Gloss Drop

Battles are currently on tour and will eventually hit Pitchfork Fest, ATP NJ, and Moogfest at the end of October. Right after Moogfest, it was just announced, Battles will headline a NYC show at Webster Hall on November 1. Tickets go on sale Friday (6/10) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (6/8) at noon.

Their new album Gloss Drop came out today (6/7) and is currently streaming on Spinner. The album is also available now on Amazon as LP, CD, and MP3.

In honor of the album's release, the band have put together a YouTube playlist of some of their favorite videos. Check that playlist out here. Their diverse choices include "Spiderman scales Abu Dhabi's tallest building" and "Mac Tips Apple iPad Review HD". A teaser video about the playlist can also be watched below.

Speaking of curating, Battles also co-curate ATP Nightmare Before Christmas with Caribou and Les Savy Fav December 9-11. All tour dates and videos below...

This Battles album has exceeded the expectations of a chillwave classic. I think we have a new cultural revolution on our hands now.

Heard the ICE CREAM song while I was walking through some retail store (or maybe a movie theatre bathroom?) the other day. I couldn't help think that if Ian Williams and John Stanier from 15 years ago came into the present, that they would smack themselves (or worse).

New album is rather disappointing. Wished that they had gone back to the instrumental jams like they had on the EPs. That shit was the bomb. This new album is too Gloss-y
