Ha, nothing at all about the free Talib Kweli show. Nice.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2011 8:55 PM

Thats because Talib Kweli plays once a week in NYC and it's not very interesting.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2011 9:47 PM

@9:47 Lame excuse. Heck of a lot more interesting than Big Terrific.

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2011 10:26 PM

Fleeeeeeet foxxxxxxxxxxes!

Posted by Anonymous | May 18, 2011 10:55 PM

@ 855 sponsored by vice. don't ever go. not worth waiting for.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 12:59 AM

just got back from United Palace - great show!!

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 1:14 AM

@ 114am were people selling tixs outside? not worth $50 in my opinion....

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 1:26 AM

Most definitely worth $50. Once they turned the bass down (thanks complaining people!) the show was excellent.

Only problem I had was with the lighting person. Really bad with timing. For example, shouldn't have 3 spotlights on Robin tuning his guitar while the other guy is doing his bass sax(?) solo.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 2:20 AM

What were set times for Fleet Foxes?

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 7:24 AM

You will be able to get really cheap tix outside the venue. I did last night. People were basically begging me to buy their tix.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 8:58 AM

thanks 8.58. might be worth the trek up there to try for some cheap tix.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 9:29 AM

But 175th street is quite a trek indeed...

I agree with everything you said. The lighting did bother me somewhat, and it seemed smoky hazy. Otherwise, show was great. Sound was terrible for the first 2 songs until they turned down the bass. I bought first row center loge tickets on Stub Hubb for $24.95 + fees at 5:30PM, so definitely troll stub hub until the last minute and you can get great deals. Prices seem to drop every 30 minutes starting at about 2PM.

My friend tried to unload an extra ticket on Craigslist for a week with no buyer. No one looking for tickets outside UP either, so he ended up eating the cost.

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 9:43 AM

if you are trying to unload balcony seats there is a good chance you're going to eat them

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 10:11 AM

And balcony seats taste bitter going down!

Posted by Anonymous | May 19, 2011 10:14 AM

Had no problem getting my money back on a single ticket day of. But that's for orchestra.
