"It's Friday... It's almost the weekend...It's a full moon.... You can download 'The King of Limbs' now if you so wish! Thank you good people for waiting ... Have a great weekend wherever you are...." - Ed

radiohead

Radiohead have brought forward the digital release of their new album "The King Of Limbs" by 24 hours with the album now being sent to those who pre-ordered it earlier this week. It is also available for new orders through www.radiohead.com at a fixed price of $9 for MP3, $14 for WAV.

With everything ready on their website, the band decided to bring forward the release rather than wait until the previously announced date of Saturday, Feb 19 to deliver the music.

Orders for "The King Of Limbs" "Newspaper Album" special edition are also still being taken at www.radiohead.com . The made-to-order deluxe editions will come in a unique "newspaper" package and will contain "The King Of Limbs" in three formats--on two clear 10" vinyl records, CD and instantly available digital download-as well as artwork exclusive to the special edition. The "Newspaper Album" edition will ship May 9, and is available at fixed prices of $48 for the version including an MP3 download, and $53 with WAV.

A video for the track "Lotus Flower" can now be seen [BELOW]

The general CD/vinyl U.S. release of The King Of Limbs will take place March 29 via tbd records.

Album out now! Video below...

Totally off topic but the last time I saw Radiohead, there was this amazingly annoying couple who were not only talking during the whole show but were talking about TMI info. The guy kept asking her "Do you like my seven and a half inches? Do you like my seven and a half inches? Is it the biggest you've ever had?" Yeah bro you're cool

Dance, Thom! Dance! What a great way to end the week after what unraveled (LCD ticket debacle, Arcade Fire, the Radiohead album being announced, Jeff Mangum tour dates, The Strokes ticket debacle and the Radiohead album coming out a day earlier than expect.)

Honey to my milk, this week's musical teet is overflowing with warm, post-birth sweetness!

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 8:38 AM

Let me premise by stating, Radiohead is my favorite band...new song is cool but this video is cringeworthy. It's seriouisly awful....did Jonny, Phil and the gang actually think this was a good idea?

Fun to see Thom have a mid-song convulsion during a show but really don't need to see a produced version of this first thing in the morning.

Regardless, can't wait to hear the new album in full!

you can safely assume that anyone who talks/brags about their size is SERIOUSLY challenged in terms of length, width and girth.

thay say it doesn't matter, but girls secretly laugh at you.

"Dancing With Myself"

On the floor of Tokyo
Or down in London town to go, go
With the record selection
And the mirror's reflection
I'm dancing with myself

When there's no-one else in sight
In the crowded lonely night
Well I wait so long
For my love vibration
And I'm dancing with myself

Oh dancing with myself
Oh dancing with myself
Well there's nothing to lose
And there's nothing to prove
I'll be dancing with myself

If I looked all over the world
And there's every type of girl
But your empty eyes
Seem to pass me by
Leave me dancing with myself

So let's sink another drink
'Cause it'll give me time to think
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to dance
And I'll be dancing with myself

Oh dancing with myself
Oh dancing with myself
Well there's nothing to lose
And there's nothing to prove
I'll be dancing with myself

If I looked all over the world
And there's every type of girl
But your empty eyes
Seem to pass me by
Leave me dancing with myself

So let's sink another drink
'Cause it'll give me time to think
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to dance
And I'll be dancing with myself

Oh dancing with myself
Oh dancing with myself
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to dance
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to dance
If I had the chance
I'd ask the world to dance

[Scat]

Dancing with myself
Dancing with myself
Dancing with myself
Dancing with myself

If I looked all over the world
And there's every type of girl
But your empty eyes

Leave me dancing with myself

I agree with Tiki, on the grounds that it's just not funny.

So what does the album sound like? Guitar driven like rainbows? Electronic like kid a? Somewhere in between? Let's try talking on topic for a change.

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 10:36 AM

the only way to properly enjoy my seven and a half inches is on vinyl

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 10:38 AM

If I wanted to hear and read the things on 2guys1musicblog, I would just go here or to Pitchfork or to Stereogum or to Consequence of Sound or to any other music news site out there considering they'll have the news hours before 2guys1musicblog does. Just a word of advice.

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 10:40 AM

not really much guitar. bass lines are sick and stand out the most to me. again phil selway is for me one of the most unique drummers out there, honestly nothing flashy about his playing on this album, but all the percussion sound amazing.

it's most similar to amnesiac than anything since. listen to it with a really nice pair of headphones. i only heard it once on the way to work, but i thought it was great. and you know radiohead albums only get better with repeat listens. last two tracks are absolutely beautiful

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 10:40 AM

i bet you this guy is embarrassed two days from now: http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2011/feb/18/radiohead-king-limbs-first-review

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 10:53 AM

Haha that's so dumb. It should be editorially unpermissable to publish a review of an album less than 24 hours from the time you were actually able to listen to it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 11:02 AM

10:36, do you play music? Do you play an instrument? You just escribed both of those albums fine, the guitar work on In Rainbows is staggering and Kid A ISN'T an electronic styled album? Fucking hummus.

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 11:05 AM

I think its quite admirable that a band like radiohead, with a special-needs singer, gets treated just like a normal band.

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 3:34 PM

do you think radiohead releases their new albums like this to underride their quality?

i feel like when an album is released in this manner, i usually don't expect as much from it - it's like they are just throwing it out there; so if it only ends up being 'okay' or 'kinda good' you usually don't make a fuss

Posted by Anonymous | February 18, 2011 3:41 PM

I like their guitar driven albums more. I liked In Rainbows significantly better after sitting with it for a day.

The p4k number will be 9.1 for anybody depending on that to make a decision in what they like or not. and I am certain 334 was making a joke, 6:47.

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2011 10:25 AM

true with a lot of teh comments,

where is jonny tearing up the guitar?

like it better then amnesiac and kid a but still not close to being top 3 of their albums

in rainbows much better record

ok computer>king of limbs
the bends>king of limbs
in rainbows>king of limbs
pablo honey>king of limbs
hail to the thief>king of limbs
king of limbs>kid a
king of limbs>amnesiac

That's my take

Should we start a pool of what the pitchfork grade is gonna be? It's no kanye, so I'm gonna say around 8.5. Vote!

9.1

I really liked it on my first listen, but I'll wait for P4K to tell me whether it's any good.

I went to a listening party for this album and it was just a bunch of dudes fucking each other's faces. I was all like "gross" and they were like "what?"

ok computer
kid a
in rainbows
the bends
the king of limbs
amnesiac
hail to the thief
pablo honey

my thoughts. i like the new one but it could use some more guitar, and a few more songs. still good stuff.

Remember when Radiohead used to rock? This album us boring as hell. Give me The Bends, OK Computer and Kid A any day over this snoozer.

thats my exact opinion 117. Get out of my brain!!!!

But I can see the king of limbs surpassing the bends in a month or so.

Maybe it's because I've only listen to the album once, but nothing is visceral about this album. I'll replay it tomorrow but not one track jumped at me, and I wasn't looking for it either, I'm not a music snob.

I for one am quite glad that Radiohead has chosen to alienate the segment of their so-called fans who believe that if it doesn't have a lot of loud guitars and a beat you can bop your head to, it's not good. This album is fantastic, and if you don't get it don't come to their shows this summer, please.

this is why so many RH fans are assholes. you think if someone doesn't like one of their albums its because "they just don't get it" I'm not sure what there is to get. Either its good or it sucks. This album has a little bit of both

Posted by Anonymous | February 19, 2011 6:14 PM

nope, 608p is right.. you don't get it.

Sabra! You gotta get the humus from Sahadi's on Atlantic Ave. That is the real deal! So good!

BV commenters on the Sistine Chapel: "Meh, it's not bad..."

i dig this record and i love weird radiohead but i think codex sounds like an in rainbows c-side.

internet is abuzz now with a theory that this is only the first half of the record (b/c of the lyrics of the last track). it's weird that the record is so short so maybe they'll drop half 2 on us like a bomb.

The Bends was good.

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 6:10 PM

sounds pretty boring to me

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 6:22 PM

8.2

Posted by Anonymous | February 20, 2011 6:40 PM

7.9...that is a failure in the eyes of p4k. I thought it would score higher, not that that matters of anything.

COLIN GREENWOOD PLAYED EVERYTHING.

Just got the physical album, as well as the new P!ATD. Probably the best pair of albums I'll buy all year.

Think "Breakfast at Greenwood's"
