Paul Simon at the 9:30 Club

"Simon packed his 2-hour set with lots of classics, a couple of new songs (which sounded great), and even a couple of covers. His voice still sounds beautiful and pure; his band is absolutely stellar, and their well-placed solos and occasional jams were spot on.Like he did in Chicago earlier in the month, and will do on June 6th at Webster hall in NYC, Paul Simon played a club show at the 9:30 Club in DC on Friday (5/27). He played the larger DAR Constitution Hall two nights earlier. He played The Borgata in Atlantic City last night (5/28).Simon had just played DC's DAR Constitution Hall a few days ago to rave reviews. But the 9:30, which holds about 1,200 people, is one third the size of DAR. Seeing him in this intimate setting was quite an experience and the (over)sold-out crowd showed him much love throughout the night." [club D]

He looks like an old little troll in that first picture.

I was at the 9:30 Club show, and he closed his set with Crazy Love. Perhaps your source was a printed set list that he varied from. He's been swapping that with Boy In the Bubble as opener/closer, and since I arrived late and did not hear Bubble, maybe he opened with that.
BTW, 9:30, if it's a Friday night show and the headliner (in fact, the only act) goes onstage at 8:00, you advertise "EARLY SHOW" when the tickets go on sale. Thanks.

Love Is Eternal and Questions For The Angels were not played. That section of the setlist should be The Cool, Cool River and Getting Ready For Christmas Day.

somebody just put the audio on dime

Rick is correct -- he played "Cool, Cool River" and "Getting Ready for Christmas Day" in place of "Love is Eternal Sacred Light" and "Questions for the Angels"
"Cool, Cool River" was my personal highlight of the evening. Rarely played, and it sounded very tight and prophetic.

Does anyone think he looks like Mr. Roper?
