Guided by Voices @ Irving Plaza, New Year's Eve (more by Chris Gersbeck)
Guided by Voices

"As previously announced, the 2011 Pitchfork Music Festival will be taking place on Friday, July 15th through Sunday, July 17th at Chicago's Union Park! Tickets went on sale on March 4th, and, as predicted, three-day passes sold out in a record time of 24 hours! That said, eager prospective festival goers should fear not, as single-day passes are still available for the totally reasonable price of $45.

And now, without further ado, the newest additions to the 2011 Pitchfork Festival lineup! Friday will see the addition of Guided By Voices and Neko Case; Saturday's lineup will feature No Age, Gang Gang Dance, G-Side, and Chrissy Murderbot; Sunday's stellar lineup now includes The Fresh & Onlys, Radio Dept., HEALTH, Shabazz Palaces, Baths, How To Dress Well, Kurt Vile, and Twin Sister. Stay tuned for more bands still to be announced in the coming weeks!"
Guided by Voices are also playing the sold out Sasquatch Fest. Full Pitchfork lineup by day below...

so does this mean GBV and AC will be playing against each other?

Posted by angry | March 25, 2011 2:15 PM

it means your level of coolness will be decided upon your decision to see GBV or AC

If they do the Friday night comedy thing again, there will be no simultaneous music going on.

Posted by Matt | March 25, 2011 2:22 PM

weird how they stacked so many good acts on sunday and so few the rest of the days

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 2:45 PM

is it just me or has everyone already seen all these bands....eh

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 2:48 PM

I hope there's a Brooklyn Bowl pussy fight going on that weekend. This lineup looks boring.

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 2:53 PM

why doesn't pitchfork add bands that they don't like or partially don't like?

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 3:07 PM

yeah i'm surprised Jet or Black Kids aren't headlining

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 3:13 PM

no Archers of Loaf - im surprised

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 3:17 PM

The festival circuit seems to be getting more tiresome with each passing year.

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 3:21 PM

Any chance of GBV coming back to New York soon? I went to the abysmal Terminal 5 to see my favorite band, had tickets for Maxwell's, got the flu and was unable to go.

:(

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 4:45 PM

Stryper-alls.

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 5:02 PM

The only thing that's keeping ticket sales high at these pitchfork festivals is due to the high quality hummus stands that are set up in the area... But I gotta hand it to them, Pitchfork is a marketing genius.

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 5:05 PM

GBV and Fresh & Onlys??!!! Already worth the price of admission.

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 5:16 PM

ASS WANG! 666!

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 7:02 PM

theres a finite number of name indie bands...

I;m not sure who you guys are expecting....

for a relatively small, inexpensive festival this is pretty impressive

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 10:24 PM

No Age had better not pull the s*** they pulled last night.

Posted by Anonymous | March 25, 2011 10:54 PM

washed up wrinkly tats in striped overalls - count me OUT!

Posted by anon | March 25, 2011 10:57 PM

James Blake ought to be a funny set

Posted by Anonymous | March 26, 2011 12:55 AM

glad to see that Dee Snyder will be getting the band out to the festivals again. That will be worth a Sunday ticket to see them do "Cum On Feel Th Noize" again. Just like the old dayz.

all of you guys need to get some pussy or take the sand out of yours. hating on everything seems to be yall part time job, all the comments are so predictable i had to see it for myself

I had to start braising the beef, pork butt and veal shanks for the tomato sauce. It was Michael's favorite. I was making ziti with the meat gravy and I'm planning to roast some peppers over the flames and I was gonna put on some string beans with some olive oil and garlic, and I had some beautiful cutlets that were cut just right, that I was going to fry up before dinner just as an appetizer. So I was home for about an hour. Now my plan was to start the dinner early so Karen and I could unload the guns that Jimmy didn't want, and then get the package for Lois to take to Atlanta for her trip later that night.
