The Body at the BV/Profound Lore Day Show (more by Samantha Marble)

The Body will bring their 2010 favorite All the Waters of the Earth Turn to Blood to life at Le Poisson Rouge on June 25th when the band will play the venue as part of a seated event with the Assembly of Light Women's Choir! Tickets are on sale.
In related news, a few copies are still available of The Body's tour-only split with Whitehorse that the band sold on their recent trek together post-SXSW. That tour hit Acheron on April 1st with Bad Dream which was the same day we posted an interview with Pete of Whitehorse about his new LP Progression, which is out now on CD.
Check out some video of The Body live (sans choir) below...

Why is this band good? It sort of sounds like a drum set falling down the stairs while someone runs the worlds loudest vacuum cleaner. I love a lot of metal and BBG is usually spot on with the bands he covers on this site but I just don't get the hype over these guys. There is such a thing as too much distortion.

^ best way is to just cough up a few bucks and make your own mind.
what i can tell you is that this band is one of the heaviest shit i've ever seen live.

I gotta be honest, I didn't get it until I saw it in person. But yeah, they're without a doubt the most intense live band on the planet. It feels like your organs could implode any moment.

Agreed. These boys are originally from Arkansas and they come through my town a lot. I try to go see them everytime. I skipped the last show because I believed the tiny host venue would surely collapse.

Holy fucking shit, I was literally just having a conversation with a friend on Friday about how amazing it would be if they played the new record with a choir. And here it is I guess, will be there for sure.
And to the person who said they don't get the hype on this band, I listened to their recorded stuff first and thought it was decent, but didn't really understand it either. Then I saw them live in a tiny venue in Boston and immediately knew the recordings are not able to capture the entireness of the band....the next door tattoo shop complained of the vibrations from the amps knocking their tattoo machine power supplies off of their tables. This venue has been having loud metal shows for as long as I can remember and I have never heard of the shop complaining of a band being too loud..or knocking their machines off of tables.
