Boycott hummus that contains potassium sorbate.

Their enthusiasm is infectious.
Like gonorrhea.

Would love to see M&K again, but not at Terminal 5. Sorry. No sale.

A crowd of moshing 14 year olds in an oversold venue? no thanks. let me know if and when they ever play at MHOW again.

If it were not for the fact that both these bands released their worst records by far this year, I would be all in. They both put on great shows, but I can't get down to these new songs.

I'm still amazed people go to Matt and Kim shows. They're probably the two most annoying people in all of Brooklyn. Matt's whiny voice doesn't help either.

Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2011 8:53 PM

They're so fun!! Fun fun fun fun fun. Sandra Bullock style "winning" fun.

I can't think of anything more annoying than this "infectious" band's music - except for their shows, that's worse than the music.

But they're fun fun fun fun fun...

Saw the "shit eating grins" last summer. Not a big fan. Actually felt gay for an hour.

Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2011 9:43 PM

It seems that during shows Kim never stops smiling - not even for a second. And all their songs sound the same.

Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2011 10:12 PM

aids to the both of them. awful music, worse fans, even worse image.

Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2011 10:15 PM

i wonder what it's like when the two of them are in a hotel room together and one of them farts. do they still have those smiles on their faces? yes, yes they do.

Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2011 10:30 PM

"aids to the both of them"

Wow, seriously?
Fuck off you scumbag.

Posted by Anonymous | March 1, 2011 11:30 PM

@9:43 - Thx for the laugh - awesome. I felt the same way watching them play - kinda creepy.

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2011 12:04 AM

insufferable trash

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2011 12:38 AM

ugh ugh ugh ugh

ill take for granted the singer in the thermals kinda sounds like matt but they are way better / talented / dont have shit eating grins as the horrible, disaster that is matt and kim

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2011 1:25 AM

go away

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2011 8:01 AM

Thought "Yea Yeah" was a catchy song with a cool, funny video......and EVERYTHING else was pretty much a steaming dog pile.

I'd possibly pay lint-smothered pocket change to see them busking at a busy intersection.....but no more, and even possibly less.

"It seems that during shows Kim never stops smiling - not even for a second. And all their songs sound the same."

If you think that all of Matt & Kim's songs sound the same, then you should not listen to the Thermals. They have been writing the same song over and over again for longer than M&K.

That said, nothing wrong with liking simple catchy tunes, but T5? No thanks.

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2011 10:41 AM

these guys suck.

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2011 10:57 AM

But they're so much FUN!! I a bad, joke's on you for watching kind of way.

Posted by Anonymous | March 2, 2011 11:17 AM

Saw them at Lollapalooza last year, or the year before that, whatever. I was astonished at how they spent half of their set playing -- and by playing, I don't mean performing, but singing karaoke to --90's/00's hip hop tunes and having the crowd sing along (songs like "You Got What I Need", etc.). I just remember thinking, "Holy shit, this is what these guys do? And they get away with it??" Incredible.

Beyond that, I think Kim said some variation of the word "fuck" 100 times, and the banter back and forth was completely unbearable.

Combine that with Terminal 5 and I would kill myself.

Posted by The Dude | March 2, 2011 12:23 PM

they suck!

"If it were not for the fact that both these bands released their worst records by far this year, I would be all in. They both put on great shows, but I can't get down to these new songs."

I concur 100% with this statement.

Posted by yeti | March 3, 2011 1:31 PM

5K is their only good song.

Posted by Anonymous | March 3, 2011 1:35 PM

FUCK

i live in detroit and they are coming here but i don't give a rats ass about matt and kim, just the thermals

Posted by Anonymous | March 3, 2011 7:56 PM
