Winter's Into Darkness

Apologies folks, I lied to you. The previously discussed BrooklynVegan event on April 3rd at Union Pool with Wormrot (who just played SXSW), Goden, Deathcycle, and Kings Destroy is not what it seems.... IN FACT, the band "Goden" is not a band at all, but a psuedonym for another much bigger & more influential pioneer of death doom.... Winter! That's correct, Winter will play their first US show in many years on April 3rd in preparation for their showing at the sunn o))) curated event at Roadburn 2011. Tickets for the Brooklyn show are still available, but not for long.
Winter will join names like Scorn, Sunn O))), Corrosion of Conformity (Animosity-lineup), Earth, Caspar Brötzmann Massaker, Hooded Menace, Trap Them, Aluk Todolo, The Secret, Grave Miasma, Mamiffer, and many esteemed others as part of the day long event during the sold-out Roadburn festival. The band recently reissued their death-doom masterpiece Into Darkness on 180 gram vinyl/CD for Southern Lord, get a copy.
Trap Them @ Full Metal Texas

Speaking of Trap Them, the band recently played the BV/1000K stage at Full Metal Texas and a second set of pictures from the show are below.
Trap Them will hit the road for a string of US dates in the coming months with Converge(!) & Dropdead(!), hitting NYC at Santos Party House on May 25th with Burning Love (who also play Union Pool on 4/1 with Nails). Ticketing info is forthcoming. Converge & Dropdead will also team for a split 7" which will "hopefully" be available by the tour. Converge is also currently working on new material for their forthcoming LP.
All tour dates, more pictures from Full Metal Texas, the full Roadburn lineup and the Winter show flyer, below...

Yes, obviously musically enlightened people such as yourself need as many details on the bathroom habits of the Rural Alberta Advantage as humanly possible.

Wow, this band is so much better than the other 4 million bands with bearded dudes playing 2 notes really slow while screaming about evil things. I'll bet the show won't smell like balls at all.

I love how Trap Them is mentioned like they're the headliner and Converge is a support.
Also, "Locking Dropdead At McDonalds". W00t!

Can someone informed share some details about Trap Them's second guitarist? He's new, right? Is he just touring support, or part of the band now?

Because most metal heads are homophobic.
Too bad most of the "underground" or indie metal sounds the same.
Posted by Anonymous | March 24, 2011 4:31 PM
@ 1:56,
Only among rappers. The reason is because they look "different".
Posted by Anonymous | March 24, 2011 5:50 PM
