Radio dept at best was pleasant.Maybe to the young-uns it was a new sound. You could tell some were listening that way/ but to these ears.. all I could hear was an OMD/ The Wake/ Durutti Column hybrid.Been there / done that..

assuming ill get shit for this, settimes for musichall?

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 10:34 AM

1) Radio Dept. was ok
2) They need a drummer
3) They need to play longer than 50 minutes if they have 3 full lengths and tons of singles....
4) People need to stop talking when bands play....go down to the bar downstairs if you want to chit chat

Thank you

webster set times were:

8pm No Joy
9pm Wavves
10:30 Best Coast

MHOW doors are at 8pm, so push everything back an hour. Best Coast was over by 11:30 last night, no encore.

Serious question.

1) What happens at Bars Mitzbah?
2) Why does Jewish calendar have so many holidays?
3) Do Jewish people believe they go to heaven if they think Jesus doesn't exist?

Always wanted to know!
Thanks

No, there was an encore. Bethany came out and did a DJ set with Mumford and Sons while they invited BrooklynVegan board commentators on stage to read their posts about the White Stripes break up. One girl started crying and another guy passed out. It was kind of a downer but then Passion Pit came out as special guests, prompting everyone to put their hands in the air, dance and sing along with the lyrics.

Bowery Electric???
The place with THE MOM FROM HELL!

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 3:02 PM

^ Total myth.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 3:13 PM

I thought The Radio Dept was great. Although the end was a bit awkward... there should have been an encore, and it seemed like there would be for the 10 (?) minutes that the lights stayed dim and and everyone was whooping.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 3:14 PM

THE MOM FROM HELL IS NOT A MYTH.

I have been to that establishment multiple times and have witnessed it.
She is an older woman who screams and hollers at the concert goers. (as a mom from hell would do). If you do anything but stand there and behave like you are in a church then she will reign down upon thee with great vengeance.
One time I was dancing a little bit and I saw her in the shadows giving me a look that scared the shit out of me. The moment I stopped dancing she smiled and nodded in approval.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 3:23 PM

the mom from hell really isn't a myth. just look at reviews on yelp.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 3:31 PM

Is this mom hot?

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 4:12 PM

3:23: I've been there twice and encountered no such person. Perhaps I was lucky?

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 4:24 PM

^ yes. You were extremely lucky.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 4:27 PM

mom from hell = milf

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 5:09 PM

Once I was waiting in line at Bowery Electric and I saw this "mom from hell". I recall she was wearing chunky heels (mom like) and lots of makeup. (mom like) and was yelling at us kids about staying quiet. (hell like)

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 5:18 PM

4:27: Guess so. Maybe I'll take my chances and find a day to go there again. Kinda wann see this so-called "Mom" myself.

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 5:28 PM

^ do not simply refer to her as "mom".
She is "THE MOM FROM HELL"

Posted by Anonymous | February 3, 2011 6:33 PM

^ You mistook that I would care. More fueled BV fodder.
