Radiohead

"The band just sent out a tweet with a mysterious Japanese text which translates as 'Hachiko Square Shibuya, Friday 18:59', referring to the square in Tokyo, Japan. Is it a webcast, a surprise show or are Radiohead just giving us something to do?" [At Ease] (thx Hiro)
In related news, Kelly Clarkson of "Since You've Been Gone" (and stuff after that) fame says her new album "was influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead." Hmmm. Radiohead's new album is out this Saturday. The band's co-manager Chris Hufford says...
"that the move to make Radiohead's eighth studio album The King Of Limbs available to download on Saturday February 19 via bespoke website thekingoflimbs.com, more than a month before a physical release via XL Recordings, is a "logical progression" from the release strategy behind previous album In Rainbows.

He explained that Courtyard and the band learned what aspects of the In Rainbows release worked and what aspects did not during the campaign. The decision was made not to take an 'honesty box' approach with The King Of Limbs, as they had with In Rainbows."

Jonny Greenwood meanwhile is hard at work on a new score, and tickets are on sale for a NYC perormance of another.

Totally off topic but the last time I saw a Radiohead broadcast, there was this amazingly annoying couple who were not only talking in the background but were talking about TMI info. The guy kept asking her "Do you like my seven and a half inches? Do you like my seven and a half inches? Is it the biggest you've ever had?" Yeah bro you're cool

Don't make fun of Kelly Clarkson, she's cute.

I feel like this new album is going to be filled with an infiltration of dubstep, too stripped down and maybe kinda boring. I mean, Radiohead has to have a hiccup sometime right? I also don't care much for the album art so far. It reminds me of Return to Cookie Mountain. Prove me wrong, Thom, but I think my fellow BV readers can agree we're all swingin' our erect cocks in the air in anticipation for this one, letting the man chow seep deep into the sheets until Saturday.

I'd like for this album to be universally disappointing, just to see how all the fanboys react.

Posted by Anonymous | February 17, 2011 10:00 AM

Who cares? Unless the show is local, the news is not that important.

Posted by Anonymous | February 17, 2011 10:00 AM

woohoo

Posted by Anonymous | February 17, 2011 10:25 AM

This probably won't be of any significance unless you are in Tokyo on Friday.

@10:29 Good call. Last time I checked Tokyo was in Japan, not NYC.

Posted by Anonymous | February 17, 2011 11:19 AM

Tickets to Japan are sold out. Damn scalpers.

Posted by Anonymous | February 17, 2011 11:42 AM

I was in line since 7:45 but no luck. All the scalpers at the front of the line in Hanshin Tiger hats had a field day.

***totally off topic but everytime I read that comment regarding the amazingly annoying couple who were talking about TMI info, I always think back to a time when I brought a rather large container of hummus to a house party and when everyone was gathered around dipping their pita triangles into it I recall asking them, "Do like my seven and a half inch bowl of hummus? Do you like my seven and a half inch bowl of hummus? Is it the biggest you've ever had?" Yeah bro you're cool'
