Question: Why is Robyn so popular amongst this site, P'fork and other indie-ish blogs? I'm just curious. She's pretty much pop music through and through. And glossy pop at that. And while "pop" isn't really my thing, I'm not knocking it. However, there are countless(!) pop acts on the charts, and I never see them getting the indie, for lack of a better word, coverage that she seems to obtain. So ... wtf?

I am a nobody and even I was playing that type of music in the '90s. Bass VI/drum combo. Never went anywhere (did toured with Unsane), but what DFA1979 is doing is hardly new.

Pat Smear looks like a Philipino Ed Asner.

I guess dfa 79 is the only bass/drum combo I can think of that's maybe just trying to play pop songs
