B.O.M.B. Fest

As mentioned in various posts (but never with its own dedicated post), B.O.M.B. Fest (Bring Our Music Back) is taking place May 28 and 29 at Comcast Theatre in Hartford, CT (Memorial Day Weekend). This is the first time that the festival (originally scheduled to take place at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury) is going to be at the Hartford venue and the first time the Hartford venue ever hosted a non-profit show...

"...and never one as unique as B.O.M.B. Fest. In addition to national talent, festival guests will experience more than over 25 local acts across multiple stages, delicious food vendors, unique craft vendors and one-of a kind art installations, all complemented by Comcast Theatre's professional amenities - clean bathrooms, spacious parking lots and state of the art sound systems.

Here's the best part of B.O.M.B. Fest! It's all about the give back. Part of the money you spend will help kids who don't have it so good....like the ones at The Hole In The Wall Gang Camp and Connecticut Children's Hospital.

The festival will be headlined by Weezer and Snoop Dogg. Other performers include Dam-Funk, Dum Dum Girls and Dan Deacon, in addition to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The New Pornographers, Best Coast, Titus Andronicus, Wavves The Cool Kids, The Felice Brothers, Man Man, and more. Tickets are still available.

Having grown up in Connecticut, I can vouch that the state's local music scene is rather dire in terms of quality.

I'm going to the day 1 mostly for the weirdness of seeing bands like Real Estate, Woods and HEALTH at the Comcast Center. It's the first good thing to come to the Comcast Center since forever. I probably wouldn't go if it were so close to me, but many of these bands won't even step close to the area so I'll take advantage of it while I can. Plus its non-profit so I don't feel like the venue is raping me.

ovlov is the best local band on that list

This line-up is amazing!!! But you should check out the CMJ Music Festival if you live in the city I believe some of the bands are going to be there.
