they'd be on sale. Something fishy here and the smell still permeates. Cancel the Garden show. Clearly a large portion of the tickets have been bookmarked for chosen people or have yet to be made available to common folk. It doesn't appear there was ever a chance to get tickets in these choice sections. Cancel the show and make them eat hummus!!! I appreciate the effort in adding more shows, but Terminal 5 sucks. I wish that dump would close down. Concert going in NYC took a turn for the worse the day that shit-hole opened up.

Posted by MJK Soundsystem | February 20, 2011 3:05 PM

there are no conspiracies. LCD sold out their MSG show. Scalpers buy tickets no matter what. Chill out people and be happy that there are now five shows!

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:08 PM

if shit robot is irish why isnt it shite robot

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:11 PM

What James is basically saying....

1) We held off couple hundreds tickets for our friends for MSG show
2) We didn't use our brain and let the promoters who are associated with secondary markets aka scalpers get most of the tickets
3) We love Ticketmaster so we'll just let the fans pay up an extra 22% or so with the service charges.
4) Now I can finally retire and make this extra $250,000
5) Thank you BV hipsters for buying all the tickets next wk

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:11 PM

3:05 if you're insinuating that James is holding tickets, I advice you fuck off

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:12 PM

Posted by EAM Soundsystem | February 20, 2011 3:13 PM

haha -- nice photo research and titling Brooklyn Vegan!

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:14 PM

I actually can't believe that people are actually bitching about this/James. He has clearly expressed how pissed off he is about the scalper thing, and he's doing more than any other bands ever do to make sure that their fans get to see them. Obviously theirs flaws to this system but it's much better than the shit show that was buying tickets for their msg show

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:16 PM

i can assure you there are non-scalpers who got msg tix during the presale. at 10:45, i pulled 3 tickets in section 126.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:17 PM

People in the secondary market have already found a way around this YEARS ago. Tickets already going for well over $200.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:24 PM

3:12 if you're insinuating that James is holding tickets, I advice you fuck off

Try spelling properly. Advice? Come on. I think you meant advise. Can't we all share hummus in peace and harmony?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:30 PM

NIN did this fine at all the NYC venues, including terminal 5, 2 years ago. if LCD does exactly what they did, there will be no problems.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:35 PM

Let's not forget there's a 2 ticket limit, so we're talking about at least 1500 people waiting in line per show. They better have a shitload of people checking ID at the door or you're going to have a lot of unhappy people missing the first half of their set.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:38 PM

LCD Houndsystem is eating hummus at my house.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:39 PM

What level does the snarky sarcasm reach with an unhappy hipster?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:42 PM

ha, the people that work the door at T5 are super slow. whoever goes to this show should come real fucking early. it's pretty funny to see people go ape-shit for such rubbish.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:46 PM

Come to Gibbons' Markets. Squash is on sale.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:49 PM

Nobody should blame this on James Murphy. I think he is doing the best he can considering the MSG ticket fiasco and how that all went down. That said, where are all the MSG tickets that are supposed to have gone to the scalpers? Where are all the first level tickets nearest to the stage? Where? Where?

Posted by MJK Soundsystem | February 20, 2011 3:50 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:53 PM

Anyone go to Nine Inch Nail Terminal 5? Paperless only with a line going around the corner. Hours waiting just to go in and that was a 4 ticket limit. Hope everyone likes staring at the west side highway

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:54 PM

I brought dinner for the line at T5 for NIN. It was at least an hour, all the way down under the overhang, down to 12th Avenue. And I had a friend keeping our spot, so he waited even longer.
This will be worse because 1) more people, and 2) T5 doesn't give a shit.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 3:59 PM

Is that picture from the US Festival in '83?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 4:05 PM

why do you people treat yourselves to this dogshit?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 4:25 PM

what incentive will terminal 5 employees have to move the line quickly.. none that I know of. to them it's just a job. what about those 'ticket (less) holders who have to work and can't get to the show early? Sounds like they're screwed..what's early? hope the doors open 'earlier' bc the first band is going to be playing to alot of empty real estate.Shaping up to be a lame experience..I'd like to see some answers to these / and other questions that are being posted..Who's accountable for managing the door? I'd love to hear what their word is in regards (Customers concern's) to how entry is going to work with velocity and smoothly. This isn't bitching.. this is just asking people to be accountable.so far so good/ but it isn't finished yet as you can see by questions posted by myself and others

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 4:44 PM

Well the bottom line is "you guys wanted a way for the scalpers not to be able to buy tickets and here it is, take it or leave it."

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 4:53 PM

you guys are being kinda disengenous (sp?) about how NIN went down at T5. Yes, the line was all the way down 12th street and very long. BUT, that's also bc people started lining up very very early for the show bc they didnt know what to expect with the ticket situation. when they actualy did open the doors (on time), the line moved as quickly as one can expect considering how long it was. it was constantly moving and i know i got in before the Horrors and Mew both started in diff. nights, and i was all the way down 12th street.

that being said, fuck LCD Soundystem. worst music.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 4:54 PM

Says the guy waiting in line for fucking Nine Inch Nails. At least it gave you plenty of time to put on your black lipstick and eyeliner before you got in.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 4:56 PM

James Murphy is a chickpea eating man. He means well, and is trying to do what is good, but he isn't letting the chickpeas soak long enough so his hummus is coming out a bit grainy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 5:41 PM

What's the sense of checking for the mythical "scalper bots" if all tickets are on will call?

If they add enough shows to satisfy the demand, scalpers will get screwed no matter what. This will call/paperless nonsense will only screw the fans. James is in bed with Ticketmaster, which is the biggest scalper of them all.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 5:57 PM

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 6:20 PM

To all you haters who hate on the entire electro indie scene I send a big fuck you your way. I am so sick and tired of your bullshit about how Terminal 5 sucks (IT DOESN'T) and how these bands that have a gigantic following play terrible music (THEY DON'T). I am so sick and tired of hearing about how your taste exceeds those who love to rock the fuck out to bands like LCD Soundsystem. Seriously just shut your trap. Do yourself a favor and go to Terminal 5 in the spring when the rooftop is open and relax.

And I also send a big THANK YOU to LCD Soundsystem for being a band that responds to their fans. Unfortunately though, I despise the fact that I have to pay money to the giganto-shit-corporation called Ticketmaster. That corporation does not give a flying fuck about its fans. Its only priority is creating a profit and providing a return to its shareholders. In fact I would almost rather support a person who's raping me for tickets then give Ticketmaster money. Fuck Ticketmaster, fuck StubHub, shows should be just show up and pay money at the door, first come first serve. Stop making concerts into a fucking commodity.

Posted by frustrated with haters | February 20, 2011 6:25 PM

What if I buy tickets and change my mind and decide not to go? What then James Murphy?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 6:27 PM

The conspiracy theory goes like this: LCD Soundsystem’s promoter, Bowery Presents, owns Terminal 5. By holding back most of the MSG tickets, secondary-market prices would be sure to skyrocket. The way that MSG is structured, the coveted general-admission area in front of the stage is actually pretty small, which means that it’s quite easy to generate a handful of headline-grabbing offers of tickets for sale at $10,000 apiece or more. If they wanted, LCD’s promoters could even put those offers up themselves, and then encourage the band to complain in public about the exorbitant prices.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 6:37 PM

Who really cares about the Terminal 5 shows? The MSG show sold out instantly because it is the last show. The T5 shows are just shows, they don't have the "last show" allure. All the fans have already seen LCD, why bother with T5?

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 6:39 PM

@6:39 because it's still the LAST time that they'll be seeing LCD. duh (at least until the reunion)

...and as far as Terminal 5 sucking (IT DOES), and your ideas being half-baked (THEY ARE), I send a big fuck you your way. I am so sick and tired of your bullshit. Seriously just shut your trap.

is punches going to dj the will call line????? ELLO 12TH AVENUE

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 9:01 PM

What I can't understand: Why doesn't James/LCD let people know EXACTLY how many tickets were actually available for regular fans for the MSG show? They must know, because all the financing would depend on them knowing, and if they were to let people know it would stop all the rumors about why a lot of tickets for several whole sections of MSG are not being offered for resale, on stub-hub etc.

Posted by MH | February 20, 2011 9:08 PM

8:25, shut the fuck up you enormous jackass.

I just know you listen to all your music on mp3 and tell any scant amount of friends you have that they sound great. "Fuck vinyl or cd and listening to music on a good stereo. My Ipod and mp3's sound amazing"

Unfortunately this piece of junk is why these shows at these crappy venues are generating this stupidity.

The music and how it sounds is the last reason these dumps are going.

Ok, that's all I've got.

Yeah, it is. I fucking hate the sound at Terminal 5. But I cannot stand self-righteous audiophile snobs like yourself who put down other people just because they aren't as sound savvy as you are. News flash - most people can get by just fine without investing in expensive equipment just to hear a few extra layers of sound. Stop acting like such a condescending child.

Possibly the biggest MORON who has ever made a comment in here. You are a laughable piece of shit. So idiot, when you and your buddies are going to go out to dinner and they suggest a nice restaurant, do you instead say nah let's go to Burger King, we can get by just fine without paying to have food with a little better quality.

Wake up and learn dummy, it is not a few extra layers of sound. It's not wanting to listen to something you love in a very degraded state from which not only did the artist intend you to hear it but also missing parts of the music that have been removed to compress something very big into something very small.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 2:15 AM

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 7:41 AM

I'll just take my team of 8 "brokers" and usher buyers in all night. Yeah, JAMES you really stopped us you miserable soul.

Same thing as the NIN "wave goodbye" shows. Yeah, it's really hard to crack this code. The artists will never win. Long live the SCALPER!

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 7:56 AM

The argument that the "scalpers" got all the tickets is Bogus. There were never more than 600 tickets on Stub Hub for a 16,000 seat show.

Do you know most shows at MSG have about 2,000-3,000 seats of inventory on Stub Hub?

The FANS got most of the tickets and when there is a very LIMITED pool of tickets on the secondary market. It explodes. It's not rocket science. Scalpers got very few tickets actually, idiots.

So blame your other stupid fans for getting shut out at MSG.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 8:00 AM

I would blame them, if only I could find a single fan who actually got tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 8:05 AM

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 8:29 AM

I wish these rules had been in place for the MSG show. I don't live in NYC so having the final show on a Saturday was good scheduling for me. Some of us have jobs that don't afford us enough time off to make a trip out to a big city during the middle of the week. If there's anything I've learned from this, it's that I'm glad I don't live in NYC because it really seems like getting tickets to any show is ridiculous.

I can't wait for the day to come in 15-20 years where people are pining for LCD to reunite just like they do for Talking Heads, but it won't happen, because LCD are one in the same mentality as Talking Heads.

Posted by MH | February 21, 2011 9:01 AM

No, I mean that they're one of the most important bands of our generation that have defined a sound and changed music from here on out.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 9:15 AM

Great.. Plan C

I am a scalper...Ill get my fucking tickets and sell them near by.

jA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by ANO-nimus | February 21, 2011 9:23 AM

My friends actually contacted an LCD scalper on Craigslist this past weekend, planned a meet up with him and then gave him a shakedown. I don't condone violence, but I really don't pity the scalper in this event. The guy threatened to call the cops but they were smart enough to plan the ticket exchange near MSG so the guy would have screwed himself over in the process. Good times.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 9:39 AM

i do not have a credit card or an id, how will i get tickets?

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 9:52 AM

James is not a crook, stealing your heard earned money! He's an accomplished musician who can in fact sell out the Garden.

1.) Stop complaining about where all the tickets went just b/c you couldn't get one!

2.) Celebrities get free stuff and special treatment...you are nobody, so you don't get ANYTHING!

3.) LCD is good but in no way, whatsoever, comprable to the Talking Heads!

4.) If you think James doesn't desreve this money or has charged too much for tix...march into your manager's office right now and tell them you'll take a decrease in pay since you are wasting their dough while acting like a stupid tw@t on BV.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:08 AM

i want free stuff and special treatment

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:12 AM

9:39 am, please tell more. This is getting interesting. Be right back, going to make some popcorn...

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:12 AM

@939 - define 'shakedown,' because what you did actually sounds pretty messed up

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:26 AM

How embarrassing to be roughed up by hipsters. I bet they still paid him though, & this story is probably embellished.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:28 AM

10:12, they met the guy near MSG and said he was your typical non-LCD fan/scalper type in plain no-style clothes in his early 30s. There were three of my friends there, and they asked him how many tickets he'd sold so far and for how much. He said he'd already sold 3 at the same price they were "paying" ($200). After humoring him, they asked to see the ticket and as he was taking it out of his coat, one of them grabbed his arms from behind while the other apparently grabbed him by the neck. From there, they shoved him around and called him all sorts of names. They managed to get him on the ground but he snuck out from under them and when he was about 20 ft away they saw he was phoning the police. When they asked what he was doing, they point to MSG and said, "And you're scalping tickets just feet away from the venue. Who are they going to believe?" He ran off and that was done.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:30 AM

without LCD, there would be no talking heads.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:39 AM

Wow, that's pretty ballsy. I would have been curious to see the ticket(s) to confirm if they were fakes or not. I've been seeing a ton of ads lately on CL, a couple of which I got responses to, that were clearly fake. Shady business, indeed.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:39 AM

I heard those guys tickled the scalper with their ironic moustaches.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:41 AM

If that's true, that's pretty funny. I "scalp" tickets. Not that I'd ever use Craigslist to sell but it would be quite a hoot if three faggot, hipster, LCD Soundsystem fans tried to "jump" me. It's on the same lines of Charlie Murphy's recount of Prince playing basketball.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:41 AM

I'm amused at the assumption that all three of my friends were "faggot, hipster" types. They definitely dress the part but then again one of them played hockey during school and still does now, another is just pretty tall and the other is just kinda scrappy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 10:45 AM

...& the Anaheim Ducks are his favorite team.

i put up posts and you kept flagging them. But ultimately I won and sold my 2 GA tickets for 1000 dollars. This was an epic showdown and probably the highlight of my scalping career. You put up a good fight but at the end i was the winner. Even though I am the winner and you are the losers, I am sad now that this will have to be our final showdown as this is the last LCD soundsystem show and that a-hole murphy put restrictions on the T5 tickets so no scalping there. Please know that even though I defeated you I never lost respect for you. You put up a good fight, an honest fight, and I admired your resolve. I wish there would be a round 2 but alas, this is it. So farewell LCD Soundsystem fans. It was an honor scalping tickets to your final show. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. take care guys :)

We should all move to New Jersey...BTW Hipsters are faggots.

Posted by ANO-nimus | February 21, 2011 10:54 AM

10:51 - I agree that is way too much money for Blue Jackets games.

oh please, do tell. i would pay money to hear this fucking statement backed up.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 11:12 AM

You wouldn't understand, @11:12am. Your mind is already made up and it'll be your loss. I just hope that if you have kids one day, they looooooooooooove LCD to death and think you were really uncool for not liking them back when they were around.

"No, I mean that they're one of the most important bands of our generation that have defined a sound and changed music from here on out."

Just when I thought this thread could not find anymore morons posting, suddenly a new one emerges.

A statement like the one above is so pathetic I almost feel sorry for the mentally
challenged person who made it.

Oh and if anyone of you actually believes that story about the 3 guys shaking down the scalper or the scalper who posted he sold his 2 ga's for 1000 dollars, please spend less time reading BV and more time attempting to figure out why you are such a dumb motherfucker.

Didn't this article settle the LCD Soundsystem/Talking Heads debate a long time ago?:http://thenewgay.net/2010/11/new-gay-icons-%E2%80%94%C2%A0lcd-soundsystems-nancy-whang.html

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 11:56 AM

I don't understand all the negativity toward the LCD Soundsystem/Heads comparison. The only difference between the two's careers are the Talking Heads had a few big hits but then again, that was the '80s.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:01 PM

I think a better comparison is James Murphy being really similar to the fellow who works the early shift at mamouns falafel

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:08 PM

"I don't understand all the negativity toward the LCD Soundsystem/Heads comparison. The only difference between the two's careers are the Talking Heads had a few big hits but then again, that was the '80s."

The only correct thing you said in this comment was that YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. Sorry but all i can chalk that up to is that you are a clueless imbecile.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:29 PM

$50 tickets?

If theses are unscalpable, fan-only tix, why not $25?

And dont give me bigger venue = bigger individual cost crap. Its club exit, not a stadium.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:31 PM

I didn't want to put up with the shit trying to get T5 tix (for a fucking weeknight no less) so I just broke down and got stubhub MSG tix. Spit on me if you will but you pay a premium sometimes in life and this is one of those times. I also don't believe the prices are going to drop for MSG once T5 goes on sale. In the overall context, there are NOT many tix on stubhub given the size of MSG.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:32 PM

The MSG show had better be fucking massive. The T5 shows probably the standard 90 minute set with no change in the setlist (remember last year?).

James - don't let down the MSG fans that did get tix and we'll all remember the "three hour set" build-up. Anything less and we'll rush the stage and kick your chubby ass.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:39 PM

"I also don't believe the prices are going to drop for MSG once T5 goes on sale"

Clearly then you do not have a clue as to the concert business in NYC or scalping. But hey, a fool and his money are easily parted. For those that understand and have patience, you will find you can get tix (including GA) for at worst face value come the week of the show.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:40 PM

11:12, 11:49 and 12:29 is David Byrne.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:42 PM

$50 is a lot for tickets to T5. I know Murphy is trying to make good, but it sure does seem like a money grab at that price.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:45 PM

I always found LCD Soundsystem more comparable to Oingo Boingo than Talking Heads.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 12:50 PM

lots of people don't like lots of bands. who cares if you don't like lcd? some people do. talk about the bands you like and try to enjoy yourself.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 1:12 PM

BASTION BOOGER IS THE NEW WORLD CHAMPION!

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 1:16 PM

LCD will play the same exact set at all T5 and MSG shows. They always do.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 1:20 PM

Just found this festival on governors island(http://www.governorsballmusicfestival.com/)....Could LCD be on this bill?

Posted by Yum-Yum Beats | February 21, 2011 1:40 PM

At this point, I'm not even sure it's worth the effort to try to go for one (or any) of these shows. Somebody convince me otherwise.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 3:07 PM

You should just go see James Blake play tennis and play a live show in one night.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 3:18 PM

He really does that?

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 3:36 PM

3:18, no but there is a tennis player with the same name.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 3:43 PM

I don't know about my dreams. I don't know about my dreamin anymore. All that I know is James Murphy is fallin allin for my hummus.

Get this, a horse walks into a bar. The bartender looks at him and says...

"Why the long face?"

No one is properly addressing guy from Sun @2:48's question. It's the only one of relevance in this thread:

"Am I reading this right in that they're saying that there will be a 2 ticket per person limit across all four shows, unless the shows don't sell out?"

A lot of questions/reservations I have about this.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 5:43 PM

Seems the reason to do this is to limit people seeing the show multiple times so that everyone gets a chance to see them. if the shows don't sell out, lcd will consider dropping this rule. this way the maximum number of fans get a chance to see the final shows.

Posted by Anonymous | February 21, 2011 6:02 PM

I have the solution. LCD plays outdoor in Central Park. I mean they're at least as big as Garth Brooks and Bon Jovi.

oh wait I'm talking to hipsters....what do they know!

I'm excited for both. I'm excited for shows of music I like. What say you?
