Big Audio Dynamite at Roseland (more by Chris Gersbeck)
B.A.D.

"If there was any disappointment it was they have been playing the same set at all these shows... I would've liked a couple more songs from 1989's Megatop Phoenix (that album's single, "Contact," was conspicuously missing) but hopefully we'll get some different tracks next time. And I sure do hope there is a next time."
-said Bill after the B.A.D. show at Roseland
We since found out that Big Audio Dynamite will in fact return to North America to play both Lollapalooza (August 6) and Outside Lands (August 14), and now there's even more good news. B.A.D. have started announcing pre-Lollapalooza U.S. dates including Boston, Philly, and another NYC show, but this time the NYC gig is at the much more intimate Brooklyn Bowl on August 3rd! Tickets for the Brooklyn show go on sale Thursday, 5/19 at noon. All dates are listed below...

Small venue, cheaper ticket price, I'm in! Too bad it's in WB, but you don't look at a gift horse in the mouth.

i think they had a hard time filling roseland at those prices... they didn't really have another choice

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2011 9:45 AM

They would have filled Roseland at $35 a ticket. They would fill Brooklyn Bowl at $75 a ticket. They have everything backwards, let's fill a big venue with expensive tickets and then let's play a small venue with cheaper tickets.

Or perhaps their main gear is headed straight to Lollapalooza, and they will play smaller shows at first because they will not have their equipment.

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2011 11:09 AM

sorry you have a shitty advertising or marketing gig

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2011 11:09 AM

Seriously, now...these guys probably have enough talent they could scrap all the old stuff and come up with a brand new sound for 2011

Posted by Hamish | May 17, 2011 11:28 AM

I think one guy was in the Clash, count me in

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2011 11:51 AM

I wish they would add a Asbury Lanes gig - Carbon Silicon played there a few years back!

What's the big hype about this band, other than Mick Jones? Are BAD similar to PIL?

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2011 12:47 PM

BAD are NOT similar to Pil!

BAD are the worst case scenario of how far off the deep end Mick Jones could go with his white man raga crap.

PiL is an amazing post punk band who were a huge influence on most of the younger bands featured on this site. Check out Metal Box.

Mick Jones should get a roundhouse to his face every single day for forming BAD.

^ too true, but for the sake of full disclosure PIL slid off pretty hard shortly after Metal Box. In fact 2011 PIL and BAD are probably the same, critically speaking.

2011 PIL were freaking awesome

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2011 2:35 PM

Ok thanks for the info.

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2011 2:51 PM

Those PiL reunion shows were seriously awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | May 17, 2011 4:41 PM

I don't know about 2011 PIL, but 2010 PIL were amazing
