Parts and Labor

Summary: previous Parts & Labor drummer and music critic Chris Weingarten no longer likes Parts & Labor and they don't like him back. Real or all in fun?

I'm pretty sure they're just bustin' each other's balls.

Just kidding, y'all. There's no beef between me and @parts_and_labor. I'm DJing their record release party 2nite @ Monster Island Basement 1 minute ago via web

I don't know the rest of the story, but sounds like Chris is a sore loser.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 12:50 PM

Even if this is in jest, Chris is a pompous, adult baby

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 12:53 PM

Definitely just for fun. but entertaining nonetheless

This was probably the intended outcome...*runs*

CHRIS WEINGARTEN NEVER KIDS AROUND FOR HE IS THE LAST TRUE ROCK CRITIC

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 12:55 PM

"publicity" stunt. bunch of losers.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 12:55 PM

Weingarten confirmed it was a joke before this post even got published. Way to try to stir the pot, BV. Perhaps you've got a suppressed beef with Weingarten or P&L and got off on the fact that the former bandmates and NYC noise scene darlings were at each others' throats? This site reads more and more like a trash rag for NYC hipster bands each day.

In public conflict, the only winners are BV trolls. Flame away!

Wow, how fast can Brooklyn Vegan put up a post?! Holy shit! 4 minutes ago via web

BrooklynVegan just got runny diarrhea smeared all over their typewriters.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 12:59 PM

Even if it's a joke, "Husker Don't" is right on the money. What a fuckin' bore.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 1:00 PM

BrooklynVegan owes Parts & Labor, Weingarten and all of its readers an apology for attempting to make a mountain out of an ant hole over a silly Twitter exchange.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 1:10 PM

even if they have beef. who gives a shit?

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 1:12 PM

Good band, deserves what contrived publicity it can get.

I just got off the phone with my sister who saw this post between classes and she was crying, because she honestly thought the band and Weingarten were at each others' throats. It took a good 5 minutes to talk her down because she was so upset. If you're going to do speculative journalism based on Twitter updates, at least wait a few minutes for it to die down and not blow up in your face as a joke. I thought I was going to have to go to my sister's school and pick her up, that's how distraught she was at first.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 1:19 PM

that 1:19pm comment is a joke, right?

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 1:22 PM

career also implies there there's a future in what you're doing

Posted by womp | March 8, 2011 1:23 PM

a constant future

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 1:26 PM

1:22pm, I wish it were but first off, my sis is a really emotional girl and secondly, worships at the alter of Marnie Stern. She plays guitar and lives and breathes those bands consider her NYC noise rock's (probably only) drama queen.

Posted by Anonymous | March 8, 2011 1:34 PM

I enjoyed Chris when he was in Dinowalrus.

"I just got off the phone with my sister who saw this post between classes and she was crying..."

Are you fucking kidding me? If this is really true then I'm glad BV posted this just to make your little bitch ass sister cry.
