The Soundtrack of Our Lives at SXSW 2011 (more by Bill Pearis)
The Soundtrack of Our Lives

The Soundtrack Of Our Lives's greatest hits compilation Golden Greats Vol.1 was released earlier this year, and the band celebrated with a trip to Austin to play SXSW. Now these psyche-poppy Swedes will make their return trek back to US soil for a short string of select dates that will include two in the NYC area: Le Poisson Rouge on June 5 and Bell House on June 6th. Tickets behind the links. All tour dates and some recent video is below.

So, they have a greatest hits compilation? Apparently my definition of great differs from theirs. Maybe the least shitty music we made compilation would be more fitting. Fuck y'all

this band is TERRRible. like really, really bad.

^ never heard of them I presume? They have released 7 or so albums and put on a great live show. They are huge in Sweden so the greatest hits is probably based on popular singles in Sweden.

i have actually seen them live and it was painful. "huge in sweden" doesn't do much for me.

That guy looks like Gimli.

Posted by Anonymous | May 12, 2011 5:28 PM

greatest HIT? did they even have ONE?

Posted by Anonymous | May 12, 2011 5:48 PM

5:15 where/when did you see them?

Posted by Anonymous | May 12, 2011 7:00 PM

i saw them in 2004 and 2009...both times were amazing...great band.

albums are hit and miss but they are always solid for 4-5 great tracks.

anyone who thinks theyre horrible are straight idiots who are new to music.

I am imagining that this chain is a bunch of painfully underfed, indie rock nerds. This band is amazing. Fuck You All.

I saw them live back in 2004 as well, I think it was Irving Plaza. Great show. But haven't heard much of their stuff since...

Their Mercury Lounge show in 2005? Is still one of my all time favorite live shows. They did the first half acoustic then a rock set. Show was aboiut 200 minutes long! Yowza!

This band sounds like a bunch of other vanilla flavored bands rolled into one. Having a ton of influences doesn't make a band interesting.

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2011 9:50 AM

70's rock is their influence...they are not all over the board..proves you don't know there music.

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2011 10:07 AM

Their music... that is

Posted by Anonymous | May 13, 2011 10:08 AM

TSOOL rule... one of the best live band out there. But you do gotta like rock n' roll.

Posted by bill p | May 13, 2011 3:35 PM

TSOOL are truly an amazing band live and on record.
Youre a fucking fool if you actually need to come on a message board and thrash them. Thank god you won't be coming to these gigs. Wash your ears and prick out with what ever douchy indie shit you deem worthy. Moron.

Anyone go yesterday? How long did they play? What time did they get on! Am trying to go tonight!

Posted by Anonymous | June 6, 2011 10:51 AM

I saw them in Chicago on the 4th. I have been a fan for a few years but now after seeing them live I understand how amazing they really are.
