"To celebrate the release of his first new record in five years, legendary artist Paul Simon has announced a very special North American tour beginning Friday, April 15th in Seattle, Washington. The set list will draw from his iconic career, including several songs that haven't been performed live in many years. Also included will be songs from So Beautiful or So What, his brand new album set for release by Hear Music/Concord Music Group on Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Before hitting the road, Simon will appear two consecutive nights, April 6th and 7th on NBC's Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."
Paul Simon's tour includes shows at NYC's Beacon Theatre on May 10th and 11th. He helped re-open the same venue in 2009. Tickets for both of the new Beacon shows will go on sale Friday, March 11th at 9am. All dates and a player with two new songs in it, below....

Is there really a theater in Boston called the Wang theater? I'm not mature enough to go there.

Paul Simon suffers from the same disease as Benjamin Button. Every year he gets smaller and more hairless, looking more and more like a little baby.

His "Under African Skies" show at BAM with featured artists such as David Byrne was amazing.

Last album (with Eno!) was crappy.

Expect little to no tickets to be released if this show is being promoted buy the Bowery Ballroom. For those that dont know they are holding back tickets for all their shows recently and selling them on the secondary market. People should stop putting all the blame on scalpers when if you look closer you will find half of the tickets are being resold by the people doing the shows both promoter and artist.

I just want to put this out there before everyone complains about no tickets being available

Paul Simon was great in Annie Hall. I'm glad that this whole music thing has been good to him.

tell grandpa that paul simon is still alive

Posted by Anonymous | March 4, 2011 3:19 PM

At 2:14pm

Adele at the Beacon and United Palace Theatre. Here is a perfect example of it. The ticket limit for the United Palace show was 4 tickets. On a couple of brokers sites some is selling 12 tickets together. Even the best brokers cannot pull 12 tickets together in the same row even with automated machines on a 4 ticket limit. Especially if the show was as popular as this one was. It is just impossible unless someone on the inside is selling these. Plus the same person is also selling 6 tickets in rows DD, EE, and FF.

So tell me how does one person get this many of the best seats in the house when everyone else barely got 2 or 4 at best?

Will Chevy Chase be there?

Motorhead comments:

1st - Person who went to NJ show last night (I did too, it ruled).

2nd - Condescending douchenozzle who doesn't know anything about (1) seeing Motorhead.

3rd - Trendy loser (in other words "clever" or "witty") comment that isn't funny to begin with.

Paul Simon is should be one of the most respected artist of our time. I you can't project respect onto the man, rather keep your mouth shut (or your blog clean). Im a 21 year old who loves good music, and that exactly what Mr Simon does. Big-up for Paul Simon!
