At first all that was showing up was Disability seating.

Posted by modage | February 25, 2011 11:02 AM

literally sold out in less than a second. bullshit

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:02 AM

Nothing's coming up at 11:02 and at 11:00 all they offered me was section 406.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:02 AM

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:03 AM

yeah... something was def f*cked up with this...

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:03 AM

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:04 AM

I can already see the scalpers smiling.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:05 AM

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:05 AM

i got a lot of love for this band, but come on, they didn't know this was coming after what happened with lcd? it's kind of shitty. can you not do the will call thing at that venue because it's too big?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:05 AM

Thank god ticketmaster helps out small mom and pop ticket brokers.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:06 AM

yeah, this is not selling tickets anymore...it's waving them in you face as the prices skyrockets on stubhub

Man, if I lived in NY I would be uberpissed being they are from NY (right?) and they are playing for FREE @ SXSW

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:06 AM

LOL at 11:04

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:07 AM

I'm pulling single tickets in the 200's and 300's as we speak...

Posted by Scott | February 25, 2011 11:07 AM

the strokes are actually from west babylon, long island. common misconception.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:08 AM

This fucking sucks! NOTHING AVAILABLE.

jeff mangum sold out in .5 secs too.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:09 AM

All of you sold out long ago

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:11 AM

It said earlier no more tickets available and now it is working again... sketchy!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:12 AM

overpriced, so who cares

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:15 AM

Obviously Ticketbastard learned nothing from the Boss fiasco. Time to shut the cunts down permanently and let only the venues control their own ticketing.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:16 AM

Go back in time and see them when they were good like I did

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:17 AM

hey brooklyn vegan -- you can make the site green again.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:18 AM

Just pulled up one in section 110, keep trying

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:19 AM

i guess i better go find a spot for the free Stroke show at SXSW now

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:21 AM

@ 11:08 - GENIUS!!!!!! mwo 4 life

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:21 AM

1,700 tickets for sale on Stubhub. Yeah, that isn't an issue. Bowery Presents should be ashamed of themselves.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:22 AM

poop

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:23 AM

Awesome Day! Got some Mangum tix, got some Strokes tix, it's Friday, and its Payday. Life is good today.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:23 AM

if you know a ticketbroker, punch him in his scumbag face!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:23 AM

tried getting 2 tickets @ 11 - sold out.
tried getting 1 ticket @ 11:01 - sold out.
tried getting 1 ticket @ 11:24 - got it.

what the hell? so sketchy and inconsistent.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:24 AM

"Awesome Day! Got some Mangum tix, got some Strokes tix, it's Friday, and its Payday. Life is good today."

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:26 AM

why don't you lazy fucking bastards pick up a phone and call when the tickets go on sale? got 6 pits the second they went on sale over the phone.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:27 AM

lazy? cause calling on the phone takes a lot of effort? and do i really need to be called a "fucking bastard"? your mother would be proud.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:28 AM

"why don't you lazy fucking bastards pick up a phone and call when the tickets go on sale? got 6 pits the second they went on sale over the phone."

really? how much are you gonna sell them for on stubhub, scumbag?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:28 AM

11:28 don't talk to your father that way

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:30 AM

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:31 AM

"why don't you lazy fucking bastards pick up a phone and call when the tickets go on sale? got 6 pits the second they went on sale over the phone."

really? how much are you gonna sell them for on stubhub, scumbag?

probably $199 or so/ticket. unless you would like to give me more.

Posted by julian casablancas | February 25, 2011 11:33 AM

Phone Sales?!??! This isn't the 1990's and we're not trying to buy Jimmy Buffett tickets. Next thing you'll be telling us to go wait on line at the nearest Tower Records that has one of those ticketmaster machines.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:33 AM

I just got some too...they suck but whatever!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:35 AM

"lazy fucking bastards". that is a bit much to lay on people whose major crime is not getting good tickets to a concert. maybe you want to tone down the vituperative rhetoric and try being a productive, decent person today, the world could use it. thanks.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:36 AM

Lazy fucking bastards.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:37 AM

Thanks to Stubhub, I got tickets to Bon Jovi at MSG for $20 yesterday. Regardless of whether you think Bon Jovi sucks, we had a good time. You can get that kind of last minute deals all the time. Long live the free market. Move to China if you're not happy.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:37 AM

it sold out so fast cause longwave is opening up for them!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:37 AM

Actually, he is right about the phone. I was not trying to get tickets for this show, but many times in the past I have been able to get premium seats for shows that sell out instantly by being on the phone. I will be on the phone at the same time as online, and always have better luck on phone.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:37 AM

Lazy fucking bastards that like shitty fucking music.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:38 AM

cuz there is no captcha over the phone they get in right away

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:38 AM

just pulled 2 section 110

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:41 AM

wait, Longwave is still around?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:43 AM

I just got 2 tickets to John Waite at BB Kings by using the phone.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:43 AM

via phone actually works?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:44 AM

@11:41....sure you did.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:46 AM

the phone is a good idea. how about writing something to the effect of, "i actually used the phone to call up and got great seats" rather than "die you fucking lazy bastard scumbags"

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:46 AM

die you fucking lazy bastard scumbags

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:47 AM

@1146, i did nigga!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:50 AM

the phone is a good idea. how about writing something to the effect of, "i actually used the phone to call up and got great seats" rather than "die you fucking lazy bastard scumbags"

sorry, mr. manager. i'm not in a "carefrontation" mood today.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:51 AM

Just pulled shitty tickets at 11:54, but I will be damned to pay $120+ for two tickets. Meh.

Posted by BLG | February 25, 2011 11:55 AM

tons left

keep trying

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:56 AM

Do you fucking morons realize that this happens with nearly every single in-demand show - that it may be impossible to get through online for a few minutes, but if you KEEP TRYING, tickets, way more often than not, will pop up. I know you are all special butterflies who shouldn't have to lift your finger more than twice to click a mouse and get floor tickets, but don't come on here at 11:01 complaining about "sold out instantly" if you only buy tickets once a year for brogan fests such as this one.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:57 AM

Hey 11:37. Who gives a shit about Bon Jovi? How about the fact that a large portion of the tickets to the Strokes show never went onsale to the public? MSG, Bowery and The Strokes don't care about releasing tickets to fans if it means that everyone can benefit from resellers kicking back a percentage of the ticket sales.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:58 AM

tix still available but they're in 300's

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:58 AM

Tons of tickets still up with Obstructed View.
Fuck that noise.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 11:59 AM

literally just got in the 200s

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:01 PM

You guys are bitching so much. Why don't you get creative? You know those guys scalping tickets outside MSG night of? Well they're all in the same crew, not individual scalpers. It's a money pyramid.

Just get that guy to tell you where his boss is. You take it from there.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:01 PM

the tickets available look like they were just added as they are slightly behind the stage...not worth the money

Posted by meme | February 25, 2011 12:01 PM

"Thanks to Stubhub, I got tickets to Bon Jovi at MSG for $20 yesterday. Regardless of whether you think Bon Jovi sucks, we had a good time. You can get that kind of last minute deals all the time. Long live the free market. Move to China if you're not happy."

In China you can sell tickets for half price last minute too, I hear their Stubhub encourages giving them away though.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:03 PM

Tico 'the hitman' Torres

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:06 PM

there's plenty of single tickets close to the floor either behind/side of the stage.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:09 PM

in russia tickets buy you!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:14 PM

pulled a single in back section of 300...sale is winding down buy soon before sells out if you need one still!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:30 PM

so i just realized why brooklynvegan plastered the site with the strokes direct-to-ticketmaster link.

fhttp://www.ticketmaster.com/event/1D004650952D3456?camefrom=CFC_BOWERY_BVSTROKESTO

see the "camefrom" parameter? if you bought tickets using that link, bv gets a cut.

not that that's a bad thing (i'm happy giving them a share), but it would be nice if they were transparent about it.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:38 PM

genius, bv is getting paid a pretty penny for the advertisement itself.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:42 PM

um, you haven't exactly stumbled upon some big conspiracy. it's called ad revenue

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:43 PM

Struggled for an hour...pulled either nothing or garbage...struck Sec 63 gold at about 12:10 EST. Keep trying...

Posted by Funderburgh | February 25, 2011 12:48 PM

section 63 you'll be staring at the audience more than you will the strokes

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:50 PM

^ Strokes aren't so good looking so what is the loss!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:54 PM

Hey, Vegans gotta eat too

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:54 PM

Its 1pm and I pulled a 300 towards the side/front. This is how the LCD on-sale should have gone...

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 12:58 PM

@ 12:50 -

I don't know anyone who wouldn't be happy to pull Sec 63 for a high-demand show. Also, my head can turn to the left slightly, so I think I'll be fine.

Posted by Funderburgh | February 25, 2011 12:59 PM

the strokes msg sidebar link today on BV is really irritating me.

Posted by beast | February 25, 2011 1:01 PM

12:38...that is advertising....not editorial content....you weren't under the impression that BV did that skin just because he thought it looked neat, were you?

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 1:04 PM

Tico Torres comment almost made me spit out my DUNKACCINO! LOL

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 1:31 PM

still pulling singles in the 200 and 300's

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 1:49 PM

there are def tickets available for sure. Hurry and get them

Posted by face | February 25, 2011 2:06 PM

1:49 If I was still dating I would hope to pull singles in 20's!

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:14 PM

@12:38 - that's a tracking code for the promoter. i work for a promoter and we use those same codes - it let's us track how many tickets we sell from this particular promotion, so we can tell if it was worth it or not and if we want to run such a promotion again in the future.

give bv a break.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:15 PM

That was actually pretty witty, 2:14

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:34 PM

i am eating breaksfast and thinking about stroking my rod

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:38 PM

@12:38 That's why this site is ALWAYS posting ticket links. While they're laughing about all this LCD/Strokes bs, they're cashing in

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:40 PM

2:15 is wrong. When I tried to explain the details of why, I got this:
"Thank you for commenting.
Your comment has been received and held for approval by the blog owner."

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 2:53 PM

yeah, your comment was read before you even posted it, and that's why it is awaiting approval.

*cough*retard*cough*

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 3:09 PM

No, it had some key words in it that BV filters. That's why it was held.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 3:11 PM

what would those key words be

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 3:12 PM

Ok, you are really dumb. BV doesn't filter comments manually. There are a series of key words that trigger that "Your comment has been received and held for approval by the blog owner" command. Those posts never see the light of day.
Since I tried to post about a 20 line response explaning how bv makes money from the ticket links, I can't say EXACTLY which words triggered the filter, but it did.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 3:25 PM

Listen here... This ticketmaster ticket conspiracy reminds me of a time when chickpeas were on sale for .89 cents a can at whole foods. I went there bright and early with hopes of loading up my shopping cart, but alas when I arrived at the store, they were sold out! I asked to speak with the manager and an older gentleman with a rather large mustache came out and greeted me with a firm handshake and a smile. When I explained to him my frustration about the situation, he told me not to worry for there was 4 cases in the stock room and soon they will be delivered to the shelves. He said that it's the stores policy to only put out small amounts at a time in order to prevent absolute pandemonium in that specific section of the store. (apparently shoving matches and elbows to the gut have been know to occur when massive amounts are relinquished at one time). Needless to say, the large mustached man made a call on his walkie talkie and soon enough I had my carriage filled... So strokes fans, I hope my story puts you in a good mood, and may you all get a slice of your hummus pie.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 3:29 PM

Well, when legitimate concert-goers log on TM as soon as tickets go on sale only to have them sell-out immediately, there's something wrong. I don't care if you are a "hustler" (people still use that term?), you shouldn't be profiting off people who only want to see a concert which is too expensive to begin with.

On Fri, Feb 25, 2011 at 2:33 PM, Laurence Brinkmeyer wrote:
You are the piece of shit. You have never met me once, nor do you know what I do, but you come out of no where and call me a piece of shit? look in the mirror buddy. Dont be mad that im a hustler trying to make extra money in this dog eat dog world we live in. Asshole.

You are a piece of shit. Why do you people feel th need to make excessive money off legitimate fans of the band? Not too many people were able to buy face value tickets because of idiots like you.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 3:58 PM

@2:53 - i'm not wrong! i do this for a living. the company i work for runs promotions on bv sometimes so i'm pretty sure i know what i'm talking about.

the link is to tell how many tickets bowery sold through people clicking this direct link on bv.

if they sell a lot, that in turn can mean that bv can charge more for his advertising bc it clearly does well for the promoter, but he does NOT get a cut of each ticket sold. if that was how advertising worked, concert promoters would make WAYYY less money than they want to.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 4:08 PM

^ craigslist scalper exchange? I had one of those myself the other day when some misanthrope tried to sell me a Beach House ticket for $65

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 4:16 PM

3rd try to get through the filter. Words spelled wrong on purpose.
beevee is a member of an afiliate program with TM, get a small persentage of each referrd sale. The progrem is run by a company called buy dot at.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 4:21 PM

@ 4:16: yea, it was actually much longer, but it doesn't let me post the whole thing. The guy was a real dick.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 4:25 PM

4:21... who cares. it's not exactly a scandalous program.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 4:30 PM

I didn't say it was. The site provides a valuable service and makes money through various means. Nothing wrong with that. I was just explaining why 2:15/4:08 is not entirely accurate.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 4:40 PM

Still worth trying to get tix - at 5pm I couldn't get two together but I got a single in 221, then tried again 5 mins later and got another for the next seat beside it. Bizarre. Happy with 221, much happier than paying some scalper dickhead $200 for floor.

Posted by Anon | February 25, 2011 5:19 PM

Pulled up section 40 about two minutes ago...

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 6:55 PM

Just pulled section 124 Row B seats 9 and 10. Too bad I live in los angeles otherwise I would have bought them.

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 7:23 PM

just got a single for section 10

Posted by JOhn | February 25, 2011 7:34 PM

@ 734, I'd be jealous of you if you weren't going to a Strokes show at MSG by yourself

Posted by Anonymous | February 25, 2011 7:43 PM

haha... yeah thanks. after pulling and passing on 300's and 400's this morning, i had to do it.
