LCD
LCD

It's been less than two months since we first found out that LCD Soundsystem's final show would happen on April 2nd at Madison Square Garden (maybe you got a ticket today, or maybe you're planning on watching it from home), and it was six days after that that they announced four more shows happening at Terminal 5, the first of which happens tonight (3/28) (If you're going, hopefully you don't get caught in a long line). It's been an eventful six weeks in LCD land full of ticket frustrations and controversies and comments. And now that the shows are here, it should be even more eventful, but hopefully related to the awesomeness coming from the stage...

Anyway, I know this is super last minute, but I was just offered a pair of tickets to giveaway to tonight's show. Act quick. Details on how to win below...

---
FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A PAIR OF TICKETS TO TONIGHT'S LCD SOUNDSYSTEM SHOW: Email bvcontests@hotmail.com (subject: LCD). Include your first and last name. One winner will be chosen at random ASAP and contacted with more details. Your email will not be shared or used for any evil purposes. Good luck!

Who is going to start with the conspiracy theories because BV has 2 extra tickets?!!!

Posted by GW | March 28, 2011 4:45 PM

Uh oh. BV has had all the extra tickets this whole time. This whole show has been a scam for BV to give away tickets and promote his site. This is bullshit.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 4:50 PM

Get ready for a glut of LCD posts. Is BV gonna have coverage of all the T5 shows plus MSG? If so these comment sections are really gonna get a workout.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 4:50 PM

Nothing says rock like a good hot dog

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 4:53 PM

are BV and my mom the only two people that use hotmail?

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 4:53 PM

another t5 ticket giveaway for the 4/6 cut copy show from EMU at facebook.com/emufestival

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 5:00 PM

hotmail is just where BV gets his spam, i.e. all our garbage ranting emails to hiim.

Posted by GW | March 28, 2011 5:01 PM

Yeah. Hotmail is old news. The new cool email is hummusmail.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 5:01 PM

anyone seen the line down at t5 yet?

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 5:07 PM

So this is basically an LCD fansite now? Cmon this band was over after their first 12". And enough with the disco balls. You think you make dance music, we get it.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 5:09 PM

do you really send ranting emails to BV? you're sad.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 5:09 PM

has this been claimed yet?

has asap left the building?

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 5:10 PM

Tonight's show is still on sale at Ticketmaster.

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 5:26 PM

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 8:01 PM

O< QUACK!

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 8:10 PM

who cares.
LCD Soundsystem is fucking terrible!

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 9:30 PM

Only 5,000 people ever bought an LCD Soundsystem album, but every single one of them created an echo chamber

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 9:57 PM

Just left that show.. Thank god they are retiring .. absolutely terrible .. I simply don't get them

Posted by Steve | March 28, 2011 11:57 PM

No one cares what you think. What was the setlist?

Posted by Anonymous | March 28, 2011 11:59 PM

Steve, you are a fucking idiot...mostly for staying at a show for 3 hours for a band you don't like.

Posted by Bob_Roberts | March 29, 2011 12:01 AM

He obviously did not go and is simply trolling to fulfill his empty little life.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:43 AM

I left after the first song in chunk 3

Chunk 1:
Dance Yrself Clean
Drunk Girls
I Can Change
Time to Get Away (James said this was about his ex-manager ('fuck that guy') and that he 'paid to be able to say that')
Get Innocuous!
(order gets hazy here)
Yr City's a Sucker
Daft Punk is Playing at My House
All My Friends

Chunk 2:
45:33
Freak Out/Starry Eyes
(some cover)

Chunk 3:
Us v. Them
(left at this point)

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:45 AM

What time did they start?

Posted by vin | March 29, 2011 1:43 AM

9:10 start

Other songs played in Chunk 3 (incomplete in no particular order):
Yeah
Losing My Edge
Someone Great
Tribulations
Home (last song of chunk)

Encore:
New York i love you

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 1:47 AM

Also, Sounds of Silver was played in the 2nd chunk, and Reggie Watts guest appeared on some cover song i think

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 1:50 AM

What time did it end?

Posted by vin | March 29, 2011 2:15 AM

after midnight, i think. liquid liquid started with scraper and ended with optimo!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 2:26 AM

freakout/starry eyes was a great surprise.

they also played you wanted a hit in chunk 3

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 3:06 AM

setlist looks awesome... can't say you're not getting your money's worth... anyone actually go? how packed was t5? hoping this will call/show ID policy keeps the volume below the typical packt like sardines

http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/lcd-soundsystem/2011/terminal-5-new-york-ny-2bd25426.html

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 7:45 AM

IT WAS BEYOND PACKED!!! It was also about 1000 degrees inside! Show was LOUD LOUD LOUD! Great time though...will-call moved but was a little caotic. I got there 6:00 was inside a bit before offical door time maybe 6:25....Floor was swaying!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 7:56 AM

they played 45:33 in its entirety or just parts of it???

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:07 AM

I believe they played it all! They had the horns too which were great live!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:13 AM

Parts 1,2,4,5,6 were played along with Freak out/Starry Eyes

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:14 AM

that is just... insane.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:20 AM

I cant believe half the audience left after the 1st part. Boring show if you ask me.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:31 AM

^ You were not there..I guarantee it!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:33 AM

That was weird. It was so packed at the beginning. A huge chunk of people walked out during the show. I was surprised!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:34 AM

^show was packed whole night. Next!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:36 AM

i want to cry... of pain

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:38 AM

Nobody can dance at these shows. They are a dance band, are they not?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:40 AM

I wouldn't say half the audience left. about 3/4 did, and I was grateful. It was too packed for the beginning set.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:49 AM

^ You guys are terrible at math!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:50 AM

^I was relieved people walked out!!! It was too packed! The show got better chunk by chunk.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 8:54 AM

"They are a dance band, are they not?"

"This ain't no disco." - Talking Heads (aka the LCD of the 80's)

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:00 AM

Who used that microphone 1st, Julian Casablancas or James Murphy?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:00 AM

OMG, Everyone was doing coke and dancing terribly! Boring live act if you're a frequent concert goer...

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:04 AM

^ Mark Sandman?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:04 AM

The show was OK.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:13 AM

my cat's breath smells like catfood.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:19 AM

Just to help out the fans going tonight and onward- there was no line. It was great. T5 really had their shit together. Liquid Liquid at 8. LCD at 9 sharp. They will play for 3 hours. A good chunk of the audience walked after the 1st set, but they were new fans who don't appreciate the music, and T5 is better when it is not so packed. The show was awesome. Those are the facts.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:24 AM

Fuckin' 'fro hawk got a shoutout from James Murphy.

Posted by Dean Bravo | March 29, 2011 9:25 AM

Why was the 2nd floor empty last night? They could have fit hundreds more in the club. hmm

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:49 AM

^ Empty, what are you smoking! I could hardly move and I was on the second floor.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:50 AM

Thanks for the info 9:24!

Posted by Venison | March 29, 2011 9:52 AM

anyone know what song was playing as lcd was taking the stage? not 'dance yrself clean' but that thing with the piano before that.

Posted by skk | March 29, 2011 9:52 AM

It was empty, dont lie on here. I'm not a hater, I loved the show. But the 2nd floor was empty. Now tickets are back on sale too. Why all the fuss for tickets yo

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:53 AM

^ The vip area is/was empty but only because you need a pass to be there...

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 9:59 AM

Tickets are back on sale! Sweet!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:00 AM

What the fuck are you talking about? It wasn't packed wall to wall, but there were a LOT of people up there.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:02 AM

hhaha theres no way they played 45;33

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:05 AM

i walked out
it was so packed.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:10 AM

10:05 but they did!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:12 AM

They played 45:33 in its entirety?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:16 AM

Parts 1,2,4,5,6 and Freak Out/Starry Eyes

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:17 AM

Since when is the whole 2nd floor VIP? And it was so empty, why not sell more tickets to the fans?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:19 AM

AMAZING SETTT

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:20 AM

It was all a ploy by the VIP ticket holders to get a semi-private show. Brilliant.

Posted by GW | March 29, 2011 10:22 AM

Part of the second floor is VIP....

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:22 AM

1019 IT IS A CONSIPIRACY! JAMES IS TRYING TO SCREW THE FANS!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:23 AM

Did anyone else see DJ Jazzy Jeff up by the front last night?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:23 AM

^ Ha I thought that too but I was in the balcony and couldn't see to clearly...it was packed up there!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:25 AM

Why does James apologize so much? "we're sorry it took us so long to learn new songs" "we're sorry it took so long to come back to NY" SHUT UP and Rock! Stop being lame and apologizing for everything. Have a spine and be the rockstar your fans think you are!~

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:27 AM

The thing I love most about T5 is those guys walking through the crowd selling beer. Just like at a sporting event!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:27 AM

What was the scalper situation like outside? Were there tickets available? Anyone got an extra free one for tonight?

Posted by Mooch | March 29, 2011 10:32 AM

They give you a hard ticket when you show I.D. It was all will call. But you don't have to walk right in. You can walk out and sell you tickets if you cannot go. That's the situation. Someone will have to pick up the tickets regardless. But tickets are back up on ticketmaster right now, go there!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:36 AM

There were 130 tickets available at the door. Why would there be scalpers

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:38 AM

10:36 why would someone named MOOCH want to pay Ticketmaster for a ticket?

Posted by Deano Bravo | March 29, 2011 10:41 AM

Where did you hear there were 130 tickets at the door? I didn't see any of that. I didn't see people selling their tickets either. I did notice a large chunk of fans left after the 1st set, but that's because it was so loud and so packed. The show got much better after they walked out.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:42 AM

10:42, Murphy announced it on twitter to deter people from paying high scalper prices at the door..

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:45 AM

There was a sign on the box office saying $45 so, not sure how many, but there were clearly tickets for sale.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:45 AM

Was anyone following the B&W dress code, originally requested for the MSG show?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:50 AM

The 2nd floor is not VIP. I dont know why it was empty. I didnt have VIP, and I walked up there without a problem. Good show. It was too long, I left after the 1st set, but they were totally good.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:51 AM

^ AGAIN! HELLO HALF THE 2nd FLOOR IS VIP! READ PEOPLE!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:54 AM

10:50 the band adhered to the dress code, for the most part. No one in the crowd was retarded enough to do it, thankfully.

Posted by Deano Bravo | March 29, 2011 10:54 AM

What was the wait on line like? If someone gets there at 7p or 8p, would you get in before LCD takes the stage at 9p? Do you have to get there super early to have any sort of view - on any level of the venue?
Last year, I got to the Sat. nite T5 show at the act before LCD and had a pretty damn good view on the 2nd floor center balcony, plenty of room to dance. Similar situation this time around?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:55 AM

There's no point to being on the second/third floor unless you're hugging the balcony anyway. You can't see shit otherwise.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:56 AM

FACT- Half the audience did NOT walk out halfway through the set. about 3/4 walked and they were bitching like they never saw an LCD show before. So who needs them!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:56 AM

^So you are saying there was less than 1000 people there second and third set...So it was like seeing the band at Bowery Ballroom almost! sweet I can dance my ass of and get within 5 rows or so, am I reading that right?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:59 AM

Line was fast. Don't worry. If you get there at 7, you'll have trouble finding a spot along the second floor balcony, but not the third floor. Get there at 8? Good luck finding a spot with a view anywhere.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 10:59 AM

Did anyone see Kermit on the 3 floor vip balcony?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:00 AM

10:59 - Totes! It's a good thing. The show started out too packed. After they left, it was better. There was no line, and you'll have no problem getting up close after the 1st set. Guaranteed.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:01 AM

7/8 of the audience left because of 45:33. They came for Drunk Girls and got it second in the set.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:02 AM

I have a real question- Who was the dude in the blue jump suit with a cane on ecstasy? Anyone know?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:04 AM

^ I heard 110% of the audience left...I was actually there alone on stage with LCD..great night!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:18 AM

How long was it between sets?

Posted by GW | March 29, 2011 11:20 AM

it was just 5 - 10 min between sets. New Yorkers are so lazy, people were leaving like they thought it was the end of the show. So lame.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:22 AM

^ a few minutes

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:22 AM

JUST GOT A TICKET FOR TONIGHT!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:23 AM

3-5 minutes in between the chunks of LCD songs

about 25 minutes between Liquid Liquid and LCD.

I was in the middle of the floor and it was just as packed at the end as it was in the beginning.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:25 AM

I was standing by the exits. People walked out, but not half the crowd. I think some people came to see Drunk Girls and left, but that happens. They are new fans, not true fans.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:33 AM

yeah for sure. tickets for tonight available on ticketmaster right now.

Posted by hi | March 29, 2011 11:47 AM

are "true fans" like when Sara Palin talks about "true Americans?"

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:48 AM

you have to assume that a bunch of casual listeners or non-fans are gonna attend some of these shows in an attempt to see lcd before they "stop performing together forever." some of them are not going to like it and they are going to leave early. makes sense to me, but in everyone else's defense, i'm a pretty smart guy.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:53 AM

^^ OMG, you didn't! you are really a Neanderthal dickweed. But, keep telling yourself how "enlightened" you are .... you have to bring Sarah into this (spell her name right, dufus). How's that Hope and Change working out for you? Got a job yet, syphilis stain?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:55 AM

Sure people left between sets...to maybe go to the bathroom...makes sense to me...I am sure a trivial amount left because they had to go to bed etc...

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:56 AM

1/2 > 3/4 = you're derpy!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:56 AM

LCD Soundsysmeh
Thanks for all the memories
Don't let the MSG stadium slapback echo hit you in the ass on the way out

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 11:57 AM

Well, I'll be sure not to read any of these BV loser comments on the day I go to the show.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:04 PM

just to be nice and second what some of the actually informative people are saying: Yes, they do actually play 45:33. It makes up the majority of the second set. So if you only like their poppier stuff, this is a good time to go hang out at the bar upstairs, get some drinks and gear up for the amazing 3rd act. (That's not to say it wasn't sick to hear them belt that out with a horn section.) As for people leaving, I didn't really notice. The floor was jammed all night long. Yes, you will be able to get tickets at the door (for a $1 cheaper than TM!), provided you get there at a reasonable time. My friend got one last night at 730pm. Lastly, if you are one of the douchebags who becomes a total wall when someone is trying to get back through the crowd to their friends, I beg you to stay home. You are miserable.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:04 PM

^ that makes sense!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:05 PM

Amen to the above! I hate those people. But it wasn't a problem after the 1st set when people started to leave.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:13 PM

1 single pathetic person keeps writing, insisting no one left the show. The place cleared out after set. It was awesome!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:21 PM

balcony was for all of James's friends only

Posted by vHIGHpee | March 29, 2011 12:22 PM

Thanks, 12:04! At least we have SOME informative comments here.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:24 PM

James doesn't have many friends then. It was empty.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:25 PM

You are all like 17 years old commenting on this right?

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 12:59 PM

LCD fans aren't 17 years old. They are mostly made up of middle aged fat dudes who look like James Murphy. I dont get it.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 1:05 PM

Most are under 16. They're not even old enough to ask permission to borrow their mom's douche, fer chrissake!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 1:06 PM

The show was primarily made up of %80 sausage, %20 skanks! ugh, the girls werre butt ugly last night! I wouldn't give one of them the time of day, even on X!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 1:15 PM

"Most are under 16. They're not even old enough to ask permission to borrow their mom's douche, fer chrissake!"

Case in point:

"The show was primarily made up of %80 sausage, %20 skanks! ugh, the girls werre butt ugly last night! I wouldn't give one of them the time of day, even on X!"

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 1:53 PM

you think that the BV comments are bad now, what until the summer when school is out

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 1:58 PM

The show was OK, but not much better than the last time they played Terminal 5. It was a longer show, but all their songs sound the same, so it made no difference. I think that's why so many people were leaving early.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 2:05 PM

WORST SHOW OF THE YEAR!

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 2:13 PM

GYBE : LCD :: Prime Rip : used condoms

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 2:21 PM

Does anyone know if LCD will be playing the same set list tonight?

Posted by CRITIC | March 29, 2011 3:21 PM

Most likely. James said something about about how much they had rehearsed and that each show would be nearly identical. Something like that.

Posted by Anonymous | March 29, 2011 4:10 PM

Does anyone know if you can give your ticket away at the door to a guest?

I hear that you need picture ID to claim your ticket, but I want to give my ticket away to a friend... what's T5 policy on this?
Thansk

Posted by J C | March 29, 2011 9:13 PM

They played Too Much Love , North American Scum and All I Want..nice additions..hope they are also played at MSG!

Posted by Anonymous | March 30, 2011 8:01 AM

^ that's awesome. hoping somehow they'll still break out "never as tired as when i'm waking up"

Posted by Anonymous | March 30, 2011 8:39 AM
