Despite visa troubles that caused the cancellation of Saturday's Littlefield show, Withered Hand has in fact made it to NYC in time for his shows at Cake Shop and Rockwood Music Hall, and will be attending/playing SXSW as well.

I'm already sick of hearing about SXSW. All those bands play NYC anyhow. Fuck Texas and the travelling hipster minstrel show.

It is always a bit scary to arrive in the States if you need a visa. You never know for how long you are staying in the security check line... but it is all for the best!

"Godspeed > SXSW"
As someone that has both seen GYBE live and been to SXSW, SXSW is easily better. GYBE are not that great live. That said, I will be seeing them again this week, my first time since 2003. GYBE are amazing recorded, but live are just so/so. Still glad to see that they are back.
SXSW is more than just music, the interactive portion is excellent if you are in the field. Unfortunately, that part is in decline due to the rise of social media. Too many people with Twitter/Facebook/mobile apps and not enough real techies/thinkers.

I for one am thrilled at the news and looking forward to his shows and am happy he will be continuing his journey to Austin as planned. Godspeed You Pasty Scot.
