May hit up the 5/4 show.

Just out of mere curiosity to anyone who's seen them live, what is the crowd like?

people still care about this band because they're awesome

does duo mean no drums?

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 11:24 AM

this band is terrible and matt is the epitome of pretentious douchebag. no wonder this late into their career they can only play rockwood.

no bass/drums=no me at the show

Their touring drummer is really good, so not sure what a "duo show" will be like. Still probably worth checking out since their live show is always an adventure.

Wake up guys, this is one of the most creatively ambitious bands out there.

the 2 touring members of Furnaces are Jason Loewenstein and Bob D'Amico who are currently on tour with Sebadoh. Could be the reason why they are not playing with FFs.
Fiery Furnaces are one of the most interesting and creative bands around today. one of the few hopes one can have for music today. If you don't like them, that's fine, but we probably wouldn't get along very well. I might call you an idiot if we had to discuss music.

What's Rockwood like? Good venue?

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 12:49 PM

Rockwood is tiny, very intimate. Eleanor opened for Gruff Rhys at that venue in Jan.

Have seen these guys several times. The first time was in Tucson where they opened for Modest Mouse (dunno, maybe 7'ish years ago?). They're really good live. Matt is a great keyboard (and guitar) player.

Thank god they aren't playing larger venues where skinny hipster faggots congregate by the many thousands to take shitty iphone pictures of themselves so they can tweet/facebook how gay they are.

This band can actually play instruments and can rock it out, so that should keep most of BV away.

By the way, how is Telepathe doing? har har.

Matt and Eleanor make challenging, intelligent music and dare to be original without pandering. Rare indeed.

I've seen them about 10 times and its different everytime but always great. People complaining about this being a duo tour shouldn't because they play a segment of a couple songs as a duo at most of their shows and a lot of the time it is the best part. Matt plays guitar, piano or organ and Elenor plays guitar and even drums.
