DOWNLOAD: BOBBY - Sore Spores (MP3)

BOBBY @ SXSW (more by Dominick Mastrangelo)

As first experienced by NYC at Bowery Ballroom before a set by the Low Anthem, and then seen and heard in Austin by those at SXSW (see here, here and here), BrooklynVegan is proud to present BOBBY live at Knitting Factory in Brooklyn on May 5th with support from Alex Bleeker and the Freaks (and possibly one more band TBA). Tickets are on sale now for what is currently BOBBY's only upcoming live show.

As you know, BOBBY is a band (not a person) featuring a member of Mountain Man (a band not a man) on vocals. Which member of Mountain Man that is, depends on who is available (Molly Sarle is officially the frontwoman, but Amelia Meath filled in on the recent live dates). Mountain Man's only upcoming show at the moment is the Newport Folk Festival, though I wouldn't be surprised if they fill in their schedule by the time that fest comes around.

Alex Bleeker also belongs to another band, Real Estate to be specific, and they have a whole bunch of other shows coming up.

At first I really thought that Bobby is also the name of the vocalist. LOL

What a confusing name, Bobby. I also thought that Bobby is the vocalist. It's like you'd have a band named "George". Anyway, they still are awesome.

Oh Wow! Bobby is coming to NYC? When is this? It's now July. Have they and gone already? How do get tickets? That will be awesome!

"None are older than 23, but their sensibilities are shockingly sculpted for a rap crew of any age -- an iconography forged on upside down cruci?xes, the occasional swastika, Kodachrome colors, skate culture and a slashing irony.
