Princeton

Princeton played mostly new songs at Mercury Lounge last night (2/24), their first of three NYC shows this weekend. Before the show they had a very non-vegan meal next door at Katz's Deli with Chris La Putt who photographed them there and at the show. All of those pictures, including one of their setlist, are in this post.

NJ's The Front Bottoms, who had to cut their set a bit short due to a broken guitar string, opened the gig. You can also catch them Saturday night in Manville with Titus Andronicus and at other upcoming NJ shows which are listed at their MySpace.

Porcelain Raft (and Aislyn) played the late show in the same venue last night. Chris didn't stay for it though, so maybe he'll catch 'em tonight (2/25) at Glasslands.

Princeton's next shows are at Cameo tonight (2/25) and at Union Hall on Saturday (2/26), both with Bell and Erika Spring of Au Revoir Simone. Takka Takka also plays the show tonight. More pictures and a video from Mercury Lounge (and of pastrami...), below...

you know what's great about katz's? when you go there late at night and they yell at you for not understanding the ticket policy or sitting in the wrong area or questioning any of their retarded rules. that's what.

Set cut short due to a broken string. I'm sorry but you kids today and your bands are a bunch of sissies.

Send some hummus to your boy in the army.

Posted by The Mighty KC | February 25, 2011 11:05 AM

Why does it cost $15 for a sandwich at katz's?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:17 AM

I find it funny that they did a photo shoot at Katz's for a website that promotes veganism.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:23 AM

After the show they helped me with my taxes. Thanks Princeton.

Why would I want to listen to a band called Princeton? Horrible name.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:56 AM

I thought that Princeton decided to call it quits after all the hate on BV yesterday. . . What gives!?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:21 PM

Those fellas are totally going to be in their element in Park Slope.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:25 PM

Sandwiches are $15 dollars at Katz's because they are awesome and of superior quality. If you don't believe me, try one. Eat half and have the other half for another meal later. It doesn't look like any of the band had any. Their loss. They're probably vegetarians or something. That would explain ending their set after breaking a string.

11:17 doesn't get new york delis price system, they don't have that many of them in ohio.

Posted by me | February 25, 2011 1:24 PM

So would this be the Princeton Review?

Ending the set b/c of a broken string, you gotta be kidding me.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 1:34 PM

Are you an idiot, 1:34? It doesn't say Princeton cut their set short.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 1:47 PM

hahahaha...park slope princeton. will they have time to send their nannies to the co-op before the set at Union Hall?

Posted by PSP | February 25, 2011 1:52 PM

No, 1:47 - you are. First sentence had nothing to do with the second, hence the carriage return.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:04 PM

You make no sense 2:04. Please jump in a lake full of AIDs.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:18 PM

Lake of AIDs(sic) Personally I expected more from a Princeton fan.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:23 PM

Ironically they were gonna close the show with a new song called "Lake of AIDs(sic)", but a guitar string broke.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:27 PM

Why can't the lake be full of AIDS? Maybe it's not an AIDS based lake, but a water based lake that happens to have a lot of AIDS in it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:52 PM

Princeton = White people influenced by white people influenced by a white guy influenced by black people.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:53 PM

Everytime I walk past Katz I hold my breath because the stench emanating from that place is disgusting.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 4:01 PM

the mothereffin front bottoms!!!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 4:16 PM

is that why the show was so lame? cuz they were full of pastrami and corned beef?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 7:23 PM

^ Yes, plus guitar strings were broken and Silverlake sucks compared to Billyberg

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 7:32 PM

well at least their band name suits how they look and what their music probably sounds like.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:37 PM

Can you "lake of aids" people do something more productive with your lives? You know, like attempt to talk to chicks, and then fail miserably. At least it would be a couple of steps up.

I agree with everything 1:07 PM yesterday said.
