James Blake @ Stubb's
James Blake

As mentioned, after he made his U.S. debut at Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, James Blake played his first SXSW show at Stubb's on the Austin fest's first night with Yuck and others. That set is streaming at NPR, and a few pictures from the show are in this post.

And as you know, James will return to American in May for a tour that includes sold out shows at Le Poisson Rouge and Bowery Ballroom. Then in July he's back in the states to make an appearance at Chicago's Pitchfork Festival, but not before he headlines Webster Hall in NYC on July 13th. Tickets for the new show go on sale Friday at noon. All dates and those pictures are below...

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 2:30 PM

Rebecca Black was doing this sound way before James Blake.

Hype Hype Hype, Baby!

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 2:34 PM

This is America, let's write out the tour dates properly.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 2:36 PM

Once it goes to Webster Hall, you know drunk boys/girls will be talking non-stop.

LPR and Bowery will be 10 times better.

esp LPR

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 2:36 PM

Bowery is bad enough with the socialites as is.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 2:38 PM

Yea true for Bowery/MHOW.....LPR will be the show to be at.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 2:54 PM

Those tour dates are wrong with the venues....

Philly show was moved to 1st Unitarian Church

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 2:55 PM

that MHOW show was one of the better performances I've recently seen. sorry to rain on the hater parade but it's true. the kid delivers.

James Blake + Grandslam+ Frohawk + Hummus is a fucking combination.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 3:02 PM

I don't think James Blake is old enough to get into Webster Hall

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 3:09 PM

tried to get into this album but totally not feeling it. Maybe my loss, time will tell.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 3:10 PM

^ na, this dude is overrated.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 3:41 PM

"Bowery is bad enough with the socialites as is."

It isn't just at Bowery, sadly.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 3:53 PM

wish he had more than 1 line songs that repeat over and over

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 4:24 PM

I really don't like the hype around James Blake. Just because he is from the UK and has connections to Warp doesn't mean that he makes good music.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 4:26 PM

James Blake is underrated in my opinion, but I thought Ocean's 13 was a good movie so what do I know

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 4:29 PM

James Blake is awesome. you all really should listen to him before you start hating on him. He's got a great range, his voice is strong, good song selection. Hits on all cylinders.

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 4:39 PM

James Blake is a genius. I know you know too, unless you're one of those LCD fans trolling the BV

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 4:48 PM

Trolls like soup?

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 4:58 PM

Who is Abe Frohawk? I missed it

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 6:05 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 11:08 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 4, 2011 11:51 PM
