Not bad..

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:39 AM

why can't we have a killer fucking festival in the USA? Oh i know, people here are into complete garbage like all the crap at the festival. Maybe one day, but probably not......

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:39 AM

no interest in flyover country. pass.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:39 AM

Wow, a bunch of bands that we've all seen before??! Do tell me more!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:40 AM

People still listen to Animal Collective?

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:40 AM

@10:39 - Lolla will rule US festivals this year

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:41 AM

This seems cooked to death...seriously, remove the headliner from each day and you're just left with a steaming pile of rubbish!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:42 AM

I don't understand what anyone likes about Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:42 AM

Will Sharon Van Etten open the festival and play in front of 20 people again this year?

What a shocker, they are catering to the "Pitchfork" crowd. :)

Nothing special, but the price is great. Can't hate at that price point.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:45 AM

....keep the headliners and you're still left with rubbish!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:48 AM

I'd be pissed if I wasted $300+ on Coachella and then this lineup comes out for less than half the price. Because that's basically what you're getting here (and slightly better at that)

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:49 AM

yall know thats just HALF of the lineup right? haters gonna hate. this fest will be about 1,000 times more fun than most cuz its about half the crowd of most major fests.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:49 AM

festival of the year for the money.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:50 AM

deerhunter, that's all that matters

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:52 AM

Friday sucks.... but the rest looks pretty good.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:53 AM

if you only download albums from pitchfork's "best new music" then this is a really great festival!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:53 AM

Every time a festival like this is announced I just get a great big smile on my face thinking how glad i am that i live in NYC. I see all these bands play full sets at better venues. Then I continue to chuckle at the people who actually go to these.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:53 AM

such haters...this is gonna be awesome

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 10:59 AM

A lot of wimpy bands here. Where's the Rawk???

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:00 AM

@ 10:53 - Better venues like Terminal 5 which everyone on this board will continuously bitch about while paying $40 to see one band? $110 for all this is actually pretty damn enticing

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:02 AM

ah, festival threads. where virtually no one is ever happy

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:03 AM

Can we assume that if a band is playing the P4K festival that band will not be on the Lolla lineup?

Posted by Dan | March 4, 2011 11:05 AM

I love moody boring music. LOVE IT!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:05 AM

You know what's awesome about this festival? The logo! It's great. Thumbs up. Really. It's cool.

Posted by one who knows | March 4, 2011 11:07 AM

COACHELLA > PITCHFORK

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:08 AM

Serious question...is it me or is "indie" getting REALLY boring and played out??

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:13 AM

CABS ARE HERE

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:14 AM

11:11, it is not you. Most of these bands easily fall into the category of "Landfill Indie," a phenomenon that began across the pond, but has become increasingly common stateside as well.

TVOTR!!!!!

I'm going!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:19 AM

10:53 - I live in NYC and see all these bands here too. But it's nice to spend a weekend outside and see them again for such a great price. Why is that hard for you to understand?

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:20 AM

coachella? ... dad?

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:27 AM

LCD reunion!!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:29 AM

Best festival this year as far as line-up goes....

1) Primavera
2) Sasquatch
3) Pitchfork
4) Coachella
5) Bonnaroo

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:40 AM

thanks, brooklyn vegan. now all of the scalpers are going to get all of the tickets!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:45 AM

I would go to this but I'll be in a much more exciting coma instead.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:46 AM

I can't wait for the All Points West lineup!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:48 AM

^ I think it will happen this year

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:51 AM

Where does it say Superchunk? I know that reported the other day by a Chicago-based website but I don't see it on TicketWeb.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:52 AM

Will in no way measure up to the bruise cruise.

Posted by white punks on slope (park) | March 4, 2011 11:53 AM

if anything this proves why they kiss ass when it comes to bands like James Blake, Ariel Pink, Animal Collective etc. So when festival time come around they will happily play

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 11:53 AM

@11:48
All POints West is not happening anymore unfortunately :(

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 12:12 PM

So I'm guessing Fleet Foxes and the new TVOTR will be Best New Music?

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 12:14 PM

If the first single is any indication, the new Fleet Foxes will be a half-baked embarrassment, like my mom

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 12:22 PM

i like the new single but @12:22 made me lolz

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 12:28 PM

I like the festivals. There is usually hummus carts around. :)

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 12:45 PM

Anyone else having problems getting tickets? I knew this was going to happen and some clown was mocking me in another thread that it wouldn't. Well, guess what -- Pitchfork looks like it will be selling out quick.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:01 PM

Mine went from being in a "Waiting Room" back to it saying tickets weren't on sale yet.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:04 PM

Mine smells like Honey...

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:06 PM

Yeah, this is another Ticketmaster-owned sell out clusterfuck in the making. I haven't gotten through either.

apparently festivals like p4k/lolla destroy the chicago music club shows for like half a year with their non-competes. like every one of those bands has played nyc the last 6 months (or will soon).

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:18 PM

1:18pm that's great and all, but you're saying this under the assumption that every reader here on BrooklynVegan lives in the NYC area. I live thousands of miles away from where this site operates and most of these bands will not be playing within a 100 mile radius of me as far as I know within the coming 6 months so it looks like a good, cheap way to hit a bunch of birds in one stone.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:23 PM

I have a disease? Bullsh*t, I cured it with hummus.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:23 PM

bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:27 PM

I will NOT trade my DUNKACCINO for the new Train CD!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:31 PM

I could have sworn that Mumford&Sons would be there after that 2.5 score Pitchfork gave them!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:32 PM

it was actually a 2.1

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:38 PM

Anon 11:52am....Superchunk was on Ticketweb page earlier but I guess they took it off.

I'm 100% sure they will be there though....they were listed right under Deerhunter

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:44 PM

Thanks 1:44. That's good to know. The article I read said they were headlining but that obviously isn't going to be the case now. I'm still wondering if any bands will be playing their classic albums in full like this article stated: http://www.chicagoreader.com/chicago/gossip-wolf-pitchfork-superchunk/Content?oid=3349416

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:52 PM

'Yuck'. Sums it up pretty well.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 1:55 PM

That 2.1 for Mumford is really unfair. It's surely not that bad.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 2:08 PM

Dude Mumford is terrible, absolutely worth hating on

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 2:12 PM

Also Mumford is what people who listen to radio think 'indie' is today so needs to be taken down asap

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 2:12 PM

Isn't Pitchfork-sanctioned music what people consider to be 'indie' these days?

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 2:20 PM

Tom Windish is the key note speaker this year.

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 2:30 PM

Currensy is about as charismatic as Freddie Gibbs. LOL!

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 2:37 PM

David Bevan will be signing copies of Dye It Blonde

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 2:39 PM

no Jack Johnson no care

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 3:15 PM

"I like Byron, I give him a 2.1, but I can't dance to it."

Pitchfork's ratings are asinine.

Pitchfork came to my dinner party and rated my hummus platter a 7.3

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 4:40 PM

awesome festival. you can have the coachella clusterfuck

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 5:06 PM

I thought RAMMSTEIN was headlining Pitchfork this year?

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 5:15 PM

Can't stop laughing at the guy who thinks Chicago is part of "flyover country." Wow, dude, you're tougher than Lou Reed! Hahahahahaha

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 7:48 PM

Ariel Pink sounds like a hot name. Can I jack it to her~?

Posted by Deano Bravo | March 4, 2011 8:58 PM

You haters just want to talk to be annoying and clearly don't have anything more helpful then go stick your head back up your pooooop shoooooot...

And hummus eaters gonna dance.
