DOWNLOAD: Tôg - Sansen (MP3)

Tôg @ 3pm in Austin

Wandering around Austin's East Side last week, I happened across Norway's Tôg (pronounced Toog) who were playing in the lot ajacent to Cheer Up Charlies. I'm not sure that 3pm under the hot sun was the appropriate introduction to the swirly dancepop (sung in their native tongue) this septet makes, but they held their own and were pretty entertaining. Check out their single "Sansen" -- a hit in Norway -- at the top of this post.

I have a feeling Tôg will be more at home for their upcoming string of NYC dates, all of which are at night: Wednesday (3/23) at the Wierd party at Home Sweet Home, then Friday (3/25) at Cake Shop with Religious to Damn, and Saturday (3/26) at Death by Audio with Caves, Free Blood and Publicist. They're playing Washington DC as well.

All 2011 tour dates for Tôg, plus a couple videos, are below.

"Sansen" is more likely to be a hit than "Reint Mel" which is more close to a teenagers play. Almost hurted my ears trying to listen it. Maybe I'm expecting something like Roxette from northern bands, with more convincing and powerful singers.
