Last time I saw him at Beacon I was not feeling it at all. He's a really talented guy but there were so many stop starts - too much a brain scramble.

$45? No.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:03 PM

The Blandshell on a muggy August night? $45.70? That new elcectro-folky avant-prog bullshit he's been doing? Sounds like a PASS.

Smuggling free booze into Prospect Park? WIN!

Posted by The Real Real Yup. PERIOD | April 7, 2011 1:06 PM

US $111.75 for APC.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:07 PM

Thanks, BV, for not announcing the Wednesday fan presale! Not paying TM fees was clutch.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:08 PM

Prospect Park shows should be free. Not fair! I love Sufjan.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:09 PM

still learning to tie a tie? Shame on you Sufjan!

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:10 PM

^Suck it up, pay the money, summer's here, you can smuggle booze in there.

Posted by The Real Real Yup. PERIOD | April 7, 2011 1:10 PM

$10 in fees???? 29%????

Posted by Stevie Penishead | April 7, 2011 1:11 PM

Smuggle booze in?!?! What do you think I am? Some kind of grubby bum with a flask full of cheap old man whiskey?!?!?!

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:13 PM

hm, keeps erroring on check out. ticketmaster pwn....

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:13 PM

update: seems to be working now, finally managed to get two.

sorry to interrupt the whining about how expensive a benefit show is / that ticketmaster charges fees

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:17 PM

$35 base price
$10 ticketmaster fees
$5 order processing

$50 ticket.

I don't remember getting hit this badly on the last few concert purchases I've made.

Posted by Jimmy Timmy | April 7, 2011 1:19 PM

$35.00 base price
$3.12 etix convenience fee
$4.50 delivery fee

Wondering if Frohawk will be crying against the railing for this show.

Posted by WINNING | April 7, 2011 1:22 PM

^ well, remember this time

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:22 PM

Paying the extra $13 per ticket sucks, but paying $35 to see Sufjan AND help support all the other free shows Prospect Park hosts over the summer is worth it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:23 PM

I can't believe people still bitch about ticketmaster fees. Guess what. It's never going to change! Deal and stop whining

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:23 PM

I bitch for a second about fees and then its like screw it, I am going to see an amazing show and it is never going to change.

Posted by The Real Real Yup. PERIOD | April 7, 2011 1:24 PM

as long as it's not raining it should be a right fine time.

QQ - it's all GA? no assigned seats up front?

I saw Spoon at Celebrate Brooklyn a couple years ago, full GA, and even despite Jay Reatard opening up, it was the single worst concert experience I have had in the past 10 years. Talk about an asshole crowd.

Hope that the Sufjan crowd is a little more chill.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:33 PM

I agree that all shows at the bandshell should be free ~! Break free from the chains of Ticketmaster, Soofie ~!

Posted by Deano Bravo | April 7, 2011 1:33 PM

Free Prospect Park Bandshell from the Chains of the Man!

Posted by The Real Real Yup. PERIOD | April 7, 2011 1:39 PM

Yup and Deano sitting in a tree ...

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:39 PM

A Mehfect circle

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:42 PM

I pretty excited for the perfect circle show but not $100 excited. LOL. Not about to pay that much to relive my high school days. Same with Rammstein.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 1:53 PM

I was being ironic.

Posted by The Real Real Yup. PERIOD | April 7, 2011 2:08 PM

APC fucking rules!

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 2:11 PM

It's not like anyone cares, 2:08.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 2:14 PM

APC sucks ass

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 2:30 PM

Last time I saw APC at Hammerstein Ballroom it was 2001 and the ticket was $30. During the show, someone yelled "Maynard, I want to ride your 6 inches!"

This year (over a decade later), tickets are $75. So, I expect someone to yell "Maynard, I want to ride your 6 inches and lube your asshole with hummus." That will be worth the 150% increase in ticket price.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 2:49 PM

i like feathers and pageants

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 3:07 PM

Holy shit, I would have liked to see APC, but those prices are ridiculous. Tool shows don't even cost that much

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 3:22 PM

apc costs more than tool because they have a decent drummer

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 3:32 PM

No wonder Maynard hates us fans. See 2:49 for reference.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 3:47 PM

Maynard hates idiots. You are an idiot if you are a fan of Tool or APC. Therefore Maynard hates his fans.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 4:08 PM

Let me tell you what 'Like a Virgin' is about. It's all about a girl who digs a guy with a big dick. The entire song. It's a metaphor for big dicks.

No, no. It's about a girl who is very vulnerable. She's been fucked over a few times. Then she meets some guy who's really sensitive...

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa... Time out Greenbay. Tell that fucking bullshit to the tourists.

Toby... Who the fuck is Toby? Toby...

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 4:10 PM

Cars presale code is BAND

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 4:20 PM

Can't wait for the amateur indy scalpers to eat up APC and then resell the tickets below face.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 4:30 PM

If you are "speculating" on APC tickets, you deserve to be ass raped by a large man named Bubbah and traded between the others in the cell block

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 4:34 PM

4:20 has the best posting time, but the worst timing.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 4:51 PM

Oh there will be speculating. Mostly by idiots who don't realize APC is not Tool.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 5:47 PM

Why are we talking about a CARS Code????

Posted by The Real Real Yup. PERIOD | April 7, 2011 5:50 PM

well they gonna get to know Bubbah's TOOL soon enough, ya feel me?!?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 5:56 PM

4:20 thought he was being cool but got scooped by someone hours ago in a more appropriate post:

hey I heard some new, not sure where to post it, but Cars presale code is BAND.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 6:14 PM

What time does the Cars presale go on? What's the password?

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 6:27 PM

Why is this an AEG show? Looks like Bowery Presents blew it with the Decemberists.

Posted by Anonymous | April 7, 2011 8:34 PM

THE CARS PW -> I NEED IT NOW!!!!!

Posted by The Real Real Yup. PERIOD | April 8, 2011 9:45 AM

$178.00 for 2 tickets?! screw that sh*t. no amount of hummus will be worth that

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 10:11 AM

8:34, why the hell do you care if it's AEG or Bowery Presents?

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 10:15 AM

8:34 is a Bowery Present intern that wanted to get into the Sufjan show for free, obviously.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 10:16 AM

APC Sold out. Tickets near face value (after commissions) on Stubhub already. Called it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 10:32 AM

I wish Sufjan was a Bowery Presents show so it could be at Terminal 5 for the douchey environment.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 10:34 AM

"apc costs more than tool because they have a decent drummer"

haaaaa - is this trolling? isn't danny carey considered to be a great drummer?

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 10:41 AM

anyone know what the deal is with the hammerstein apc show - the site said general admission floor when i purchased but when i print the tickets they have section and seat references. only concerned because i couldn't find two but was able to pull single GA floor tickets twice and now when printed they say they are in different floor sections...

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 10:43 AM

10:43, have you ever bought GA tickets? There's always a section/seat designation because the venue needs to keep track of how many tickets were sold.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 10:48 AM

yes 10:48, it was just a little weird cause the seating chart on ticketmaster for the hstein show shows a number of different GA sections and I haven't been to hammerstein in a while so wasn't sure

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 11:02 AM

Which seating chart? The one that says "Dalai Lama," "End Stage Seating," or "Wrestling"? None of them apply to the APC show. It's not like the ticket descriptions say "General Admission Floor - Standing Room" or anything.

Posted by Anonymous | April 8, 2011 11:13 AM

I bet that was intended to be something really stunning and amazing! But who would have known?

Posted by dissertation | July 12, 2011 6:27 AM

Very beautiful post! I was eager to see an interesting stuff like that. I must appreciate this remarkable post.
