After a triumphant set at Roadburn 2011 (pictures from day one HERE, two HERE, and three HERE), Swans have announced a new NYC show that will happen almost a year after the first NYC reunion dates took place. Swans will land at Music Hall of Williamsburg on September 27th. Tickets to the Brooklyn show go on AmEx presale at noon on 4/20 with regular sale kicking off on Friday. At the moment it's their only North American date scheduled, though they'll be touring other areas of the world throughout May.

$35?!?!?!

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 2:49 PM

And exactly what should they charge?

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 2:51 PM

$35 is pretty standard. and worth it for legends like Swans

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 2:51 PM

MHOW > Temple

$35 lol.....NYC shows are getting too expensive.

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 2:54 PM

will be worth every penny...I don't remember what the price was for the Brooklyn Masonic shows, but their live shows are so worth it, no question

Posted by holly | April 18, 2011 2:54 PM

Can we assume they'll be added to ATP, which starts a few days after the Bklyn date?

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 2:55 PM

35 dollars is not a lot, you people should move to iowa

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 2:56 PM

i was actually just joking around

Posted by 2:49 | April 18, 2011 2:56 PM

Gira Rules!!!! Hope he'll be playing some Various Failures-era material this tour!

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 2:59 PM

swans are one of the best live bands i've ever seen, one of the few bands I would actually pay $35 to see

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 3:04 PM

September's a long way off.

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 3:25 PM

fuck ya, those shows at bowery and the temple were amazing.

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 3:28 PM

HMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

A one off date at MHoW in late September?

Could this possibly be a warmup for ATP NJ?

They have been rumored as a no-brainer since Portishead selected them in England.

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 3:36 PM

I throw $35 in the sewer everyday, you poor bastards.

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 3:41 PM

That explains why I find $35 every morning when i'm getting ready for the day

*squawk!* *squawk!*

Posted by the Penguin | April 18, 2011 3:59 PM

you fauxhemians pay $4 for a can of PBR, but you complain about $35 dollar tickets

poseurs

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 4:43 PM

The tickets will be cheaper if they play other states. But I see they are not after returning from Europe where Im sure its taken much of their money just to get around crossing border lines.

Its the extra fee charges etc that go along with NY venues for the most part. And Swans in any form have more originality than any NY band that lasted for the last 30 years.
Many from the early 80's came from the Branca group and held onto that formula too much.

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 5:40 PM

Yeah, $35 is not THAT much compared to some other shows I've seen or been interested in seeing (relatively speaking).

Also, PBR is the one beer I won't even touch. I'll gladly pay twice that for a decent brew. Amstel even.

do the people complaining about the price of a swans ticket even KNOW who they are? how old are you? take some of your mom and dad's rent money and buy some of their music

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 7:27 PM

glad i saw them at masonic temple

Posted by Anonymous | April 18, 2011 10:29 PM

this is the heaviest band in the universe, they make nine inch nails sound like the bee gees...

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2011 11:02 AM

I like how everyone is ragging on the dude who said "$35?!?!?!?!" and then later said he was just joking and you're all still on the rag about it.

Posted by Anonymous | April 19, 2011 11:11 AM

11:02: Hell, Throbbing Gristle makes Nine Inch Nails sound like show tunes.

I still can't wrap my head around the fact I've seen Swans, TG, and Sunn O))) in the same venue all within a year and a half. I'm surprised I'm still alive!
