Neil Young plays his first of two shows at Lincoln Center tonight.

Lupe Fiasco plays Roseland and then DJs Brooklyn Bowl tonight. In related but unrelated news, I was just reading about the Princeton Spanish professor named Antonio Calvo who killed himself and thought this was an interesting antecdote...

"The vibrant personality his students loved is evident in his faculty webpage on the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Languages and Cultures website. Besides his academic focus on linguistics, heritage language teaching, poetics, the arts of the Harlem Renaissance and the history of language, Calvo said that his "other areas of interest" included the music of Greg Ogsby and Lupe Fiasco, photography and "hiking and excursions from Montauk to Rhode Island's coast, stopping at Block Island."
What else?

if you locked neil young and bob dylan in a room for 15 days with no food or water, who would be alive when you opened the door?

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 12:32 AM

Definitely Neil Young.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 12:55 AM

I think the more relevant question is who has eaten more hummus in their lifetime... Bob Dylan or Neil Young?

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 2:07 AM

^^^

Neil Diamond

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 2:21 AM

Neil Young is definitely more willing to eat a person but Bob is a rascal and could probably break you down psychologically. Ultimately, I think they'd both survive.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 2:53 AM

Neil Young would try to talk to Dylan, and devise a plan of escaping, but Dylan would have already been a few steps ahead and be annoyed with Neil's senseless chatter.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 2:56 AM

I agree with 2:53 except i disagree that they both would survive, it'd be close, but Bob would be the last man standing

Posted by Slob | April 24, 2011 2:58 AM

There is no room that had dyaln and Young HAHA LOL

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 4:11 AM

Neil be able to extend what little resources available simply by following the instructions he had left for his future self contained in the middling 2003 album, movie and comic book "Greendale."

Dylan would just sleep the whole time. With Raquel Welch.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 10:06 AM

dylan would "sing" young some songs. young would have an aneurysm trying to figure out which songs dylan was mumbling through. young drops dead. dylan wins.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 10:22 AM

No 10:22 Young would put on his albums from the '80s (including Trans and Everybody's Rockin) and Dylan's head would explode. Young wins.

Posted by Venkman | April 24, 2011 11:03 AM

they would just get really, really stoned and forget they were locked in a room.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 11:13 AM

hey dude, don't talk shit about trans of everybody's rockin. trans has transformer man, computer age, etc...here's a hummus eating band showing their appreciate so you can too:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ0cLPSfLrg

and everybody's rockin has wonderin' on it, amazing song, greatest video of all time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a6A6oTFdcw

so there.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 11:47 AM

This is how Wonderin should be heard, not that '80s doo wop crap.

I laid an egg in my inlaws toilet this morning. flooded the place.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 12:24 PM

or Dylan would play some of his born-again christian rock albums from the 80s, wait for jesus to come rescue him, then he would forget what happened and get locked in again. (because of the alzheimers)

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 12:33 PM

neil young and bob dylan each ate a bowl of chick peas and then played a show together. they stood on opposite sides of the same stage. which side of the stage would smell the worst? or would the area between them smell the worst?

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 1:14 PM

They would both survive. Both men always have large supplies of dried chickpeas on their persons at all times.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 1:15 PM

Neil Young OWNS you BV clowns! As PROPERTY, cocksuckers!

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 2:04 PM

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 7:56 PM

You fucking idiots are comparing apples and oranges. It's all a matter of taste. When you get dogmatic about your taste you start looking like an asshole.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 9:46 PM

my grandmother told me that she had sex with neil young in the 60's.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 10:18 PM

people. fercryinoutloud, get your damn grammar correct!

it's '60s. not 60's. there's no/none/zero possessive action happening there. the ' is filling in for 19. ok? good. don't make that mistake again or jonny and his telle are comin' after ya'll.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 10:20 PM

James Murphy was at Neil Yong backstage

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 11:40 PM

an old chick snuck onstage and sort of attacked neil tonight, tried hugging and kissing him a bunch before getting taken away by security. hope someone lost their job over it, the whole thing was pretty ridiculous. great show, though the newer material sorta sucks. he butchered cortez by making it all avant-crap for the first 2/3 of the song, which was a huge buzzkill. maybe that's how he has been playing it? otherwise, some night nuggets in the set. good times.

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 11:49 PM

nice nuggets is what i meant, time for bed

Posted by Anonymous | April 24, 2011 11:50 PM

trentemoller fcking blew it up...

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2011 12:11 AM

Posted by Anonymous | April 25, 2011 12:19 AM

Heads up... grammar police comments are WAAAAAYYYYYY worse than comments with actual grammar.
