Sleigh Bells

CSS and Sleigh Bells have been on the road since Coachella. In mid-May they finally reach NYC for THREE shows, all of which are now sold out. And though they have not added a fourth NYC show, tickets are on sale for an afterparty happening at Santos Party House on Thursday, May 12th. CSS are DJing it. Party host "Dark Disco" writes:

"Missed your chance to score tickets to the CSS show? Dark Diso is back this month as the OFFICIAL AFTER-PARTY featuring a CSS DJ SET!!! Sometimes you want to be surrounded by the beautiful people, the dangerous people, the smartest people, the creative people. The people who sometimes, shine a little more in the depths of darkness. Enter into a club where you can disappear and have the best night of your life. Where you can love and hate equally and then drink and dance it off. With lineups that are surprising, insightful, and always on the absolute tip of the edge featuring DJ's, Producers, and artists who are true creators and who's only goal is to keep the dancefloor live. The environment is an ever changing inspiration of visual artists who's installations fill the void of your mind with something new to deconstruct."
The CSS/Sleigh Bells tour hit La Zona Rosa in Austin, TX on 4/23. The pictures in this post are from that show which featured an opening set by Bosco Delrey. More of them below...

There is a fourth show in NJ at the Stone Pony, May 13th.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 4:44 PM

is she really wearing her own merch during a performance? sigh...

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 4:45 PM

I was interested in going to the CSS after party, but then I read that awful, pretentious description.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 4:49 PM

4:49, you read my mind completely.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 4:52 PM

Is it weird that I prefer Lovefoxxx to Alexis Krauss? She just seems like she'd be more fun between the sheets

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 4:52 PM

I hate fun.

Posted by Gerald | April 27, 2011 4:52 PM

mom arm fest

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 4:59 PM

I just want to go on record saying that sleigh bells is absolutely fucking terrible. You're welcome.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:04 PM

@4:52 No way. Alexis looks like a freak.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:04 PM

is a chicago bulls "bells" shirt?

like... really?

not to mention the whole copyright infringement thing.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:06 PM

Holy shit bro, I was going to post I'd rather hit lovefoxx. Asian Brazilian girls must be incredible in bed.

Are they on the bill for May 13? Not listed on the Stone Pony site.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:08 PM

Remember when there used to be a counterculture?

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:14 PM

Rip Magazine was a great metal magazine.
Sleigh Bells merch looks like 1995 Victory records hardcore. whoa.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:17 PM

Really, none of you have ever seen a piece of band merch that features a sports logo that's been altered to be the band's name?
Copyright infringement is not really an issue. What's gonna happen? A rep for the Bulls is gonna come to a show and demand a cut of the 40 shirts they sell each night? It's not enough volume to interest an organization like that, and they are probably tour-only.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:17 PM

Skateboarding, Steve Rocco, World Industries, rip off graphics. Duh. They'll send a cease and desist after all the shirts have already been printed.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:25 PM

lovefoxx has been, er, eating well these days. good for her.

also, and you knew we had to go over this, the grammar up top. sheesh. there should be a comma after "In mid-May"

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:26 PM

I know most of you dudes would put it in Lovefoxx's butt. Sleigh Bells are fucking terrible.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:30 PM

Anyone who buys the Slay Bells Bulls Jersey is a tool. That is all. Slay Bells still kicks ass regardless

Posted by Stephen Whitfield | April 27, 2011 5:31 PM

more sxsw please

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:33 PM

lcd was special.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 5:45 PM

I am going to have to quote another Brooklyn vegan poster on this one again "Why does the singer of Sleigh Bells look like she is going off so hard in all of the photos, when she is singing as quietly as posssible on the CD". Also not a fan of the group.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 6:09 PM

5:14, remember when there wasn't an internet?

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 6:25 PM

The internet made a commodity of counter culture. Nothing is special anymore..

well, ok- may as well type it before someone does.... LCD was special.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 6:33 PM

you're a moron.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 6:40 PM

Sleigh Bells is the epitome of what's wrong with terrible hispter/counter culture music. Relying on electronics and a "hard" image = an awesome band? Fuck that.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 6:45 PM

sleigh bells are mia's bitch.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 7:01 PM

Note to Sleigh Bells' guitarist and the fat guy from Best Coast: You're not metal or badass, so stop wearing death metal/black metal t-shirts.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 7:17 PM

So we're looking at another summer of phoneys in basketball jerseys?

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 7:18 PM

But he was on Trustkill.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 7:19 PM

I'm the person wearing the Sarah Palin shirt. No lie.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 7:39 PM

he's playing a jackson guitar? seriously, dude? do i need to get jonny over here and preach the gospel of telecaster? get wit it!

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 7:45 PM

How ironic of you, 7:39.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 7:49 PM

When will tattoo people realize that their bodies look like pieces of used scratch paper? Very, very few tattoos look good, and yours probably aren't among them. A sophomoric collage all over your arms makes you look...young and stupid. I can't wait until the 2040-era Federal Government has to bail you all out to pay for your tattoo removal.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 7:54 PM

thank you, 5:14

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 8:02 PM

I don't know 7:17, he's playing a Jackson guitar. He might actually like metal.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 8:20 PM

I'm tired of all these indie rock girls with their faux-badass posturing.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 8:40 PM

Did Tim move to Austin, or has he only been posting Austin tickets on here?

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 8:43 PM

I meant Austin photos.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 8:43 PM

7:17, the guitarist of Sleigh Bells used to play in Poison the Well, a very important metalcore band from a decade ago. So yeah, he's not trying to "look tough" by wearing metal shirts.

I cant vouch for the guy from Best Coast. Perhaps he's just a fan of heavy music?

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 9:34 PM

Gonna go listen to some Poison The WEll to make myself feel less awful.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 9:41 PM

poison the well was an AWFUL fucking screamo band my friends listened to in high school. they werent cool then, theyre not cool now. not entirely sure whether sleigh bells is any better, however.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 10:12 PM

Brooklyn is the new Northeast Austin

Posted by Austinite | April 27, 2011 10:20 PM

Too many bitchy posters here.... and not even in a fun trolly sort of way.

Just admit it - you're boring.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 10:43 PM

Poison the Well wasnt screamo. Youre probably the same type of guy who says that Avenged Sevenfold and System of A Down are SO hardcore.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 12:05 AM

no, im the kind of guy who thinks all those bands are pretty much shit. and yes, poison the well was screamo. they were a lame alternative press friendly, flat-ironed hair, opening-for-kittie warped tour screamo band. sorry!

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 12:44 AM

Actually, Poison the Well were a pretty badass band back in the day, so go back to sucking your mothers dick

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 1:04 AM

...

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 2:08 AM

does the guitarist use that many marshall stacks? or are they props like KISS uses to implore EGO might of metal? I wonder.

Cmon, OBVIOUS.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 2:10 AM

2040 will be crazy..

the end of lies
real music will be here. and here.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 2:29 AM

Poison the Well were never badass, they were just one of many shitty bands who were ripping off At the Gates back in the day.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 5:50 AM

these are som of the best photos Ive seen on this blog by far!

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 8:07 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 8:59 AM

SLEIGHER!!!!!!!

Posted by Jery | April 28, 2011 9:31 AM

The band is loud, and besides they see that they live well and ones that sell souvenirs. It is as if the royal wedding.

Posted by ceapa cu miere | April 28, 2011 10:02 AM

I guess CSS is not playing the Pony gig?

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 10:08 AM

Nobody is talking about Dylan going electric again

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 10:31 AM

yum, hummus.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 11:34 AM

I think both bands should add a strip show to their acts.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 12:39 PM

After party with me, Alexis Krauss, Luísa Hanae Matsushita and Madeline Folin in my King size bed last night. You should see the tape!

Posted by Captain Menage | April 28, 2011 12:50 PM

Uh, OK, Tommy Lee...

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2011 12:55 AM

Why does the singer of Sleigh Bells look like she is going off so hard in all of the photos, when she is singing as quietly as posssible on the CD

Posted by Anonymous | April 29, 2011 1:11 PM

Because the music is many times louder in concert, so she needs to scream to be heard.

Posted by Anonymous | April 30, 2011 1:52 PM

how much were the jerseys going for?

Posted by Anonymous | May 1, 2011 3:42 PM

herzliche Grüsse aus Deutschland.

They're impossible to find.

Following my own analysis, billions of persons all over the world receive the loans from various banks. So, there is good possibilities to receive a bank loan in every country.
