Evan Dando

Evan Dando & The Lemonheads have a few random upcoming dates scheduled. The Lemonheads will share a bill with The Canon Logic on April 28th at Maxwell's in Hoboken. Tickets are still available. You can also catch Josh Lattanzi of The Lemonheads at Bowery Ballroom on May 26 & 27 as part of the Bob Dylan tribute that will also include members of the Strokes, Hold Steady, etc, etc.

All other upcoming Evan Dando dates are in other countries at the moment, including a June 16th Evan & Juliana Hatfield show in Toronto for the NXNE festival which, like Brooklyn's own multi-venue festival Northside, recently expanded its lineup. Except that the NXNE festival actually has a whole lot of good bands that are worth going to see.

yeah really NXNE is owning a lot of the summer music fests, which is a shame because a lot of us won't make it up there

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 9:18 AM

It's a shame about The Lemonheads

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 9:20 AM

will they play "mrs. robinson"? that's all i care about

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 9:26 AM

Come on people, lemonheads, big audio dynamite, seaweed? This latest nostalgia wave is completely embarrassing.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 9:27 AM

who gives a shit

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 9:30 AM

The Lemonheads were always horseshit. Why don't bands like this just stay dead?

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 9:42 AM

Was Evan the one who sang "Piss Bottle Man"?

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 10:15 AM

Juliana Hatfield was special

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 10:17 AM

The band's first show was played on August 18, 1986.

ahh, yes, of course. and ... they're relevant today by ____________ .

come on kids, help fill in the blank.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 11:02 AM

That's a trick question, right? It's D, none of the above. They're aren't relevant! What do I win?!?!?!

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 11:03 AM

i think Juliana Hatfield is amazing! i'll want married her!:)

Posted by Varicella | April 27, 2011 11:05 AM

Can't they dig up the Spin Doctors for this schlockfest?

Posted by Evan Dandolion | April 27, 2011 11:37 AM

Evan Dando wins the award for Biggest Douche Bag I've Ever Met At Max Fish.

Posted by Edward | April 27, 2011 11:40 AM

He also wins the award for worst on-stage guest appearance. He joined the Smashing Pumpkins on stage during 1979 at MSG during the Mellon Collie tour and did nothing but dance on a speaker. What a hack.

Posted by Sackratomato | April 27, 2011 11:45 AM

Evan Dando was 12 years old in 1979. Not sure what else he could have done.

Dando From Above 1979

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 12:11 PM

they put out some solid stuff from '87-'96...

Car Button Cloth: Most underrated album of the alt-rock era?

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 12:49 PM

no
Hey Babe is the most underrated album of the alt-rock era. No contest.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 12:57 PM

I vote for the Empire Records Soundtrack. You've got Gin Blossoms, The Cranberries, Better Than Ezra, Toad the Wet Sprocket and Evan Dando. A real all-star collection.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 1:04 PM

has Evan Dando stopped taking drugs? He hasn't seemed to have found the shampoo yet.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 1:06 PM

>Evan Dando was 12 years old in 1979. Not sure what else he could have done.

The song 1979. Not the year.

Posted by Craptabulous | April 27, 2011 3:39 PM

12:57: Are you serious? Hey Babe is pretty good, but the most underrated album of that era? Not quite.

This is worth it for the Descendents and Ty Segall.

this whole thread is making me physically ill. some of us have put a lot of work into forgetting the '90s altogether... please stop trying bringing it back just because you are too young to have any memory of that far superior decade, the '80s.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 4:58 PM

I hope Descendents come to NYC.

Posted by Joe | April 27, 2011 8:36 PM

I can only assume that 4:58 was most likely born before 1973.

Posted by Anonymous | April 27, 2011 9:56 PM

first off the lemonheads had some really excellent songs, dando is a douche of course but the guy could write a great fucking song. he had the drummer from squirrelbait on tour in 1989 or whatever and that alone was excellent. are you assholes gonna slag other possible reunions like Jawbreaker??? or maybe the ones happening already like MBV? you gonna slag Dinosaur Jr or the Feelies or how about OFF because a balding old guy is singing? all those so called reunion acts have 45-55 year olds playing and sounding better than half the 22 year old so called talents that i've seen lately..i mean Cut Copy? wtf is that. I say take your white belt, too tight pink izod hipster stupidity and suck it and LEARN.

BRING ON: Bikini KIll, bring back Fugazi, bring back Ride....i could go on.

Posted by fuck. | April 28, 2011 8:36 AM

i cant forget the 1990's. Chavez came out in 1994. I will never put down the '90's. Chavez.

Posted by Anonymous | April 28, 2011 8:43 AM

@8:36 I know Mrs. Robinson was a pretty sweet composition and I'll be at the Dino Jr. show (translation: No shit sherlock, and I'll really be there to see Fucked Up).

And FYI I'd love to see Bikini Kill or Fugazi AND I dig Cut Copy.

D Generation is playing soon- happy now?
