Congwadulations Twent
Posted by Anonymous | February 27, 2011 11:10 PM
Jesus Christ. "Street Art" is the artistic refuge of the vapid.
I am going to go make some "Toilet Art" and then some "Jizz Art"
Then it's off to bed for some "Get Up Early For Work Art"

Kings Speech now replaces Crash as worst Best Picture fail since Goodfellas lost to Dances with Wolves. Dammit Scott Rudin I was counting on you!
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 12:03 AM
are you kidding, kings speech was on top of its game, it was one of the freshest topics seen in awhile.....

Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 12:26 AM
kings speech was definitely better than crash or million dollar baby or hurt locker. toy story 3 should have won though.

The best movie of 2010 was an indie movie titled...
"lord of the hummus" I believe it was filmed in Williamsburg too.

jay leno likes to ask black people if they have seen any of the oscar winning movies and they say they have never heard of the movies. then he asks if they have seen a madea movie and they answer is yes.
Posted by n like hummus? | February 28, 2011 12:34 AM
sad that social network got robbed. a truly unique film that i have little to compare to. whereas king's speech (which was excellent), i feel like i've seen a million times before. it's called oscar bait for a reason. the academy blew an opportunity to try & possibly show some relevance with younger people and get them into high art.
Seeing Trent up there winning an OSCAR was fantastic though. so happy for my favorite musician. congrats to atticus as well.

Javier Bardem should had won
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 2:10 AM
Social Network blew. It was like an A&E Biography with a little drama thrown in.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 2:42 AM
You would think a movie done by the director of Fight Club would have a little edge to it. Nope.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 2:44 AM
different strokes i guess...i didnt know the actual backstory to facebook so i was on the edge of my seat with what would happen next. the dialogue completely sucked me in.

I can't stand Natalie Portman. I'm sure Zach Braff was working up a good load during her much too long acceptance speech, though.

who and what?
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 8:37 AM
I like how at the end of the King's Speech everyone is applauding and happy that he made such a terrific speech, he didn't stammer, all is well in Jolly Old England...Except for the fact that WWII is beginning and thousands of your people are going to war and will die!!!
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 8:48 AM
tyler perry was snubbed!
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 8:59 AM
Yesterdays stupidity was that Inception won just about every technical award you could win, but wasnt nominated for Director. Further compunding this mistake was Tom Hooper winning for directing a movie that any other of the nominees could have made just as easily. Oterwise prety decnt show.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 9:07 AM
4 movies that did not deserve to be nominated for best picture: inception, winter bone, toy story 3,black swan.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 9:26 AM

So 2:58, what you're saying is that the "The Social Network" sucked.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 10:05 AM
"The Social Network" was good. "Why Did I Get Married Too?" was waaaaaaaayyyy better.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 10:13 AM
anyone else think the dude who directed the King's Speech looked like a young James Cameron? You know, when he actually made good movies?
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 10:20 AM
I love that the "Twent" guy made a cameo for this thread.
Anyway, awesome for Reznor. Frankly I thought the work he did for "Se7en" was even more impressive, but glad he won nonetheless.
Posted by Funderburgh | February 28, 2011 10:21 AM
whoa, I never realized he worked on Seven. And I saw that movie at the height of my NIN obsession as a 13 yr. old boy.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 10:23 AM
No mention of God of Love on this message board? That movie was biographical for at least a quarter of you clowns?

I cannot believe that girl is 20. I was going to call you a sex perv.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 11:20 AM
social network is the most overrated movie of all time. I'm glad that posse of dbags didnt win. Eisenberg plays the same role in every movie. Sorkin's longwinded dialogue is mind-numbing and unrealistic. Justin Timberlake cant act. And nothing was better than seeing Fincher wince (Aronofsky did the same) when that dude won for king's speech.
Honestly, i thought both Kings Speech and Black Swan were better.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 11:35 AM
aronofsky is the friggin' man
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 11:36 AM
'aronofsky is the friggin' man'
agreed.
@1135 "sorkin's longwinded dialogue is unrealistic" ... sorkin has never attempted to be a realistic writer.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 12:05 PM
Social Network unique? Are you fucking kidding me? I've never wanted to kill an entire cast of characters so much in my whole life until that piece of shit talk fest.
Facebook sucks. Get off the box and go meet people the old fashioned way.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 12:35 PM
@ 10:23
Reznor did NOT score "Se7en" - I was wrong. I think I just thought he did because a remix of Closer plays in the credits. Howard Shore, instead, scored it - he's most recently know for doing the LOTR trilogy, but has been scoring films for decades.
Posted by Funderburgh | February 28, 2011 12:40 PM
Who gives a shit? Millionaires winning awards. Hooray!
Posted by Anonhummus | February 28, 2011 1:06 PM
Kinda agree with 12:35's point there.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 1:07 PM
And yet no mention of Gwyneth Paltrow's angelic voice??
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 1:30 PM
Agreed @12:35. Shit is getting scary, as FB is dubbed the 'new way to communicate.' Go out and talk face to face. Technology scares me
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 2:05 PM
AHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHA...
@1235, and those who agree - how ironic are you?
go out and meet people the old fashioned way? vs what? what you're doing? commenting on a music blog as anon 'on the box.'
that's pretty funny
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 2:25 PM
Facebook kills brain cells.
Posted by Anonymous | February 28, 2011 2:31 PM
but...the reason the move is great has nothing to do with facebook.
