Emmy the Great

One couple flew up from Florida just to see Emmy the Great perform a sole U.S. show at Pianos on May 4th. That same couple requested Emmy play "Two Steps Forward," but Emmy didn't get to it on stage, so she played it out front on Ludlow Street after the show. Watch from two angles, in the videos below...

4:55--didn't somebody post a derisive comment along the same lines last fall or something. Sorry, need a new shtick 4:55. Come on 4:55, bring your A-GAME!

Nice voice. Boring song. Sounds more in line with the someone playing the Living Room than Pianos. And the dude that reminds her of her own lyrics? Come on. She only has 2 albums. Maybe if she came up with a less intricate guitar part...oops, no, nevermind.

Haters gon hate I'm afraid... The fact of the matter is that it's a long song with many verses and a really long (albeit simple) chord progression.

No one was there to see prog-rock, we were there to bask in the charisma of Emmy; and it was warm.

Not quite a warm as posting disrespectful comments from the comfort of your anonymity, but close ;)

Emmy is an extraordinary songwriter and someday she will be appreciated as she deserves. So far her career seems like it is stuck in first gear. I only read about this single concert on the day it occurred, and now her 'tour' is over? There are wanted terrorists that are easier to find than an Emmy performance! Please, just a 2-night stint at the Mercury! Maxwell's! Advertised in advance please.

what's this difference between this and a subway performer?

They don't call her Emmy for nothing.

BV should have posted a heads up about this gig earlier than a few hours before the show.
