na, just playin, radiohead is great.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:25 AM

So wait, do I have to pay for this album? What was the whole point of that pay your own thin last time?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:25 AM

the point was to show that if you're a band as big and as good as radiohead, you can release music fo' fwee,

everyone else: screwed.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:27 AM

people forget, the only thing you got for free with In Rainbows was 160k mp3s

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:31 AM

This is going to backfire. We are all spoiled from last time when we got to play pricing gun.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:32 AM

New music is good, but how will the help solve the CLIMATE CRISIS??

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:36 AM

my what terrible artwork..

Posted by Dan Dollar | February 14, 2011 9:37 AM

yesssssssss

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:39 AM

Radiohead were great on the Grammys last night, backed up by Mumford & Sons.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:41 AM

nice, in the running with kanye for worst cover

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:42 AM

didn't they part ways with Nigel during In Rainbows only to bring him back in the end?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:44 AM

will grow to like the artwork...

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:49 AM

I wonder how Yusuf Islam feels about this...

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:50 AM

This is better news than anything that BV has posted all year long....

yet we'll get less comments than 400+ comments by LCD cause hipsters don't know any better....

fuckin idiots

Radiohead > LCD

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:50 AM

prediction: this album will mark the decline of their output

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:50 AM

prediction: you thought in rainbows marked the decline of their output

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:51 AM

the artwork is fantastic.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:54 AM

agreed. kind of rare for a band to have aesthetically pleasing artwork anymore. stop hating.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:55 AM

Most overrated band ever.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:56 AM

At the risk of getting an audiophile beatdown: What RPM does a 10" use? It's not something in between 33 and 45, is it? I don't have a setting for that. I'm thinking it's just 33, the same as an LP?

Posted by ginafly | February 14, 2011 9:57 AM

Who cares about artwork? This is the digital age you fools!

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:57 AM

I'm sure it will be 33 RPM... theoretically a 7" record could have a 33 rpm as well as a 12" having a 45rpm. I have a few disco singles on vinyl that are on 12" but because the songs are like 8 minutes long it's played at 45RPM to fill up the entire side

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:59 AM

just dropped the $53 for the record + .wav files (and i'm not rolling in cash trust me..). anyone complaining about having to pay for a record by the best band since the beatles is just being cheap. NEW RADIOHEAD RECORD.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:00 AM

the emperor's new clothes

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:04 AM

If you don't like Radiohead, then fine, you don't like Radiohead.

But to say, "overrated," or "Radiohead sucks," is ignorant and plain wrong.

Posted by Dan | February 14, 2011 10:06 AM

Best. VDay. Day. Ever.

And 9:12 Thommy (sic) could care less about the Arcade Fire win, trust me. Sounds like you do, though. You in line for the Gaga record?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:16 AM

Attention sheeple, you are commanded to buy this radiohead® product and rave about its awesomeness.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:21 AM

hahhahah no one will care about LCD's last shows hhahaahhah

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:21 AM

If you do not have a record player that plays 10" at the correct speed, you cannot hear this record. They will sell you a 10" record player for an additional $139.99 however.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:23 AM

The artwork is really cool, whatareutalkingabout? It is a little creepy/scary though.

Posted by Ralston | February 14, 2011 10:26 AM

new radiohead record? check. American apparel deep-v t-shirt? check. ironic facial hair? check. oversized glasses? check. now I finally feel like an unique individual.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:36 AM

But it was not your fault but mine
And it was your heart on the line
I really fucked it up this time
Didn't I, my dear?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:39 AM

bonnaroo announcement tmrw, i hope radiohead is playing there

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:39 AM

Who?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:44 AM

Yawn

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:47 AM

I hope Radiohead is playing Bonnaroo as well because I really want them to stick it to Coachella. I've felt betrayed by Coachella ever since they announced that horrible lineup, won't be going, hate that it sold out so quick and think it'd be nice to see their main rival hand them their ass with a much better headlining grab (Because people will seriously be pissed they chose Coachella over Bonnaroo thinking Radiohead wasn't a possibility, and people would go to Bonnaroo just for Radiohead no matter who else plays.)

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:02 AM

Coachella, Bonnaroo, same shit.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:06 AM

haa coachella is similar to bonnaroo in that they are both multi-day music festivals... that is pretty much it tho

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:11 AM

I very much love this band.

Not sure if I can invest $48 into a record that I have no idea will be good or not, you know?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:16 AM

Dan - If someone doesn't like Radiohead and the majority of people do like Radiohead then it follows that they are overrated in that person's eyes.

Posted by GW | February 14, 2011 11:21 AM

itl be good

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:21 AM

bonnaroo is a day longer and music goes until 4am every night. bonnaroo > coachella.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:22 AM

Sony Music to lay off hundreds in the coming weeks

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:26 AM

just another run of the mill Pitchfork Jerkoff complex, I can't believe you buy into this shit. MEDIOCRE. Find better bands to like.

Posted by ironic superiority complex | February 14, 2011 11:27 AM

"o·ver·rat·ed,
To overestimate the merits of; rate too highly. Radiohead."

Go ahead, argue with Webster.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:42 AM

^ Haha, couldn't agree more.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:49 AM

A well-placed source tells me this is actually a Thom Yorke solo album - a capella Lil' Wayne covers (pre-Carter III era)

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:58 AM

Radiohead has already played at Bonnaroo, Coachella and Lollapalooza so maybe ACLfest is in the cards for this year. It would also explain why they moved the ACL dates back to the middle of September when it's still super hot in Austin instead of leaving the festival dates in October. But who knows...

Posted by Austin Texas | February 14, 2011 11:59 AM

11:16 - you can't possibly "very much love this band" if you can post such a ridiculously lame comment. not sure if it will be good or not?

you obviously can't be familiar with radiohead's music if that's a dilemma for you.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 12:04 PM

The first newspaper album was actually Jethro Tull's Thick As A Brick LP which came in a NY Times style fold out newspaper.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 12:04 PM

@11:58: Wrong! King of Limbs is a Phil Selway solo album of ukulele covers of Dresden Dolls songs.

The one lucky winner is going to receive a 12" of Phil and PJ Harvey in her new little girl voice doing a mash up of Coin Operated Boy and NMH's Two Headed Boy.

Fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Rules for all Bklyn Residents

1 - Buy ironic slogan/rock tour T-shirt

2 - Mess up hair

3 - Wear something unique & "different" showing how special you are

3 - Call Radiohead overrated, confirming how special you are

4 - Join a band with a ridiculous name, confirming how special you are

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 12:16 PM

Most interesting thing in these comments: Mention of Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 12:26 PM

#5- Write a witty checklist, confirming how special you are.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 12:27 PM

Alright, who's having a listening party?!

Posted by Sharon | February 14, 2011 12:40 PM

# 6- complain about whatever venue band plays in

# 7- try to implement new memes. Person who overheard couple talking next to them at show about their genitals, I'm talking about you.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 12:49 PM

huge chance radiohead will be at bonnaroo. when they played in 2006 thom said it was a great festival and has also been quoted saying it's their best concert ever.

also 10in records play at 45

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 1:00 PM

#9 .. get some booty on Valentine's Day! Woohooo!

Psyched to hear this record and see them on tour!

Posted by Burg | February 14, 2011 1:00 PM

I remember these guys. didn't they have a song, something like "I'm Creepy" back in the nineties?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 1:01 PM

hahha props to Anon 12:16pm!

so true:)

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 1:07 PM

9:12 AM 2/14: Yeah, doofus, because Thom Yorke knew who was going to win the Grammy. Grow up.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 1:43 PM

So, Radiohead is playing Madison Square Garden on April 1st?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 1:48 PM

"Thom Yorke sat a piano singing, 'This is fucked up' for half-an-hour. We all know that, Mr Yorke. Who wants to sing the news? No matter how much you sit there twiddling, going, 'We're all doomed,' at the end of the day people will always want to hear you play Creep. Get over it." - Noel Gallagher

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 2:22 PM

Posted by progresso soup coupons | February 14, 2011 3:48 PM

"also 10in records play at 45"

You're an idiot. The diameter of the record is unrelated to its RPM.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 4:34 PM

So wait, who is this Arcade Fire?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 4:36 PM

@11:16. if it's not good, it will redefine what good means, thus becoming good in its own right.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 5:27 PM

This post would've been past 400 comments if the album was instead named "King of Hummus"

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 5:50 PM

How come WASTE didn't notify me about this? They seemed eager for me to buy t-shirts around the holidays.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 8:26 PM

Radiohead announcing their new album the day after Arcade Fire graduated to rock stardom, is their way of saying, congrats- but take a back seat. I mean, cmon at least have your big news a day later or something

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 8:56 PM

Eat shorts.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:08 PM

mumford and sons is the dave matthews band for hipsters

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:27 PM

I totally agree 927. I do not see even the slightest difference. Same group, one just has less black guys and a different model fiddle.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 9:42 PM

mumford is closer to hoedown territory than dmb. prominent banjo. foot stomping. more urgent vocal quality than dave, and harmonies.

Posted by drewbie | February 14, 2011 10:30 PM

"Most overrated band ever."

You're in the wrong thread. This isn't the Arcade Fire win Grammys thread.

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 10:51 PM

complain complain complain.
hate hate hate.

They write their own music, and it is interesting fun music. As grumpy as Thom can get, he is nothing but loving to his fans when they play live... They do awesome stuff like surprising us with a new album as soon as it is ready for us to hear... all great stuff for a fan.

If you don't like their music, then keep it to yourself, unless you have an actual argument not just a flame.

What ever happened to positivity and love of art..?

Its so much easier to tear something down than to support it, isn't it...?

Posted by Anonymous | February 14, 2011 11:59 PM

It's also much easier to scarf down a bowl of hummus then to prepare a platter.

CABS ARE HERE

Posted by Anonymous | February 15, 2011 12:59 AM

so wait....what exactly was the deal with These Are My Twisted Words then? I guess that will be on this record?

Posted by Anonymous | February 15, 2011 1:01 AM

People on here hate Radiohead? God, hipsters are seriously THE WORST people in the universe. I'd rather have Brooklyn filled with Al Qaeda.
