Bon Iver has released "Calgary," the first single from new album 'Bon Iver' (6/21), as a streaming/downloadable MP3 following a string of select worldwide radio premieres today. Get the embed code for the track here: http://bit.ly/kNwwKaTickets recently went on sale for Bon Iver's upcoming show at United Palace which is part of a bigger tour."Calgary" is also available instantly with all pre-order packages of 'Bon Iver' through Jagjaguwar mail order. I appreciate your interest in my opinion about the ending and will explain:
I liked the ending (yes, sparse ...minimal hit hat hits that fade to outro) because I wasn't expecting it. The rest of the song moves to various places (sonically) so for the tune to sort of whisper away was unexpected and beautiful ...to me. Sometimes less is more in my opinion and he did a lot with "a fucking high hat being hit"
But hey that's just me.
Now I know where I heard those keyboard sounds before (hate to admit it) ...those are the Van Halen 5150 "is this love" keyboard settings ...or damn close to it.
