Earth at Masonic Temple in 2009 (more by Greg Cristman)
Earth

Earth's new album Angels of Darkness, Demons of Light: I arrived around a month ago via Southern Lord, and to a very warm reception. The band, whose members are now founder Dylan Carlson, long time percussionist Adrienne Davies, cellist Lori Goldston & bassist Karl Blau, will take to the road for a lengthy set of dates with Sabbath Assembly in Europe, and then with Ô Paon in the U.S. Those dates include June 16 at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC. Tickets are on sale.

The LPR show is 3.5 months before the band plays ATP's I'll Be Your Mirror in Asbury Park, NJ. There Earth will be joined by curators/performers Portishead, as well as Mogwai, Anika and many more. Tickets for individual days are still available.

Who?

People pretend to like this shitty band only because of the Kurt Cobain connection.

Posted by Anonymous | March 21, 2011 10:37 PM

Dude Fest? Seriously? Germany, you are better than that. On the other hand, shitty Italy has a venue called Unwound, which is pretty cool.

I sure Kurt would be glad he killed himself if he had to read the comments on brooklyn vegan or listen to all the dandy ass bands that populate this site.

im sorry, but to me Dylan Carlson will always be the guy who bought Kurt the shotgun he used to kill himself.

"i didnt know he was depressed"

Re: the Connecticut date. The Wadsworth Theater is in Hartford, not New Haven.

BV should split into 2 sites...One for serious fans of bands such as Earth, Sleep, Melvins, etc. The other for people who went to, or wish they had attended, the Bruise Cruise.

If you went to 10 or more shows last year of bands that you no longer listen to, you are a sissy hipster!

Posted by Anonymous | March 22, 2011 9:04 AM

@9:04 - whoze about another idea, one site for those of us that are wide awake and one site for sissy ass posers (like you).

9:04: You might be on to something there.

9:12: Guess which category you fall under.

Note to self: Don't go see drone bands live if you haven't slept well the night before.

Wonderful post and the location is beautiful and elegant in design and information and everything>>> to Favorites
Amazing is an enormous understatement. One of the best electronic shows I've ever been to and I've seen well over a thousand concerts. I had no idea Vladislav Delay was as good a drummer & percussionist as he is- fabulous and he kept everything swinging with a very unique style of playing. If you missed this you missed out big time...
