Last album (and tour) was great. Excited to hear this album.

Yea....no tour this time around though:(

I wonder why....

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 1:37 PM

Yeah, the last tour was great. Hope they keep as many old songs in the set as last time.

they should play bowery... that would be awesome

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 1:39 PM

Looking forward to this!!

Mine Smell Like Hummus.

No tour? They rocked MSG. And from what I heard, the rainy show at Jones Beach was great as well.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 1:45 PM

is that moby?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 1:45 PM

The rainy show at Jones Beach was great. Bummed about no tour.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 1:57 PM

What year was the last album they released?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 2:02 PM

^2008

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 2:06 PM

Goshdardnit 1:45 stole my mojo. Was going to type. I love Moby.

Just because they haven't announced one doesn't mean there's not going to be a tour...I highly doubt they won't be doing any shows for the record.

And yeah, the rainy show at Jones Beach was great once they finally went on. So. Central Rain was a nice addition.

Not a huge fan of newer REM but I'd still catch them live in a second. By just listening to their records you wouldn't automatically assume they were a fantastic live band - but they definitely are.

^ it was mentioned on REMHQ that there will be no tour! At leats Mike said something in an interview saying as much...

2:34 still one of the best live bands!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 2:36 PM

Shit, that's a bummer about no touring. Band is always awesome live.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 2:48 PM

According to the picture posted above, they are touring without Mike, and now Moby is the lead singer.

hmm... i think R.E.M. and Mission of Burma are BV's only sacred cows!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 2:52 PM

Mike Watt too, no one complains when he comes up.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 2:55 PM

Mike Watt played on a Kelly Clarkson album.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 3:00 PM

^ WHAT? I MEAN WATT? P

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 3:06 PM

Notice that the only acts that don't get bashed on BV are acts in which the members of the band refuse to wear deodorant and eat nothing but hummus platters.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 3:25 PM

Moby is heading up REM now?

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 3:25 PM

I dunno, I've hung out with Mission of Burma. They smell fantastic and I've only seen them eating burgers.

If Behold... The Arctopus ever decided to get a vocalist, it should be Michael Stipe.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 3:48 PM

@1:45 you win. I was gonna say that, too.

Posted by Carnie Voyeur | February 24, 2011 4:21 PM

I thought Michael Stipe died of AIDS...i guess he's in the Magic Johnson phenomenon category

Posted by VABrian | February 24, 2011 4:43 PM

More like R.E.OLD!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 4:47 PM

Naw, he only looked like he had AIDS. And he wouldn't be in the Magic Johnson phenomenon since Magic never had it, just HIV.

^Neil Hamburger ladies and gentlemen, Neil Hamburger

Smassshhh Moouuttthhh!

Thank you for the compliment. NH is the maestro indeed!

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 5:15 PM

stipe wanted to much money, so they got moby

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 5:27 PM

M.E.H

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 5:32 PM

yawn

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 5:46 PM

Michael Stipe wrote the book on pretentiousness way back when the current crop of beard growing, thick-framed glasses wearing hipsters were just so much hummus in their daddy's ball sack.

Honey found in Egyptian tombs perfectly preserved.
R.E.M.'s shelf life clearly expired.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 7:53 PM

7:21 made my day.

Posted by Anonymous | February 24, 2011 8:10 PM

They could change their minds. They've done so in the past. I remember a no tour vow after Up was released, yet they went out less than a year later, so perhaps in the Fall they'll play some shows. I hope they do. The Accelerate tour was phenomenal, and this record seems like it would sound great live.
