Debbie & Tiffany (Don't Stop Believin')... -- Canal Room, NYC, 1/22/2011
Tiffany & Debbie Gibson

Horrifying, ironic, awesome, call it what you want, but Debbie Gibson and Tiffany are going on tour together. They're promising a full list of dates, but meanwhile the first show at NYCB Theatre at Westbury on July 29th is on sale now, AND (this is an update to the original post...) Tiffany plays a show at BB King's this Sunday.

The two 80's pop stars collaborated recently on a campy b-movie for Syfy called 'Mega Python vs Gatoroid' and also shared a stage for two shows in a row at Canal Room in NYC on January 22nd. They were only special guests at the NYC shows though. The top billing on that night actually belonged to 80's tribute band Rubix Kube who regularly play shows at Canal Room and now Brooklyn Bowl too. Sometimes they have special guests like they did that night. To quote Andrew (who braved this show and brought back these pictures), "Rubix Kube played what felt like 100 songs."

Tiffany and Debbie only played a few songs at each show, and then took the stage together for a duet of "Don't Stop Believin'" which is Rubix Kube's traditional closing song. Their setlists are below, as are many more (belated) pictures from the whole night...

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 12:15 PM

Nice Job BV. Neglect to post bands who are actually good in the area, while doing you best to constantly promote shit.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 12:22 PM

12:13,

Which thread should we discuss this in?

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 12:25 PM

Hopefully a Soundgarden thread...well I guess there really is no good place...carry on!

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 12:28 PM

hey bv, i'm sure sammy hagar is going on tour this summer. do you have dates? what about foreigner? damn yankees? oh, wait, i know, what about whitney houston's latest comeback attempt. come on, bv, don't let us down. we want to know!

Wondering about Soundgarden also. The ticket price is completely bloated for the announced shows already which makes me a little disgusted.
More nervous about the NYC venue. LA is the Forum which is MSG comparable. Penn's landing in Phila is smaller than those so ????. Luckily MSG is closed this summer so they cannot play there(thank god!)Terminal 5 seems to be too small for the sizes they want to play in.
My guess is Radio City which would be fine. Unless they get greedy and decide to forgo the city(since MSG is unavailable) like Sade is doing and play Nassau Coliseum or IZOD.

I am thinking PNC and Jones?

Who knows though...Yeah the Philli show is high at $62 but the Service Charge is the more redic item at $14.50 a ticket!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 12:52 PM

Anyone been to Festival Pier? How is the sound, size, parking?

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 12:53 PM

This is amazing. I laughed for a solid 5 minutes over those photos of Debbie Gibson.

I don't care how late this photoset is, seeing them today totally made my day.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 12:54 PM

12:46 wow never thought I would hear Sade and Soundgarden in 1 thread yet alone 1 comment! You are a Smooth Spoonman Operator!

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 12:54 PM

this is all so so terrible.

also, is it just me or does Debbie Gibson resemble Iggy Pop???

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 1:12 PM

"I am thinking PNC and Jones?"

Those are actually better ideas than me thinking Radio City. Summer Outdoors. Yeah. Probably one of those 2 or both. Makes more sense.

Yeah the ticketmaster fee is insane. Expect the same for here.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 1:15 PM

Debbie looks more like Hedwig than Iggy Pop.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 1:41 PM

Getting pretty excited for The End of Days

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 1:47 PM

Soundgarden is playing the Williamsburg Waterfront. Two nights.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 2:28 PM

This band should rename themselves the chili dogs.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 2:44 PM

2:28,

Is that just speculation or...you actually have some sort of insight on that?

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 2:47 PM

2:47, it is confirmed. It will be in the next round of dates.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 3:33 PM

Thanks 3:33. You know the exact dates by any chance?

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 3:42 PM

they both look hideous.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 4:33 PM

Debbie Gibson is soundgardens new singer.

Posted by Anonymous | April 22, 2011 4:54 PM

Why would you believe 3:33 just because he says it is confirmed. Are you that stupid Soundgarden is not playing 2 nights at the Williamsburg Waterfront. AEG is not booking their tour. Idiots.
